Yeah, the DTV is almost too good to be true. How long do you think it would last in your opinion? And once it its gone, do you think it would force DTV holders to get different Visas?
@@sksChiefthief I understand but it's worthless, and his tax advice is absolutely incorrect btw and he forgot to even mention the most common visa which is the retirement visa, anyway good luck
The DTV has that lame rule that you have to leave the country after 180 days and do a border run in order to renew the visa. That's too much of a pain in the ass
What country are YOU from? How long does YOUR country allow foreigners to stay with a visa??? I seriously doubt your country allows foreigners to stay longer than 180 days. That's called RECIPROCITY. You (and I) are not entitled to more than what our own countries' offer visitors. You are not entitled to *special* treatment, even if you believe you are. Now you get a taste of what foreigners in your own country go through to live and work there.

You should reach out to the UA-camr who moved to Koh Samui a few months ago. He's from LA, a film industry guy, who retired at 50. Since he lives there, after several years of living in Bangkok, he's a wiser, more helpful contact. He spent a good chunk of the pandemic there in Koh Samui (Bangkok was just way too crowded). His channel is "Retired Working for You". He is NOT retired, but he doesn't work a regular job. He's well-connected. Go watch some of his videos. He took several months off after his move, while he was getting situated, but he's back at it recently. I don't really like the guy, but he provides good info.
He is totally wrong, of course he is young but its unwise to publicly advise people when you have no knowledge or experience, the tax changes are currently a PROPOSAL and nothing is decided to date, even if the new tax rules are implemented it DOESN'T mean everyone would be taxed, it's a Remittance tax and wouldn't apply to many people, it's irresponsible to make the statement he made
I've never understood youtubers/tiktokers telling strangers on the internet to move to the place they're living at. Most people are boring af and anywhere that masses of people move to becomes very lame. Influencers should be telling everyone how dangerous and difficult Thai life is. That'd excite the cool adventurous types to move not the turbonormies.
It seems like mostly guys who can't keep a woman in whatever country they're from, so they move to Thailand where the local women find them attractive. It's not everyone, but very, very common.
@@LearnGrowHealThrive the local women find them attractive because they're rare and high status in comparison to the local guys. That'll change when Thailand gets filled with boring average Western guys.
From my understanding, British expats dont need ro pay taxes to the U.K. America has a citizenship tax, meaning we cant get away from taxes anywhere in the world. If we don't pay, they revoke our passport. However, America also has a double tax agreement with Thailand. Any idea how that works from your American friends?
i am planning may 2025 for 2-3 weeks... no idea where to start. I guess it's cheaper flights from central europe (Germany) than Finland... wonder how that visa goes on short-term.. prly no need? Prly take just flights and check residence when at destination.. It's prly cheaper to get somewhere non-Phukket and move TO Phukket by bus or something?
I recently applied for the DTV and am waiting results. Question: when entering Thailand with the DTV, and knowing about the first 180 days, am I required to enter with a return flight ticket, or can I come in just with the one-way ticket to Thailand? I have searched for this info and found nowhere.
Whats up man, I'm from Florida. I want to move to Phuket for a calm beach lifestyle. WIll $10k in savings be enough when arriving in Thailand accounting for unexpected costs and stuff? I want to live out there for 6-8 months and build my own brand doing content creation. I hate my life here in the USA.
