You are a genius, this was my problem with the dryer not starting! To find out this was the problem, without even buying the part yet, I held the dryer closed button (with the dryer plugged in of course), turned on the timer, connected those 2 cords for a second (bypassing the relay and making sure not to touch the metal parts), then pushing the start button. As soon as the drum began to turn, I let go of the door closed button (this button you need to be careful with too, don't touch the metal!) LA1053 Dryer Thermostat Fuse Limit Kit.
Thank you so much for this video !! I have the Maytag Model PYE2300AYW and the fuse replacement worked like a charm and made me look like a hero to my wife 😂 I also cleaned out all of the lint as you showed in the video . Thanks again !!
Thanks for the video. This wasn't my problem, but it showed me how to open the top to see the problem. One of my black wires had burned out that was connected to the power source.
my Crosley dryer runs, but has no heat. The repair Clinic website says to check the thermal fuse first. The fuse is not under the lid. I can see it when I remove the back. But it's way easier to get to then this one in the video, which is nice!
My apologies if this is annoying but you don’t happen to have the model number of this dryer do you? Your the only one that has the dryer my mother has and I’m working out of town. I want to order this for her. But I need model number. This video was a godsend you deserve much more praise!
My dryer is an old Maytag Performa and cannot open from the top like how most dryers can, and I do not know how to check for lint build ups and such because of it, any tips?
Have a Maytag and it will not turn on. Changes the heater, and both fuses but still won’t start. Took off the front and saw another sensor with multiple connections. Could this be the problem? How to test and if bad where to get a replacement?
We have the exact same machine but it is a MAYTAG model PYE2300AYW. The thermal switch in our machine is also blown (OPEN CIRCUIT- NO CONTINUITY). DID THIS PROBLEM PREVENT YOUR MACHINE FROM STARTING AT ALL, NO MOTOR MOVEMENT, NO SOUND, NO NOTHING? This is what we are seeing with our machine. Hope this fixes it like it did your dryer.
@@mayram2013 it has been a while and i had to replace the thermal sensors (twice in 2 days) but all is working fine now. Only other change I made is stop using high heat to dry anything. All is working great now.😁
