All that sound... and it's only THREE instruments! Big Figure's driving drumming is spot on, the bass player (name?) is laying in the bottom... but that Wilko! Wow... SO much rhythm and sound from only ONE guitar. He was so modest, but what he did on the guitar, and how he did it... was so extraordinary! Of course, I would be remiss to not tip the hat to Lee, too. Lee had such a powerful voice and animated stage presence. What a show they were! Sure miss these guys.

I first saw them play at the 1975 Reading Rock Festival, when I was 14. Apart from The Lurkers or 999, or maybe Eddie and The Hot Rods, they're the band I saw play live more times than any other, as they were always gigging somewhere in London. Their high energy performances were legendary.

Becoming adolescent in early 70’s GB,I was truly blessed with seeing great bands on tour. I saw Dr Feelgood several times.Unfortunately it all put paid to becoming a sensible:upright and productive member of society...and then came Thatcher and the utterly broken country we became in 1980’s. Although Britain was called the sick man of Europe,it produced some of the greatest bands and music you will ever hear...thank God for the “Dole”-it allowed all these bands to survive and thrive!!!

I live in Colchester, Essex and spoke to Wilko after one of his local gigs about this specific video and it’s impact on me. It’s a live segment from the film Oil City Confidential. They refused to mime and literally busted it out in one take. The crowd were trying to dance to it like it was Elvis or the Beatles but the stabbing delivery was so fresh it just threw the room off.
Dr. Feelgood were absolutely ferocious in their day and prided themselves on their live performances.

Wilko is an original that can't be copied - and at the same time influences a wide variety of players. For me - that's where the rubber meets the road. Amazing character. Have to be him to play him - and he gives something to strive for. And check out the bass player, John B. "Sparko" Sparks playing pumping bass/rhythm guitar on the bass! The whole thing is a great kind of nuts. And they were high on speed. Crazy times. Ordinary lives don't make music of this energy.
