  • How to remove and install an OEM charcoal based Cabin Air Filter purchased from Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas on eBay. This is a simple procedure which can be performed in your garage. It's a similar procedure for 996 and 991 models, this video covers the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 Porsche 911, 997.

    Thanks for the how-to. Pleasantly surprised it was this easy to replace. Very similar to my old 135, but definitely not the cluster-F that was my old Jaguar XE.

    Am I seeing this correctly? His AIR FLOW direction arrows are pointing UP- but he SAYS the air flow is 'basically downwards'....? That is opposite of what he just did. He installed it with the airflow direction upwards.

      The airflow arrows are actually pointing down, sorry if the focus is not super clear. Essentially go with the "Air Flow" wording being right side up (vs upside down) and you will have your cabin air filter oriented properly. Good Luck.

      Agreed he installed upside down.

    On my 07 Carerra S there is also a latch on the driver's side of the air box. Just unlatch it. It's hard to see since it's under plastic coverings. I also have a small diameter black tube or wire that goes right across the front of the filter box from the bottom wire loom up into the cowling. I noticed your car doesn't have this. It's a lot easier without that tube. I'm not sure what is for either.

      Interesting, the black tube or wire could be for a windshield washer system? I no longer have the car, but glad you were able to figure it out.

      Yes same on mine plus as mine is earlier 997.1 on a 2005 plate filter is held in by metal bracket with 4 torx screws
      Bit of a tight fit but a bit of prodding and pushing it goes in.....
      All jokes aside..

    Looks nothing like the way my 07 997.1 fits...have a steel bracket over mine

    • @SirFixAlotAutos
      @SirFixAlotAutos  3 роки тому

      Ah yes, that bracket, you can see the removal in this video ua-cam.com/video/2nZKGMrL4hg/v-deo.html. Otherwise, the procedure is the same. My vehicle was an '08 997.1. I see the bracket as being useful if you are running without a hood, but seems like extra work..it does keep the flap firmly in place though. Happy Motoring.
