Your video was very helpful for me to do the installation. Thank you for your post and hard work. One question I was try to figure out how to get the beeping sound when you backup and is close to an object. Do you know?
Glad it helped. Good question @selwynrock7546, for that you will need a camera with sensors and you will be able to turn them on on factory settings just like the guidelines.

Make sure the connections are tight if you using the t traps, cut a little more wire make a loop twisted and then put the male connector that way it will be thicker and make better contact. Also in the back of the unit remember to connect it in the right plug. If you are not sure which video banana to put it on. Put the car on reverse(car on but not running) if you are getting power and connected the camera to the reverse wire the screen should turn black, then plug your yellow banana to any of the yellow one or the ones that say video and try them all to see which one works. If the screen doesn’t turn black when put in reverse is because the connections are making good contact that is why the camera is not getting power so check them. Hope that can help you
Is it possible to add wire length to the red wire closer to the camera next to the RCA? I need about a few more inches but haven't heard of it being done before
idk if this will help anyone, but with my touchscreen model, it didnt have a video in/cam in in the harness, instead it was a separate yellow wire that i needed to plug the camera into.
I haven’t looked into it but I believe you would have to download one of those home screen launcher apps from the play store and then set it up from car settings.
You should get a package with the four cameras (front, left and right mirrors, and back) they all connect to a device and that device you have to connect to the harness of your unit just like if it was just one back-up camera. Here is one that i thinks is very good www.ebay.com/itm/185822847410?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kv7dktoqqak&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=9zd-w4hsshk&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I followed these instructions and now the left side reverse light that I tapped into no longer works but everything else is working like normal. What could have happened?
Check the fuses or use the the light bulb that is good to check if the bulb was blown. Also check that the taps are connected positive to positive and negative to negative double check. If everything is good connect the wires directly and use shrink tubes do not use the taps a lot of times the taps get a loose connection and don’t work properly. Lmk if it helps.
I did exactly this and my camera lights up when I’m in reverse, but the screen doesn’t switch to the camera video screen. Any ideas? Feel like it’s a setting or something in the unit but I can’t figure it out
What i would do is with the car on but not running just where the radio turns on. Put it in reverse with the head-unit out but still connected and and connect the video wire to the other video or check the reverse signal wire (the brown most of the time) sometimes when putting things back it can get disconnected. Just try things around sometimes the labels on this units are misplaced so you have play with them until you get the video on the screen.
@@backontheroaddiy I gave up lol. I’m like 99.9% sure it’s because I bought an NTSC video format camera and my android screen only supports AHD or TVI, no options for NTSC
@@dannycruz663 nope lol. Company I got the radio from even sent me an AHD backup camera to try and I wired it up the same but could not get the radio to switch to the backup camera screen. Tried several different wires from behind the radio too just wouldn’t work. Good question. All you need to do is get a back up camera harness and just remove the one coming from the camera, connect the new one. And just connect it to the headunit like in the video. The reason for the new harness is because the one from the mirror doesn’t have the wire that connects to the reverse wire in the headunit (minute 6:40 i explain better). So new harness, connect to video out and wire to reverse wire and you will have video when you go on reverse. If you look on minute 8:52 i show where i started to hide it. I did that all the way back until the back seat. Then i fold the back seat to have access to the truck and continue along the side of the trunk.
i dont have an ig but i can try to help you. The wire that you are looking for has to be the reverse one. Because if you connect it lets say to brake, the camera will turn on when you press the brakes. In this headunits (assuming you have the same one i have) they forget to label some wires or they label them wrong so if you want to take a chance look for the brown wire and if there is not brown look for the pink. If you want leave me you phone and then delete the comment after 30 mins ill be paying checking.
Yes it should be video input my mistake. But in the back of the radio it is going to say back up camera and will only have the connection for that wire. Thanks for catching that it can confuse some people.
Maybe you didn’t connect the hazard harness back on lol or maybe is loose double check it because nothing with the head unit interferes with the hazard light connector
If you want to support the channel! Here is how. Thanks 💪🏽

There's also two loops where the camera connector is. I think if you clip the right one, that puts the reverse lines.

This should be my last question, did you tap the negative wire with the red rca to one of the tail lights or did you just ground it to metal
I used the negative and positive wires of the tail light because the camera wires were short, but you can use a bolt if you prefer. Both methods work
Does the lines on the camera adjust based on steering input when reversing?
The guiding lines on mine doesn’t. If you want that make sure you buy one that has that feature.
You made it so easy lol. I can’t get the camera to work

Yes you can add wire to extend it you wont have any problems.
