I drove a White Road Boss with a 903 Cummins engine for a construction company for a while in the mid 70s and a few years later drove a White Road Commander (Road Commode) with a 400 big cam Cummins otr. I loved that truck! It had a high-back floating air seat and all the power I ever wanted. Night & day through rain or snow it never let me down.

White Road Commander (Road Commode) haven't hear that one for awhile, friend of mine worked for a tucking company that had some of them, not mechanic / technician friendly from what I remeber him telling me.

White made some nice rigs back in the day. REO was much better than White, but they all struggled at one point and ended up being bought out by White. The agreement they had with Freightliner was a sweet deal for them. When Volvo got mixed in, that’s when things went poorly. Tis a shame that many of these truck manufacturers are no longer in the business. Volvo is NOT a truck that I would ever buy. Thanks for a good video. Good stuff! 🤩🤩

We will do a video on REO soon. Thanks for watching and all the support.

I agree. I wouldn't have a volvo under a Christmas tree. Stamped out foreign tin, no resale high priced Chinese owned truck.

The "Expeditor" at 7:48 was one of only a handful that found their way to New Zealand. We also had some Road Bosses and Road Commanders along with older models. The Road Commanders in Australia and here in New Zealand, had a different cab, possibly locally made (in Australia) and looked a little less stylish, however, they were held in the highest regard as were all White truck models and seen as a worthy competitor for Kenworth and Mack. It's a shame they disappeared.

I was a mechanic for Empire White trucks back in late 69 to 74:
the flat face cab over city tractors didn't hold up well being in the salt belt, they rotted
    out fast.

Forgot about the WIA64 that was branded as a White-Volvo and was essentially the last White branded truck built and set the stage for every Volvo model tractor after that. Volvo uses an engine based on an older Mack motor, but the body is designed from the old WIA model.

Update! After further research, I think I made a mistake with regards to the Road Commander cabs in Australasia. I now believe that the Road Commanders we had down under, were series 1 and I don't recall ever seeing a series 2 locally.
