These surface level comments get 50-100 likes in the first hour or two and remain at the top for the life of the video. It's a very effective way to dumb down the discourse. Every top comment on every political video is exactly this same pedantic take. The comment/like ratio is always fishy until the comment hits like 200 likes. I don't know about you but I comment/reply far more than I click like.
