Just ordered one in the Black Friday Sale and used an additional discount code, to reduce it to £7. Not bad! If you have more than one in the same room, would you just name them and use a voice command like, "Alexa, turn on Plug 1"? I want this for fans in my workout room, so using the Alexa app with sweaty mitts wouldn't be too pleasant!
I like you because your name is Stu! My name is also Stu and for that reason I think we might be identical twins despite looking nothing like each other! Pleased to meet you fella 👍🏻
Well it really depends on the quality of the internal components and the durability. If it lasts a lifetime and it’s safe then it’s cheap! What price ‘peace of mind ‘?
I have to admit I was shocked at how quickly the plug I purchased paired. I'd recommend it for low power items. The ones I purchased were $5 sales through the Alexa Show.
Thanks very much for this video. I agree it's really expensive at £25 but I'm probably going to get it as part of a deal with Echo Show 8 where it's only an extra £10. I've had a look at other similar type devices and you can get something that does the same thing at around the £8 mark but I'm happy to pay an extra £2 for it to have the functionality with other Amazon devices. Also, I think it's a trust thing that I should be able to rely on Amazon.
Too expensive when there are cheaper, and probably just as reliable ones on the market. Also I can see the shape of it causing issues if your socket is low on the skirting board.
Ikea Tradfri for me, the only bonus on that amazon one is the switch on the side 😁👍, plus eventually, I say eventually they’ll be compatible with homekit, so say happening real soon, 🥴
I'm 31 and I don't get it.... so you buy a plug....to stick into a plug.... to plug into another plug.... to turn on your lamp...... that has a switch.....that works when plugged into a wall... And this thing costs how much???.... Don't get it. People are crazy.
Because people want the convenience of controlling their home without having to get up and turn switches on? Because people want their homes to be smart and set routines to control their entire houses at the press of a button or simple command? Because it’s 2020 and we’ve moved forward from VHS, penny farthings and coal driven engines.
@@StusReviewsUK all the light switches in my house are beside doors, or couches. Don't need to move anywhere to turn them on. Also, surely it takes longer to plug in the plug, turn on your phone, pair it to the thing... then it actually does to just click a switch lol. I'm not arguing about it, I just don't get it is all.

That’s right - you give them all individual names (Usually name them by the name of the appliance it’s connected to).
It looks like Amazon already set this up to work with your WIFI, same way they can set up additional Echo devices if you purchase directly from them.
Stunning, when i watch your videos, it's like watching Tomorrows World or Jonny Ball!! Keep up the good work!!
Id like a plug where by you can control it switching it on and off via an app on my iPhone, when out of the house.
And this one you can.
My tapo smart plugs can control when out of the home x

Just bought one today and having a little trouble working out how to set a timer to turn it on and turn it off, can anyone help please
Routines on the Alexa app 👌
How did alexa know that there was a plug and even control it ?

Welcome to the club 🥃👍
They often run promotions for 5$ a plug if you pay attention to Alexa emails

I’ve got a review of those coming next week... and then I’ll be doing a showdown! (To see which one is faster)!
well for the cost of this you can get 2 ikea ones and i trust ikea not to burn my home down so its hard to want this over them
Hi Stu... (love the wireless btw, can I have it) The plug is now available at £9.99, there is a banner on the Amazon page.
Why do you have to look up the price and be shocked. Didn’t you buy one that your demoing?
It's too bulky and wouldn't fit in my house because of the skirting boards.
You really should bleep Alexa ya donut.
lol you just turned my lamp on
I got one from Amazon for £7.99 and it’s much smaller than that.
i use sonoff plugs, £10 cheaper, look nicer, more features and work well with alexa.
Yeah you did !
5 bucks should be reasonable. Right?
What a nice man you are
Thank you.
£25 seems reasonable - there wasn’t any stress involved Stu (Steve) Lol 😂 they will probably be discounted on Black Friday 👍 thanks for the review.

They've priced it to be a bit cheaper than the Hive or whatever, but as you say, will probably be made properly
This product is currently on sale for prime customers on amazon for £9.99
Bro u activated my echo dot
