- Amongst a host of row houses in this dense Pune neighbourhood, sits a 2000 sq.ft. compact home sandwiched between structures, row houses, and homes on three sides, and receiving limited light from the front. Despite a warm structure, the home was devoid of light, ventilation, and natural elements. The planning was typical but led to clutter and potentially dingy spaces and corners.
Architects took this as a challenge. They aimed to transform this space into something more refreshing - one that includes nature in the built environment.
This film captures the redeveloped home, that is completely transformed via a skylight intervention replacing the tight parking space in the front of the house. But instead of stopping there, the architects also introduce a new aesthetic. Specific material choices and design elements declutter the space and transform it into something more organic. What a warm and inviting space! All the little areas where you can sit alone without the space overwhelming you or sit with others without feeling crowded. I love the colour scheme. The brick walls add so much warmth, just marvellous!

This is actually a renovated house so cost will be lower than building a house by higher than local renovation project… I mean look at the finishing and structures… if you wanna build same kind of house you’ll need at-least 1 to 1.5C
