Imagine you’re living on the Minecraft planet as Alex when this guy, Steve, shows up & speed runs the whole story.

Broken reality
It might still be more efficient to fly in arches than to fly straight, to the point that it was (probably still is) possible to gain height on Java. The angle is 40° up and down, which is reasonable to measure with coordinates, and is f3 on Java.

I liked that in those lore videos - I honestly forget who made them, sorry, he's famous, I forget - one of the points was that Endermen were here before Steve, and they built a lot in the overworld, but then hid underground from the Wither and eventually went to the end where the wither couldn't follow, and now Steve is here and he has one advantage: he can respawn. So yes, dying is a tactic. In Minecraft only though, not in real life.
I think whatever Endermen USED to be, maybe did those things, or at least some of them. The Endermen we see now are not really advanced enough, be it physically or mentally, to do any of that.
I think Ender Pearls came first, Endermites followed and then Endermen were made, probably by The Ancients (the society of humans which built the Stronghold, Nether Fortresses, End Cities and now exist as Zombies)
@@gamerxavier8that’s racist 😜 humans didn’t do half of that. Piglins built the bastions, Guardians have the ocean temples, shulkers did the end cities, and the endermen are the only other ones smart enough to try and liberate the realms from the dragon while also being able to venture and survive in all three realms as well!

If you can angle down and angle up to extend flight distance, there might not be a need to stack up before taking off.
