What made this show what it is today was its willingness to NOT talk about sports. When everyone else was analyzing offensive linemen in the summer, this show was talking to Ron McGill or reviewing movies and TV shows with the president of the Marlins, or pop culture , or even politics. Some segments hit, some miss. But you gotta keep swinging. If you feel like talking politics every so often, we're with you, Danno. This is all therapy to help us cope with shitty jobs, commutes, etc.
It's fun to not take everything so serious... But sometimes it's ok to take some things serious. Be true to yourself. We've (I've?) been listening for 20 years - you're doing something right ❤

The fact that we are subsidizing owner stadiums and that NFL cases have lasting precedent over arbitration cases and so on is a good example of how politics and sports are inseparable. Politics and everything is inseparable. Not necessarily partisan politics, but the idea that sports is apolitical is kind of silly.
Think of how many labor issues are covered with sports?
its only when politics a a whole are seen as "icky and other" that its left to geriatric party loyalists and reality TV hucksters. But in reality politics is OVER everything, whether you like it or not.

We literally had propaganda radio in South Florida for decades. I'm happy to hear anything from Dan that doesn't treat the audience as stupid and ignorant.
Yet on 5/19, Mike asks cast to not say anything bad about “parent company” when discussing Jimmy Fallon ride at Universal Studios theme park.
This is the same political climate where the former president is selling sneakers to commemorate the attempt on his life. This is not normal.
As long as you don’t go on a 5 minute “this amazing thing we are doing here” speech, you can talk about UK Parliament and Batista’s government.
Why Dan speaks poorly about politics on his show.
It's not fair to pick on Dan every modern sports media person does politics liberal or conservative everybody that left ESPN complained about how they were being censored outkick literally does Sports and politics this is the new sports media world there is no more Sports is a safe space from politics
not many are as nakedly partisan while embarrassing themselves in the process. Dan doesn't hedge , he's all in and it's shameful . I look forward to seeing him cry after the election .

And he's just wrong. A person can go on a platform (reddit, UA-cam, Twitter, whatever) and either criticize or blatantly trash the show (in general terms, or a specific day)...without having supported it by actively clicking or downloading.
Or I can click on this 9 minute clip, see the tone and tenor of Thursday & Friday's shows...and decide not to click on one of the 15 other uploads from those days.

Yeah cool Dan. Totally agree and think you, of all people in this space, should be able to talk about these issues however you want. My only problem is you wield this mighty sword meekly. You are a centrist liberal who has siloed themselves in Miami. This is not an insult, it's the representation you have provided politically throughout the years.
If you really want to use your platform in a positive way. You need to be more aggressive than you were about how craven Trump was on that photo. Less of these political stooges who don't care about how the decisions of government actually affect people. They come to your show and it's a game.

You guys have these side shows. Have a political hour and you guys can whine and cry about politics the whole time. I’m sure people will watch. Most people turn on a sports show (although I think your show is a little more than a sports show because it’s also about pop culture in some sense) to get away from politics/hard news.
This show has had a political component for as long as I can remember. This isn't some new development. It's part of the fabric of the show, and it makes it more interesting to me.

@jpk565 Because what they said isn't close to an accurate representation of that bill. The actual bill just says that courts should take into consideration whether or not a parent is supportive of a kid's identity when ruling on custody/visitation.
