I live in downtown Detroit in Lafayette Park, that is what is REALLY living in Detroit , been here for 16 years, absolutely love it. There’s no other place in Metro Detroit I’d rather be , so much to do, , and great neighbors, totally diverse and welcoming, and entertainment of any type as well as wonderful biking, walking trails. all the pro sports are a 15 minute walk away with endless restaurants, entertainment, museums., healthcare, Eastern Market, Riverfront, Belle Isle…We have an incredible view of the city, which is beautiful during the day but breathtaking at night from our 19th floor condo.
That is a great place to live for sure!
Like to see Taylor on a list in Wayne county. It's quiet and clean and access to restaurants and freeways. Never seem to have a crime issue here .
Taylor is nice, it's definitely not a city that's talked about much

Omg, there is No top places to live near Detroit. Try Oakland or Livingston County which is crowded now and it's going to cost you a fortune. Forget finding a house for under 500,000 in a decent area. More like 6-7. You are welcome.
I mean a little dramatic maybe? If you watched, some of these were in Oakland county! Livingston county is great too, avg price is around 450!
@@LivinginDetroitMi They're all Oakland County! Whatever you do, don't highlight Oak Park, with its new liquor licenses and new businesses or Clawson. And PLEASE don't feature Pleasant Ridge. Hahahahaha (Have fun with your next list! Big fan of Metro Detroit!!)
Yes that’s true! For some reason I was thinking I had Northville in there, I personally like that area more than some on “the list”.
