It makes sense to rent in the UK too if you’re financially literate and don’t want to work until 65 to pay 4 times what the asking price of your property was in bank interest. I’m moving to Thailand in the not too distant future and owning a property there is the very last thing I’d consider doing, rent is next to nothing and with a country that great why be fixed to one location?

I solved my water problem to avoid fluoride and "forever chemicals" by adding an undersink RO system (there are tabletop RO systems as well, although they are not as robust). Although they sell in-line mineralizers, it's easier and cheaper to simply add some electrolyte drops (I use Mayu: Mg, Ca, HCO3, Se, I, and Zn) yourself.

May seem minor but these are the things people don't consider when moving to Thailand. Same as the pollution shortening your lifespan in Bangkok.
