They played four consecutive(!) nights at Wembley Stadium in July 1987, to a combined audience of 287,000. It was a record at the time, and was only topped Michael Jackson.
I saw him in Genesis and as Phil Collins a number of times in New York and in Florida. Huge crowds, balmy nights, and great music in the 80s. Always a fantastic concert.
Praveena Ahuja banks was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, I prefer people from working class backgrounds that hit the big time. Money goes to money I guess. .
Agree. I just think he comes from another planet... a extraterrestrial superpower for music... I love his voice... it sounds like two people singing at the same time
My bf and I loved this song we would listen to it all the time and watch this video over and over and laugh at Phil's dance moves. Then I became pregnant and couldn't listen to this song anymore it made me incredibly nauseas. Now that my daughter is almost 1 I am once again obsessed with this song. Sadly the lyrics describe my bf and I now. This song only makes me feel sadness now but I still love it and Phil is the man!
My friend I grew up in the 70s and 80s. It was one helluva ride with all the great music. You wouldn't have wanted to leave that Era. I miss it everyday. I would gladly go back and stay there
Great song (one of many), great singer, great band….so take a look at his music now, there is no empty space, and we have everything to remind us, how great he is, more than a memory of a face.
brotzo1 There are many songs of Genesis which is in par with bohemian rhapsody and other queen songs. Fading lights is one of the most under rated song but the best of Genesis which is sonically equal to bohemian rhapsody. These are just my thoughts.
+Annie Bananie It's actually a very simple riff. The left hand is playing a walking bassline on E for the most part, the right hand (in the main riff) is only really playing 3 chords- Em, D and G.
Whatever happened to that old "people pushing" line? Was that an attempt to make people move nearer the band Ironically? I know quite a few secrets of the trade btw I love this song
I know someone will say i’m crazy, but for me this is one of the Genesis’s best song ever!!
I might as well say that you are crazy since you insisted on it
I love this song!
I recommend checking out “misunderstanding” it’s also good
That's all / I can't dance/ Jesus he knows me
Most genesis songs are the best song ever lol
The size of that crowd...wow. Easy to forget just how big Phil Collins was back in the day. Well deserved as this is real good music.

No Genesis not Phil

@@Donnacaleenwow, great memories. Well played Donna!
OMG, Such a huge audience. Great honour for this great singer singing this beautiful song
1:10 listen to the roar of that crowd that’s how you know this band was loved
Thank you for also pointing this out. It's really one of my favorite crowd-going-nuts moments.
My favorite Genesis song and Phil was the best front man the group had.
Best version of "That's All". Tony Banks is fantastic on the keyboard.GENESIS ROCKS! Collins is an amazing frontman.
Praveena Ahuja I feel even A R Rahman knows this. He expressed disappointment when Phil Collins decided to quit.

My friend I grew up in the 70s and 80s. It was one helluva ride with all the great music. You wouldn't have wanted to leave that Era. I miss it everyday. I would gladly go back and stay there

I forgot how HUGE 80's productions were.
I love the piano in this. It reminds me of radioheads 'a punchup at a wedding' whenever one of those songs is on I think of the other one.

Phil Collins is so funny!
Phil Collins is badass
Tony Banks 0% desperate. I wanted to have in life the tranquility of Tony Banks.
Great song. Did anyone else feel that it slowed down a little near the end?

Still waiting for a biopic of the band
It's either '88 or '89 - I can't remember which, and I don't have the DVD in front of me at the moment.
It's from 1987 i was there
