Today we take a look at some of the recent survival and immersion themed mods to release for Fallout 4. One of these mods brings a large overhaul to Fallout 4's survival mode, giving the player a lot of additional customizability and adding in a variety of new features.

I got a question 🤔 does the FPS on there series X/S is more better with the landscape mods or doesn't change at all ? Like I'm trying to make my fallout 4 journey at little more immersion

Used to love this game but it's been driven downwards and the game kinda got ruined. It barely works on phones anyway.
One thing I can't agree with more is FO with survival mechanics is like the vanilla ice cream to warm vanilla pie. It makes the entire game make sense.
i'd also recommend flashy joer's other mod crime and punishment. adds back in a karma system complete with bounty hunters. the system can be tweaked so if you're doing a raider playthrough you get karma for doing bad things. it has two basic templates, one for the MM and the other for raiders.

He has one where you can run a bounty hunter office as well as feral ghoul infestations (zombies that invade locations that you need to kill) also compatible with ss2 and depravity with patches :D

Besides the answer of "the games doesn't need it", I've always wondered why Fallout never had any mounts? In my opinion, I truly think it would benefit from it.
Riding the cows would be cool but I think the game was rushed to the point they couldn’t add anything else so stuff like that was cut or never developed.
Horses surviving is the retcon I want most of all since they would be cool gameplay wise and logically they're very valuable so people would keep them around and they are well adapted to surviving so they could realistically live in the wild (at least a mutated version of them)

Play without vats, hardcore damage mod, clean HUD mod, and less loot mod and level cap mod and you will really think about your next move, Big shout out to the creators of IVY THE COMPANION mod that one blew my mind for sure
Despite its content, the IVY mod is an incredible companion mod, voiced by a UA-cam artist.
Instead of a level cap mod, I use the More or Less XP mod to remove XP for kills and crafting and increase it for quests and skill checks. It really slows the levelling which increases the challenge and encourages exploration.
I also use the Journey mod to only allow fast travel between connected settlements.

I so wish that Bethesda would revisit fallout 4. So much untapped potential.
We got mods to fulfill that right now, plus I'd rather see a completely new Fallout Game all together. I'm tired of playing this game for like the 100th time.
Though even that's pretty slim, were gonna have a wait a long time unless a second party like obsidian steps in. But that studio ain't the same as it was back in Fallout NV so yeah. Fallout is in a pickle right now.
Every time I see Fallout 4 trending, I’m praying that it’s a next gen upgrade, new huge CC content like Skyrim’s, and four free CC content. But no.

The world designers created so many cool places and background stories that could have had great quests associated with them, but the quest designers just didn't bother for some reason. Easy City Downs and the Combat Zone are the obvious ones, other than those, there's the conflict between the raiders at the Federal Ration Stockpile and Beantown Breweries, the leader of the gang at Corvega having a history with Mama Murphy, Libertalia, Quincy, the Atom Cats Garage, and the list goes on. Sure some of those should remain environmental stories, but at least make some of them into real quests
And given my load orders tend to be incredibly script heavy being able to still quick save is a godsend
Same but I only play survival, so I got a mod that allows me to save when I want + it auto-saves every 10 minutes + I re-enabled the default auto-save feature lol, got tired of losing hours of playtime because the game crashed or a mod messed up
They also could add a sound bar like in farcry and battlefield when you are sneaking. That would be a cool feature
They do it by vision in the engine... that would require a whole new script. Most modders build on old scripts...

Anyone know if there's a way to make your minutemen spawn with a load loadout you can make by putting the items in a box or something? All the ones I can find are preset outfits but I want to make them all wear what I wear. Or do I just have to try and go into the script to do it

Can anyone help me understand what is causing my 2 gun mods to not work properly? One that I have is Colt 1911 (needs HK USP to run animations) by LTKillgore, and the HK XM8 by the same person. The 1911 has an under barrel flashlight and it lights up with a pinkish purple light on the wall but the beam is still the standard yellowish white. I know typically that means there’s a texture issue but is there something I’m missing? I load those 2 and 3 from bottom of the load order and the 1911 before the XM8 and still it is showing that color. If anyone can help me I’d appreciate it. For context I’m on Xbox Series X. Thanks in advance.
im looking at this game in terms of mods but with the creation club content does it have the same issues as skyrim special edition cause i don't think we have the perfect step by step modding guide for fallout 4 with all the creation club content if im wrong please link the video or URL as ive been searching for a long time with no results especially in terms of Xedit like we have to do with the dawnguarg DLC and other masterfile cleaning

Hi I'm having so.e issues and was hoping someone here could help I had the looksmenu mod but it wouldn't load any overlays so I tried to sort that and now it says the file isn't active I've deleted and reinstalled it several time and have tried to manually download it but I can't get it active again dose anyone know a fix for this?

