Yes I love Fenton. I moved there 7 years ago. So much nicer than the Detroit suburbs.

There's good and bad with the politics. People moving to the south don't properly understand just how bad the healthcare is down here and you tend to see that more with red states in my experience. I've spent most of my life in the south with a 6 year stint in the Midwest and i definitely wanna be back in the midwest more specifically the great lakes region. My major is accounting and literally ALL the great lakes states ranked better than Georgia for accountants. Yeah i could go to Atlanta but uh uh. Atlanta has a lot more competition for jobs compared to Detroit or Chicago or traverse City or even Columbus so not only is getting q job harder but very high probability it won't be sufficient for the cost of living in metro Atlanta.

I live in downtown Detroit in Lafayette Park, that is what is REALLY living in Detroit , been here for 16 years, absolutely love it. There’s no other place in Metro Detroit I’d rather be , so much to do, , and great neighbors, totally diverse and welcoming, and entertainment of any type as well as wonderful biking, walking trails. all the pro sports are a 15 minute walk away with endless restaurants, entertainment, museums., healthcare, Eastern Market, Riverfront, Belle Isle…We have an incredible view of the city, which is beautiful during the day but breathtaking at night from our 19th floor condo.

I left Michigan because my mother decided to leave and being a minor I had no choice. I hope someday I can move back to Michigan.

it is crazy a house built 1970 on a land 6k lot with little to nothing in being restored in 2000 at a price of 15k sold at auction 17k with little restoration put 20k wall as electricity in 3 moths jumped at 199k. - Pure Greed….

Like to see Taylor on a list in Wayne county. It's quiet and clean and access to restaurants and freeways. Never seem to have a crime issue here .

Stay away from the Medical Center if you can help it. Big, unresponsive, and totally disorganized. They might have smart, fancy doctors, but the patient experience is TERRIBLE.

Omg, there is No top places to live near Detroit. Try Oakland or Livingston County which is crowded now and it's going to cost you a fortune. Forget finding a house for under 500,000 in a decent area. More like 6-7. You are welcome.

I live in Michigan and love the seasons. For those that blame government... Michigan congress has been in control by Republicans for 40 years. The Governor has changed parties back and forth, but congress hasn't. Dems have only controlled congress for a couple years. For those that say they moved because of high taxes or low wages are simply putting blame on the wrong party. Some people prefer to live in states that don't pay taxes, but get flooded out every year. Doesn't sound cheap to me. Others like states that have low taxes, but take away your rights to your own body. What's that worth? Michigan has it's faults, but when you look at where it falls in the cost of living... it's pretty good. And you can go in the water, and not get eaten.

After spending my entire life in Michigan, and after 21 years in Traverse City, back in 2021 I retired and moved to South Carolina. Cost of living is so much cheaper here! Got out of the cold, but I do admit, would love to have a summer home in Michigan, but not in the cards for us. Summers in SC are HOT!

Worked rescue many years in this city it’s a shit hole. Beware!!! Corruption, racism, drugs,violence this is the detroit i know. these crime stats are the one’s that get reported keep that in mind many aren’t. The suburbs are fine not as much city cancer. Always have your head on a swivel.

The main reason is because prices have been jacked up so high on land and homes that nobody can afford to own one anymore unless you're filthy rich! Also people are beginning to realize that there are states that you can live in that don't charge state tax so that you get to keep more of your paycheck to cover your bills instead of going into debt.

35 years in CO moved back 7 years ago. MI has water and oxygen in abundance,.. no tornado's, hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, forest fires, sink holes, mudslides etc. housing and food are cheap, taxes not so

My husband and I were both born and raised in Michigan, now in the Monroe Area. One of the reasons I would never leave Michigan is because of our governing in this state. I love our governor and I love the fact that she is intent on protecting women's Reproductive Rights, she works for the people that live in Michigan not for the politicians who would like to rule. Anybody who is interested in preserving their rights as a human being should move to Michigan. You are welcome here.

I've lived in A2 over 50 yrs. Downtown charm ruined with big bldgs. It's always been a liberal toilet. I'd leave but family likes it. Small houses in the Crescents go for over 400 k High taxes. City officials promote downtown. Worked at u of mfor 45yrs. Now avoid it. Look at Scio Twnshp. Dexter, Chelsea. Small cities with charm. The city lives on Rainbows and Unicorns. Talk to city workers.too expensive for them to live here. Was OK until the 80s then exploded.traffic a.mess . Do your research before you move here. 😮

What's your gripe with Michigan⁉️ Guess it's good for those of us that choose to live here ...less people. I lived in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington and Florida back before they got ruined. I grew up in Birmingham and lived and worked in Ann Arbor. I came back to Northeast Michigan and love it. Quiet, easy living with Lake Huron and the AuSable River. I love the four seasons ‼️ Best kept secret in Michigan 🌅. Been through the UP many times. It's a trip but I wouldn't live there, too cold 😉. Best to you and thanks.

Only made it as far as No.2 DTE. Boy I'm on board like 250%. Ain't been in Michigan all of my life, but when I have that DTE has been a pain in the old hoots-gow, er, Hoots-cow(?), pain in the ass!! Had some lengthy wars with them, especially when was a homeowner. Had a neighbor once pirating power and they were charging me for what he stole! I could go on, but I won't - Love Ann Arbor. Partied there as a youth, smoking pot on the Quad, going to the Blind Pig, oh yeah. The Art Fair every year, but the No.1 attraction: Michigan Football.

I'm guessing the unspoken motivation for many there is like people leaving Madison, Seattle, Portland, Cali, etc. is ever increasing left wing lunacy especially following Covid. Even moderates on the left are sick of the growing authoritarianism and fascists in the blue no matter who cult. Peace, comrades!
