I know this video is a year old, but you don't have to remove the entire housing for the engine air filter. Just remove the three top screws and tilt out the clamshell for access. At 8:05 when you try to dislodge the old filter, just put your fingers in the intake whole at the end and pop the old filter out. No tools required.
I am showing two air filter changes 1) Engine air filter (single filter), and 2) Cabin air filter (single filter.) You can change one or both. Your owner's manual will tell you at which mileage is recommended to change these, but I usually change both at the same time, the filters are inexpensive.
If yours is the dual filter model, you will need to change both filters. My video only covers models with a single-side-mounted airbox. Here's a video that covers 2011-2013 models with a top mount dual filter intake ua-cam.com/video/236m4QyGZjs/v-deo.html.
That’s for a dual intake. The video is clearly a different engine and set up where the filters are under the cover. In the original video there is a side mounted filter box with 2 filters inside
Thanks for this. Getting into mine this week.

What are the filter numbers ?
Perform your parts lookup on FCP Euro: www.fcpeuro.com/Mercedes~Benz-parts/E350/?year=2014&m=20&e=2010&t=5&b=9&d=4518&v=&keywords=air%20filters
Are there always two air filters? Mine has only one (its a 2014 CPO purchased in 2017). Should I install the 2nd one?

There’s another filter inside the filter box besides the one that you changed. what is that filter and do you need to change it?

@@johnlancer5767 Same. Looks like there’s another filter element in the other half of the clam shell.
