- Is the Moog Minitaur still worth it in 2023? In this video I'll go over its basic features, so you be the judge, but if you ask me, it's definitely one of the fattest synths you can get at this price point.

Clear, concise and no B.S. - Thank you.
Thanks - that is the clearest intro on how to use the Minitaur that I have seen anywhere!
You're welcome! I appreciate you comment 🙂🙂
ngl moog minitaur is a sick synth no cap 😎@@optoproductions
Thank you for this!
Great video!
Dude, easily the most I’ve learned from any video in regard to synthesizers. Thank you so much!!
Awesome nice to hear that!
Thank you!
Nice one thx
Love your immediate go to is the lord of the rings theme. Thanks a lot. Great vid mate.
😄😄🙌
cool, thanks for the video! i have some trouble with the editor, it works and connects fine, but the preset browser has some issues, the hardware preset column list does not show correctly (no names, all called init). sound familiar?
Even after you press 'get'? I haven't encountered this, have you updated to the latest version? I'm not in my studio right now so I can't really try it out as I'm not in the studio for a while, but Moog itself could probably help you more with this.
Does the oscillator 2 beat frequency maintain the same pulsing or beating between the oscillators regardless of what pitch of note you play (like the Sub 37)? Most synths beat faster at high pitches and slow at slow pitches.
There's a sync option in the editor but I haven't used this, so I'd have to test that out
What a lovely rich tone. Reminds me of the Behringer Toro 😁 does this one have midi? Great intro to basic subtractive synthesis btw
Yes it has MIDI in, out only via USB though. 👍
Just get a midi splitter to fire off other synths
The first day I tried one of these, I couldn't get it out of my mind for years until I bought one. Many years later, I have perfected the guitar pedals to pair with it, and I still play it every chance I get! Regardless, you just showed me several ideas I never even considered on this thing...wow!
Nice man! What's your favorite pedal to pair it with?
@@optoproductions Probably the Bit Commander by Earthquake Devices...holy cow...wow...like, for real, this combo is a lot!
@@jasonharrington7521 ooh nice I bet that sounds great 😀
@@optoproductions it sounds like a monster! Sometimes it’s the small things though…adding a small EQ pedal right after the Minitaur, and using a non-powered mini-mixer to split out my effects in separate channels…I have much fancier pieces in my rig that are not half as enabling as my EQ and non-powered micro-mixer. You really get an amazing perspective on the Minitaur when you cancel a band on the EQ and realize every patch has a rich presence on every band...totally amazing to see old gear never lose relevance!
hello I am wondering what do you think about the behringer toro, would you buy this even if it costs more than twice the toro?
I haven't heard or used the Toro. The minitaur has a bit more options and a great editor so it depends if you need tose additional features. I would visit a shop and try it out for yourself. But behringer makes great products nowadays, ofcourse not physically build as solid as the Moog products but great value for the money.
@@optoproductions thank you!
Can one use an 88keyboard with this?
You can, but I believe the range is only 4 octaves, so it will just stop at a certain point.
Yes yes.. you sound very hollands
Yes thats fery tru ja
How many presets?
128 👌
@@optoproductions pretty good, thanks!
You know the Robert Moog pronounced the "oo" the dutch way, yeah? 😊
Now I know 😬
@@optoproductions yeah but it didn't get as far as the G...
