I find it funny you keep bringing up One Piece. The Japanese DBGT came out years before and the idea that Oda watched GT and go 'Hmmm turn into dolls, yeah gotta write that one down"
Do NOT listen to the title, simply hearing a youtuber recap the story and add their own commentary is not enought to warrant you "not having to watch the series". You cannot form an opinion simply from a recap, especially when the person recapping adds their own opinions into it. Go watch the series yourself, that's the only way to form a proper and unbiased opinion. Seriously, I've seen so many people in this community talk about shit they didn't watch and saw on UA-cam or TikTok or something. This is why the DB community has a reputation of not watching their own show. Go watch GT yourself, then decide whether it's good or not.
He did And I did Most of us here have watched some And the quality of this Compared to dragon ball or dbz is embarrassing. Dragon ball gt is what gave the community a bad name and watching this with comedy is like chilling with a friend. And I am spared from losing my high praise of the story’s
The problem with majority of GT fans is that they have never ACTUALLY WATCHED the show they sing the praises of. It’s an unbridled mess of plot convenience, repetitive humor, and random ideas. Some of those ideas are good, like baby and ssj4, but majority go nowhere. There’s a reason why just about every full length review of the show has it being dunked on.
Subbed for part 2 You’ll be at 1k subs in a couple days. Anyways Keep it up I subbed and added you to my notifications. Can’t wait for the rest. You’re hilarious. And dragon ball has some very racist aspects for sure But you make great comedy of it. 🙏🏼
Something I don’t get is, how did the Black Star Dragon Balls affect Goku in the first place? Dragon Balls can only affect people who are weaker than their creator. Even things like teleportation needs consent from the one who’s being teleported. Their only stated to be 2x as strong as the regular Dragon Balls and at this point Goku should be at least trillions of times stronger than Shenron. Even Raditz is stronger than a twice as strong Shenron.
I don't think the writers actually watched the series properly. I think they just read some summaries and watched a handful of episodes for reference. Issues with how strong certain characters should be are abundant throughout the show with no effort made to explain them.
@metazoxan2 did either if you watch the series. they are never stated to be 2x stronger than normal dragonballs They were created by the orginal namekian, Ultimate shenron is infinitely potent. His balls literally spread through the entirety of the universe
@@stevenldoe7838 Shut the hell up. You think I watched this crap in the last 10 years? It's been a long ass time. Also aside from the part about the one wish being "without restriction" everythign else you said was wrong. The Origional Namekian made SUPER Shenron. "Ultimate Shenron" also simply called red shenron or black star Shenron. Is entirely just made up as an excuse to get Goku off earth, so them traveling across the universe means nothing. Toei themselves stated this. Also no the Black Star balls were not made by "the origional Namekian". They were stated to be made by the nameless Namekian that split into Kami and Demon King Picolo. Which honestly doens' t make sense as splitting essentially meant the origional Namekian was gone and thus his dragon should also be gone. Especially after Picollo absorbed kami, destroying his dragon balls as well. But again GT wasn't entirely compliant with Dragon Ball's past lore. The wiki tries to claim the black star balls were reawakened by the fusion. But it was previously stated Picollo could not make dragon balls. That's why they brought Dende. P.S. my main point about power levels and consistency still stands.
@metazoxan2 so you admit you don't know shit because you haven't watched it in 10 years. The balls literally scatter across the universe. Baby states: "We meet at last, Shenron. I hope that one day soon my power exceeds your own." Even lord lud is stated to be universal. All that power backfilled to baby 1st embryo form. Baby absorbed rildo and billiona of ither people growing 2 more times before ever absorbing the saiyans. And super baby 2 is still weaker than Ultimate shenron. Piccolo is still a descendant of king Piccolo and he has kami inside him. Same aspect as dbz the balls disappear with him You know nothing about gt power levels
@@stevenldoe7838there’s literally no reason for it to be “infinitely potent.” Nowhere else in the series do we see that besides in super with the literal god of namekians, so having the nameless namekian make a god level dragon just because and then have that god level dragon just be sitting around the whole time from at LEAST cell saga to buu saga is bs writing.
The part I found frustraiting about GT was how hard they nerf'd the entire cast. But they play dumb and pretend they didn't. Oh you thought turning him into a child explained the nerf? Ha ha ... no because they very promptly start verbally stating various characters are more powerful than even Majin Buu. Not only does it not make sense for random aliens to be more powerful than the ancient evil that terrorized the entire universe without equal ... but they never come close to demonstraiting such power. We're just constantly told "No really trust us. THese guys are totally super powerful and amazing". The crazy part is since they're planet hoping ... they could totally have battles destroy planets and not need to repair each one with dragon ball wishes. BUt they don't, in fact they rarely destroy anything bigger than a building. It honestly feels like the writers just didn't want to deal with power scaling and decided to not even try. The reason it annoys me so much is it feels like the writers just think their audience is stupid and won't notice the power scailing is complete nonsense. The show's writing certainly didn't help matters.
Same problem with Super honestly. Like how Characters like Jiren are just randomly strong just because they are and dwarf beings like Buu just because the writers said he can with no explanation other than “he trained.”
@@phantaflame2889 Nah Super was better on that front because Jiren was a champion from another universe trained by a God of Destruction. Presumably even longer than Goku was. Think of it this way. He was almost like his universe's Goku. He was the strongest guy in his universe. IT's fine he was stronger than Buu because he was not in Buu's universe thus the two never fought. it wasn't just that Jiren tained. He was the greatest talent in his universe. I'm not saying Super is perfect. But it handles justifying it's power scale going above Z's better than GT did.
@@metazoxan2 Honestly I can see what you’re saying but Jiren’s power still doesn’t feel “earned” if that makes sense. I say earned in quotations because I guess you can make a similar argument for a lot of characters but with Jiren it just feels like the explanation given for as to why he’s so strong is just a bit lack luster. I mean correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember them ever mentioning Jiren actually training with his Destroyer. I know Toppo does of course but I don’t think they ever stated that Jiren did to my memory. As far as I can recall it was just that Jiren’s parents and master were killed so then he trained really hard and then became the universe’s strongest. Like huhhhhh?? That just feels like a huge jump you know? I know you could technically make the same argument for Goku considering he was weak when he was a kid (in comparison to current dragon ball anyway) but then grew ridiculously strong over time. But at least with Goku you can give satisfying reasons for it. Like training in the afterlife, gravity training, unlocking hidden transformations of his warrior race, training with his destroyer and Angel so on so forth. But with Jiren you don’t really get any of that if that makes any sense.
@@phantaflame2889 I see what you're saying but think of it this way. The fact Jiren makes you want to know more in order to understand him proves he's at least written in an interesting manner. In GT did you especially want to know more about say ... General Guildo? Did Goku's declaration he was stronger than Buu excite you or were you shaking your head because he clearly wasn't that strong? The other important aspect to this is presentation. GT's "Demonstration of power" was stuff like General Guildo turning into metal and covering a few city blocks with of space .... this apparently surpasses the guy that was shouting holes between dimensions. But with Jiren ... you felt imtimidation with every step he took. You felt stunned when he toyed with Goku and Vegeta like they weren't a threat to him. In fact it's only after this mysterious figure dominates our main cast that his God starts boasting about how incredible he is. His power may not be explained well but the presentation deserves an A+.
