- We monitor our land with multiple Browning trail cameras and we were surprised to find several of them pointed down the last time we checked them. Did trespassers mess with them?

▬ ABOUT US ▬
We are Rich & Kathie, a retired couple building our dream home: A SUPER ENERGY EFFICIENT OFF GRID earth sheltered home in the Adirondacks!
The house will be covered with about 30" of soil which helps to maintain an internal temperature between 45 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit in winter & summer respectively. This means that in the winter we will only need minimal heat that we plan to provide with a small wood burning stove and we shouldn't need any air conditioning in the summer at all!
With inflation right now, the energy efficiency of this house is a HUGE Plus! But, it also means that we have a super tight budget that is getting tighter by the day. For this reason we DIY everything we reasonably can and find creative ways to save money such as repurposing.
Please subscribe and join us to see how we manage the challenges of staying in budget and exactly how energy efficient this house actually is when it is done!
We appreciate all your support :-)

Good Morning To Both Of You 🌞👍😇 Vandalism is so frustrating, but it could wild life too black bear, raccoons too if I was you I change the camera et put it a little more higher and change the spot a little deeper into the wood.🤔🤔 HO HO HO It is a black bear 🤣🤣 We choose to go to the moon not because is easy but because it is hard ( GFK ! ) 😇😇👍👍 Very Nice camera wild life Cheers 👍👍😇😇🍻🍻
Thanks so much!
My comments.
I see......
1) A Turkey baking in the Oven
2) A nice Venison Stew simmering away on the Woodstove
3) A luxurious Bear Skin Rug as the focal point of your living room. With the Head attached ( does anyone remember the I Love Lucy show with the Rug ? )
😅
All on the list as we have more time to get out there!!
You need to put a back scratcher out there for the bear 😂. Pretty cool getting a picture of an owl, but what was the black animal with the long tail?
It was a fisher or a pine Martin … I think there were two different ones.
The bears are letting you know they don't appreciate your No Trespassing signs. They think _you_ are the trespassers. ;-) HappyMerryChristmaHannaKwanzaaka!
Very perfect point! And merry Christmas to you too!
Loved the footage, just a question towards the end of the bonus footage with the deers, was that gunshot noise or just static? They seemed to be startled by it?
Thanks, and it was just static from the camera.
That guys bear costume looked pretty real. It's crazy how far some hunters will go for a good turkey hunting spot! 😂 lol.
I think that hairy black thing with the long tail may have been the elusive mountain Bob. Which is a cross between a mountain lion and a bobcat! 😂 lol
When you come across animal poop, tree rubs, hair and tracks, hunters and trappers call that,"sign". So you definitely have some deer sign and bear sign. In the beginning of the video, i thought you may have had some trespasser sign, but after watching, it appears to be Rudolph, Yogi & Boo boo.
Have a great weekend 😊
Lol. We definitely have a lot of sign!!! And our favorite part us the third cam when you’re looking down at the bear standing on two legs!!
We loved what your cameras caught.
Thank you!
Love your wilderness cam footage. We observe ours personally (no cam footage) and occasionally they spot us spying on them. Our dogs can see them way before we can and give them a bit of an advantage over our watching them as appose to them spying on us. We currently have foxes, 3 kinds of skunks, ring tail cats, Coatimundi and deer as well as mice and pack rats the last two we are actively trying to deter from interacting with us or our stuff. The rodents attract snakes so we try to keep them at bay or dead. The last one we have concerns us and that is a mountain lion that we are reasonably sure has moved on to greener pastures in the lowlands. We love watching them as they get a drink of water from our wildlife watering containers and salt licks.
Isn’t it exciting!? We’ll, mostly. Rats and snakes are a definite no. Lol and the mountain lion, glad he moved on! We had to look up the coatimundi, it’s like a raccoon!
I missed you two! Glad you're back!! Great trail cam footage from your property.
Thank you so much!
I need you two to come and place my trail cams. All I get is my crazy neighbor.
Lol. We’ve gotten our neighbor on the cams a few times too.
Seeing the Fisher was something that I haven’t seen in many years. But then again it’s been years since I saw a River Otter in the Upper Mississippi River Basin too
We have a lot of fishers here. Don’t know much about river otters though. Have they disappeared due to pollution or human population?
Yes ! Great footage of the trespassers! :) I love seeing the wildlife up in your area.
Thanks so much!
Wow! Great footage of the animals. The best kind of trespassers. I suspect that the inside temperatures are maintaining. Toasty!🙂👍👍🇨🇦
We are toasty so far! 😊
Wow....amazing trailcam footage!! So nice to see a healthy wildlife population thriving in the hills! Seeing the bucks comfortable enough to chill in front of the camera lifts my spirits!
Thanks! Definitely a healthy population here😊
So much wildlife..... sweet 😂
😊
Great to see you guys again! I needed my fix lol. Hope you have a great Holiday
You just need to camouflage better, hide them to.
City Slickers, pushing that tree over
Boy you sure could fill the freezer with meat
Thanks! And We’re definitely hoping to stock up on meat in the future 😁
On the last weekend of rifle season here in the southern tier of NY I checked my cams and found someone turned off my camera and took the SD card. I don't think it was a bear or deer. At least they left the camera. This is why you should always put a password on your cameras. It would be useless to them going thru about 10k of numbers too reuse it.
Does sound like a good idea. We’ve been fortunate with all our cams here so far.
I'm just starting the video.... so it may have clear proof at the end. But I want to say that I've learned (over the past two years) how much bear mess with game cams! It's astounding.
It is absolutely astounding!
The woods are gorgeous. What a wonderful place to live. The videos of all the animals passing along made my heart smile.
Thank you so much😊
@12:19 and @13:05 = precious.
😊
I knew it was going to be wildlife 😁
😁😊
it someone was on your property they not going point camera down they will take camera's. that why I knew it was some kind animal did it.
Unless it was the neighbors kids😁 lol
I thought that it might be animals. Trespassers took our camera since the were probably spotted approaching them. Bears are curious to anything new in their environment, especially smells (human?). You did get some outstanding footage though, especially the 2 bucks trying to impress the doe by locking horns. Looks like you also caught a fisher (thick tail) and probably a weasel (thin tail). Much better than anything we've captured here. Interesting how different conditions can be in our two locations. Your forest appears a lot more open and hikeable. Ours is very dense and difficult to traverse.
Sorry about your cams. We’ve been fortunate here so far. There was so much footage I just picked out a few of the better or more interesting ones. Love living here so much!
Hope that you're coping ok with the heavy wet snow today. I just plowed our driveway and it was difficult.@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid
Awesome footage!
Thank you very much!
That bear loves to be on camera so he simply adjusted them to focus on himself better!
😂 I think you hit the nail on the head!!!
Love the videos. Lots of time spent up that way. However, never saw @10:46 a weasel. Pretty cool.
Thanks! And I thought they were actually a pine marten and a fisher. although I’m not really sure
@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid I was just guessing. I am sure you are right but either way that is one cool looking animal. Stay warm.
Beautiful woods!
Thank you!
great footage
Thank you!
Thanks Guys.
Thank you too!
A fisher at 10:15 ?
Yes!
@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid vicious animals. Had one up a tree once , was hissing and baring it’s fangs. I think it was thinking about jumping on me.
They are seriously nasty!
