I LOVE that you built the van with the pup in mind. I have TWO 80 lb Aussies, who will fight if too crowded. I wanted to be able to travel with them and have areas for them to spread out, whether it be on the bed, the couch or the floor. So much of my design (on paper so far) is narrow cabinets, seating, collapsible counters, etc just for them.
One of the things the philosopher Steve Harley suggested was to - and please don't think I'm trying to come across all academic : come up and see me make me smile. Well, I don't have to move one single inch for I'm already smiling. ( Okay! Okay! It was a long and convoluted way to pressgang the Steve Harvey line in order to simply say that this video made me smile ).That said....this video made me smile. I have watched all of your videos, but somehow missed this one, and I must say you have one of the most practical and well thaught out vans on the Internet, we all have different needs, I don't have a big dog needing space, so I might go for a shower corner (like "Ame in a Van") and I don't do a lot of cooking so the owen might be replaced with a micro, and I would also have added another solarpanel, because then I could "waste" a lot of power sunny days, but also have enough the cloudy days. But the layout is great and suits your needs, I just have other needs.

I love your videos...but I think you can get in the back without getting out, even without a swivel seat, lol. But it is cool to bring the chair into the house space and have that dual use. 😄
You can get in and out of the cab without swivel seats just by removing the bulkhead, you will have to get a van with the gears on the dash and the hand brake away from the seat. A fixed bed is great for young and active people or someone on there own because climbing over each other when your getting on in years . Having said that you both have made a great job doing your van
Thank you. When we removed our bulkhead we couldn't get into the back as we had a bench seat, as most of these vans do, so you have to at least swap that out for a single, then if your keeping it clear for habitation access you may as well utilise the space fully and go for swivels, as the actual swivel bases themselves are the cheap part lol! And luckily for us the gears are on the dash and handbrake is clear, my sister has a vw and also has swivels on both sides. As for climbing over each other in the night that's not really a fixed bed issue but more of a sideways bed issue, we could still have seating that converts to a fixed sideways bed as many do and still have the issue of climbing over each other. But anyway, your right the climbing could be an issue as we get older but we will be in another van by then I'm sure 🤣😂 That's the beauty of a self build tho, everyone can build it to their preference, thus is just our opinion. Yep guys good video and i agree with all those and will get them in my next purpose built van plus a shower ! I struggle not having a daily shower when I'm out and about for a while so I try to find one where I can. Fixed bed is a must too. So I need a 40 foot Winnebago I guess lol because I like hanging my clothes up too. Jesus the list is endless haha x

Hi Lou and Emily what another great film I'm redesigning my t4 kitchen at the moment to include an oven and grill but am changing from diesel heater to a lpg proper as the fuel pump ticking drives me insane and hard to loose on a t4 so proper it is and I'm looking foreword to the solar install film as I intend to fit 300w panels with 40a controller and 250ah sealed gell batterys one 100 and 2x 75ah . So looking foreword to the next instalment

I had the same brand /model oven/hob, it was not fit for purpose. The instructions said that you had to add insulation before install. The outside of oven got so hot that it burned the furniture of build. Lasted less than a year. Have now switched to a Thetford.
Hi dude, if you have a sufficient air gap you don't need to insulate, at least that's what ours says, we have 50mm around each side and a large gap at the back as that's where the heat escapes and the furniture doesn't get hot at all. The Thetford are great but far too deep for what we wanted.

Hey Lou, I have a few questions about the toilet. First off how difficult is it to clean the toilet and where do you do this? Second, how often do you have to clean the toilet?? Just wondering if its something I would benefit from. Many thanks.
Hi Barbara, it's not too bad to clean, especially if you are at a proper chemical toilet point as the have a hose you can spray right in there. The green chemicals are good and keep it fairly decent in there lol. We generally use campsites here in the UK when we need to empty, in Europe there's free emptying points all over, that's where we intend to be lol! Ours only lasts a couple of days but there's two of us and we have the smallest toilet, but you can get much larger ones. Hope that is of some help.
Nice video as always. I bought a Citroen Jumper L3H2. What size are yours. I am interested in the dimensions of the bed, seat, kitchen, etc. length, width. Thanks girls:-)
Ours is the same, l3h2. Our bed is 180cm x 120cm. The kitchen work top is around 450mm deep and I can't remember the bench size and don't have a tape measure with me, hope that helps tho 😁

Hi Jim, good luck with you camper, all the hard work is worth it in the end I promise 😁😁 For insurance try one of the specialist companies like Brentacre or Adrian flux and tell them you want to insure it as a "camper in conversion" that's what we do and it's been fine so far. Hope that helps.

Agree with all your points, theres even a really usable shower in ours that doesn't take up a lot of room when not in use (look up Possl Roadcamp R) sadly its a bit 'corridor' but. it's only 5.4m so we forgive it that! I struggle not having a daily
shower when I'm out and about for a while so I try to find one where I can. Fixed bed is a must too. So I need a 40 foot Winnebago I guess lol because I like hanging my clothes up too.

Hi Lou and Emily what another great film I'm redesigning my t4 kitchen at the moment to include an oven and grill but am changing from diesel heater to a lpg proper as the fuel pump ticking drives me insane and hard to loose on a t4 so proper it is and I'm looking foreword to the solar install film as I intend to fit 300w panels with 40a controller and 250ah sealed gell batterys one 100 and 2x 75ah . So looking foreword to the next instalment

I had the same brand /model oven/hob, it was not fit for purpose. The instructions said that you had to add insulation before install. The outside of oven got so hot that it burned the furniture of build. Lasted less than a year. Have now switched to a Thetford.
Hi dude, if you have a sufficient air gap you don't need to insulate, at least that's what ours says, we have 50mm around each side and a large gap at the back as that's where the heat escapes and the furniture doesn't get hot at all. The Thetford are great but far too deep for what we wanted.

Hey Lou, I have a few questions about the toilet. First off how difficult is it to clean the toilet and where do you do this? Second, how often do you have to clean the toilet?? Just wondering if its something I would benefit from. Many thanks.
Hi Barbara, it's not too bad to clean, especially if you are at a proper chemical toilet point as the have a hose you can spray right in there. The green chemicals are good and keep it fairly decent in there lol.
We generally use campsites here in the UK when we need to empty, in Europe there's free emptying points all over, that's where we intend to be lol!
Ours only lasts a couple of days but there's two of us and we have the smallest toilet, but you can get much larger ones. Hope that is of some help.

Ours is the same, l3h2. Our bed is 180cm x 120cm. The kitchen work top is around 450mm deep and I can't remember the bench size and don't have a tape measure with me, hope that helps tho 😁

For insurance try one of the specialist companies like Brentacre or Adrian flux and tell them you want to insure it as a "camper in conversion" that's what we do and it's been fine so far. Hope that helps.