Kinda wish there were a survival tent mod, like the one fallout first players get. I don't want to build a settlement everytime, a tent will do.
Right. I've said "to each their own" re: survival mods for years, but seriously? Using the bathroom? Brushing your teeth? What kind of human squeegee is so absent actual, real-world problems that having to brush their character's teeth in-game is a challenging and interesting survival mechanic?
As a favourite dentist customer, I'd say the lack of teeth can slightly decrease your Charisma (and Speech skill). Guess why I can't:(

I love your video's, but have you considered (if you haven't done so already) doing another must have mods 2022 that work together and don't clash? I'm going to start a new game (Your video is the reason) but I want to spice my game up a little. But I don't like having to spend ages and ages figuring out which mods won't clash and what mods will cause my game to crash.

i love playing FO4 survival mode but the two things i hate about Survival Mode is Fast travel turned off n ammo weight.
Seems like the perfect survivor mod. Just wish it was released way back cuz I already have a save for survivor mode and I already spent way too much time into it to start a new game with this mod now.

does the player controlled farming allow you to grow & collect food without settlers? cos ive always wanted to do a solo playthru with no settlements only making my camps all over the place.. what annoys me also about settlement mods like conquest that add new settlements is i dont want such a large area.. i wish there was a mod that allowed you to make a new CAMP settlement thats only say 10-15 blocks cubed.. this would solve the problem of many of these mods when it says "you cant place it there are enemies nearby" and you spend hours trying to clear the area and cant find anything yet it still wont let you place it... I want some settlement mod that allows me to have cute little homes.. bare minimum size... a bed, cooking, workbenches... to be able to add homes in cool places on rooftops, under bridges etc without it effecting most of the map for spawns etc
Yes, player farming is just that, player farming. No settlers required. You plant the item as you normally do and then you tend to to the plant yourself (animated). It grows based on your regrowth settings in the MCM. And the camping module will allow for what you want, as it doesn't use settlement mode - it just places a sleeping bag, a cook fire, etc, where you are standing. However, if you switch into CAMP76 mode, it then uses settlement mode and the issues youve noted would likely be something to consider.
I am using AN76 and Fallout 4-76 (SKK). A total sandbox 😎
Can someone find me a mod to make the game work on my ultawide I've got a g9 Neo and things look stretched.
Yeah there are settings adjustments for it, check if it's working IN GAME
I thought it wasn't working because bI was checking the main menu, the video on loop is obviously not made in Ultrawide, so make sure you check THE GAME
Also there is a mod that almost comically fast fowards the loading times (I know it's more complex but it looks that way and is funny asf), it's a great help, no more 2+ minute loading times!
The only immersive issue of “using the toilet” is that you can actually go anywhere, any time. You don’t need a toilet if your in the middle of the woods
Which is why there is a hotkey you can press to do the deed whereever you are. You dont "need" the toilet, its just there for those that would whine that it wasn't. :)

will 100% use this mod in my next playthrough, cant even survive in normal mode.
I can't play my Fallout 4 on my xbox one after this creation club update, my game crashes on Boston part even with no mods or DLC, then I have to play this game offline with no Update by just using my fisic copy of Fallout 4, and I can go to Boston.
funny my current runs (one with LL content and AAF and one without) both use AN76, sadly as far as I know Crime and Punishment doesn't work with the LL content I have as far as I know
Advanced Needs 76 only half works for me. Some things work, but stuff like hunger and thirst have no effect whatsoever. I followed the instructions, the game itself isn’t on survival. I’ve even tied changing the values to the fastest possible. Im going on 53 hours of this play through and I haven’t seen one notification or debuff lol idk man. Idk why it wont activate, it’s registered in my MCM. Well, I get notifications alerting me if the mods effects, but nothing about actually being hungry, tired, etc. it just explains the mechanics but none of them are actually implemented in then game. Idk if having Better Locational Damage is possibly messing with it or maybe Gas Masks of The Wasteland, but I dont have any other mods that would conflict with this, and Vortex isn’t detecting anything wrong. Im at a loss.

any help?
Script extender is basically a "mod" you download from a website and install first. It is not menu driven, it is just a small addon to your mod list in your mod organizer program. I personally use Vortex and it will install it for you. You can look up videos on UA-cam from Gopher of Gamer Poets and they will explain how to use it in detail.

I've been testing Advance Needs but sadly Zombie Walkers' infection is incompatible with it as it uses vanilla survival infection.
I'm really into this mod. And actually might reinstall the game for this mod. The only problem for me is I have 1500 hours in this game. So I have played all the quests to death. If you did a video on lore friendly quest mods to go with this that would be cool. Or if anyone wants to shout out suggestions I'd be grateful. There's a lot of mods to go through these days.

Do what I am doing: do quests out of order and meet people early, the game expects you to do this and changes quests and adds dialogue. Its pretty funny showing up to Preston's in a full suit of T-60 with a minigun already. Also if you skip dog meat then nick will summon him later on. Lots of very neato things you can trigger.
Download the gun for hire mod. Provides about 30 repeatable side missions along with unique mailbox jobs that you only recieve once. Everything is fully voiced and it’s great to have this as part of your endgame along with the rest of the endgame faction missions. You get a base and even your own vertibird with a cockpit view in first person
Try the sim settlements 2 mod. An entire new quest. made a new playthrough because of it

Modded FO4 is a masterpiece when compared to 76 🤣, I'd take 1, 2 and NV over 3, 4 and 76 any day of the week.

the thing i dont like about that hunter thing is when it goes to black screen.. it seems quite time consuming in real life.. i dunno why they cant just make it instantly give you the stuff and advance the time... you dont want it to be a chore.. especially since it doesnt even have animations... like red dead redemption when u skin stuff
That is an option you can enable in the mod.
So this is basically fo4's version of FWE but with a buch of new features
This seems like a lot of other mods for Fallout 4, really cool in theory, but not very useful in an actual playthrough. For example, camping. I've played several playthroughs of this game and like to play ultra realistic (to the point that I even walk everywhere as opposed to running because that's what I'd do in real life) I've never felt like I didn't have a bed close enough to use. In just about every area of the game there's either a settlement or just randomly in the world somewhere you can sleep, and the only places I haven't found this to be true are places my character wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping anyway, like the radiation-filled Glowing Sea. Unlike Skyrim, where these mods make a lot of sense because the land is much more wild and sparsely populated.
None of this seems like anything that my playthrough needs to fell good, and I'm willing to bet it's incompatible with most of the mods I use that do feel essential, such as Horizon.
sometimes it is hard to incentivize a use of a feature added by a mod.

@@dpollard5286 Get Mod Organizer 2, do it's short tutorial built into the program (not a video), READ the page of each mod and it's posts/comments/bugs
If a mod looks like it's from 2016 or something, read as much as you can about it from the posts/comments/bugs, it may not be in working order anymore, or it may be script heavy or it may break precombines (just about all scrap-everything mods do this, avoid them.) or just may be implemented poorly
precombines basically means some textures are combined to improve performance from my understanding, being able to scrap them means breaking them into separate pieces and getting strange behavior and/or bad performance
Body slide stuff is a mess and often needs to be "built" in body slide studio
Weapon mods may not integrate into leveled lists meaning they will only be obtainable through crafting them at a chem station, very boring and unrealistic, same for power armor mods (but Power Armor To The People is changing that)
Man this looks awesome which means that it's probably not on console.
It is on xbox. It was originally developed for it. Go look in your mods launcher. PS4? No. Sony don't allow custom scripting or assets.
Why I will never play fall out on survival mode, I have literally never had a play through that didn't require console commands to get me out of some game breaking bug. I know there are mods that will enable console commands in survival mode but at that point you might as well no-clip through the whole game
I'm running all three of Flashy's mods as well as, MAIM. If however I'm feeling somewhat constipated and need to inspire a poo, I'll dump about eight different zombie mods into my load order as well
I don't like survival mode because of the primary needs- it's annoying and feels like a chore to do
You can play fallout 4 on ur phone, get game pass ultimate, download the app, go to cloud games, connect a controller thru Bluetooth, and bam ur playing fo4 on ur phone with a controller xD

tbh survival is never something i really wanted while playing fallout, HOWEVER it sounds like something id really like to see in a streamer or creator playing and then making an edited to the juicy parts gameplay video

I like fallout 4 with survival mode but need fast travel
Try Journey on nexus....lets you travel between settlements with caravans or with other caravans (like Trashcan Carla) , so it keeps some of the travel challenges of survival.
well then this mod is for you because it doesn't work on survival mode, but it essentially brings survival mode to the non survival modes. So, now you can have your fast travel and your survival

I hated the mod, every 5 minutes he was thirsty, and in a battle like to take back the castle your AP was totaly empty before the end and die. And later I learned you could change it... ☺ So yeah I took it another look now I like it...
It's good it can be changed, I usually despise "survival" mods, because it's just insane masochism,
They make enemies invincible bullet sponges to "bring back RPG mechanics", then they make players as weak as twigs to "add a spice of realism", your player dies instantly most of the time, and all enemies are ungodly powerful
Then your character every 2 to 5 minutes is like "I'm hungry/thirsty/cold/hot/dirty/have to potty! 🥺", jeez get a fuckin catheter or somthin, I don't have time for this s*** when I just wanna explore
In the skyrim wildlanders mod I picked healer as a class, one millisecond of healing instantly drained my magicka down to 0, healing 1 health point, basically meaning I was completely useless
Minecraft mods are no better, "You aren't a high enough level to mine this wheat/carrot/potato" I can understand the wheat and maybe the potato, but the carrot, is my character brain dead or something?!
Then to improve "survival" mods like rlcraft will just add instakill MACH 25 flying monsters
So that's why I generally avoid them 🙂 They aren't "fun", and you can't "survive" in them half the time on default settings at least

A 5700G APU is enough to play it on 1080p with mods, but you may want a GPU for better
