@@gamerzone9093 Yes they did it. Once we had a normal Toon World continuous spell with no effect and cost of 1000LP to activate and no protection.
Then they did another version of it with a better activation cost and you could banish a card in order to protect it from destruction (which makes it much better than the original)
Reason why Steelswarm Hercules has a retrained ritual: LOOOOOREE
In the story of Duel Terminal, the Lswarm army was controlling the Gishki and tried to revive Herules using their rituals. Thus creating Zielgigas.
Thanks to Zielgigas, the Lswarm gained the upper hand in the war until they were destroyed by Master Diamond, the stronger of the Gem Knights.
And this kind of shit is why I want an anime about the card universe. The The war of the terminal, the Lswarm invasion, the shaddoll disease, the attack of the Qli, the birth of the Nekroz...
I wouldn’t consider Master Diamond to “win” that fight because of its Rank 4 corrupted retrain.

"Random retrain in another archetype"
The gishki rituals were all based on other monsters from Duel Terminal for context. Liked, them fused with gishki monsters or revived by gishki magic. They also committed genocide against the Gusto or something.
Duel Terminal lore is weird.
It makes sense when reading with every other archetype lore at the time, i think

It was the ice barriers that they genocided but they basically killed off the remains of the gusto, mist valley, lavals etc.

I love the Gishki segment because the more times he says Gishki Zielgigas, the more it sounds like Konami just combined random syllables to name it.
I’ve always loved ritual monsters. They’re my favorite type of monster by far for whatever reason lol.

Johnpaul Morrison I was fortunate enough to get back into the game after the master rule 4 restrictions had been reverted, and I saw how link monster arrows basically decided how many extra deck monsters you could bring out before and I’m just like, wow, that looked absolutely terrible. I bet pendulum monsters made a lot of players quit too.

Every time Duel Logs puts MAXX in a video and praises it I get hit with confusion because I mix up him with dzeef for a moment.
Duel logs is too busy talking about "duel links" which really is the children's card game real Yu-Gi-Oh fans get dumped with. Dzeef that boi need a slap aswell. One of the most toxic Yu-Gi-Oh UA-camrs out there.

How is Dzeef toxic?
Cyberse Magician and Cyberse Wizard were used in the anime. Wizard was used in Episode 2 (The first "official" duel in that series (VRAINS)) to defeat the opponent. Forced the enemy Cracking Dragon to defense mode to allow Decode Talker to beat over the foe. That was likely the reason why it got a ritual retrain.
Also, I have some ideas for lists: 10 revival cards, and cards better than their retrains.
Cards better than their retrains would be easy Monster Reborn, Pot of Greed, Giant Trunade etc. loads of spells have weaker retrains.
Your sort of right but a thing Vrains did was to give the main characters boss monsters from the other summoning methods rituals included and Cyberse Magician was his ritual monster

I like to play a chaos, ritual and blue-eyes hybrid deck and never even knew about magician of chaos. I'm definitely picking a copy or two up for the deck; he's an awesome card
Hercules is iconic because of Duel Terminal lore and wizard is siconic because it is the first card the protagonist uses in the Vrains show.
Not the first card, but it enabled him to win and there was a later episode based around it.

I love those Chaos Max Monsters so much. :D But there was another case in which a ritual monster got an effect retrain. Magician of black chaos was remade into Dark Magician Of Chaos.

Nephthys is the name of an Egyptian goddess. She is also the older sister of Horus, which is kinda neat considering how similar the card art of the Horus cards look

Looking at Phoenix of Nephthys it's effect is actually pretty nice with Hand Traps or even just card based destruction being the main way to take things out. Still not the craziest monster but surprisingly useful with how destruction has changed from mostly battle to mostly card effects.
(Also I think if you were to destroy Nephthys Phoenix in your hand for a card effect it's effect might activate. Meaning you get a free monster next turn which is basically "immune" to effect destruction, but if not then dang...)

I just realized, Summoned Skull is the only card that have an effect(always threated as an archfiend card) but is still a normal monster, considering we have cyber harpie lady

It's the other way around actually. The text stating that Summoned Skull is an "Archfiend" card is not an effect, nor is the text stating that Cyber Harpie Lady is always treated as "Harpie Lady" an effect, so Cyber Harpie Lady actually belongs to the exclusive club of effect monsters that do not have an effect (another example would be Elemental HERO Mudballman), which causes weird rulings with cards like Infinite Impermanence.
Nice video, it's good to see someone talk about rituals, but Unicore isn't limited anymore

Oh. And thanks for doing a list on Ritual monsters. Ritual summoning is my favorite summoning method, tied with synchro summoning, and it just needs more love.
Understandably, this might have been recorded before the banlist, but just a small update: Nekroz of Unicore is actually back to 3 copies. So we have full-power Nekroz back in the game.
If this was expanded to just all extra deck retrains, Shaddolls would cover quite a few spots.

You can also use secrets of dark magic to ritual summon archfiend’s awakening or any of the ritual spells that have the ability to ritual summon any other ritual monster

Btw, Fableds are my favorite deck and Trish and Brio are my favorite synchros so even though Nekroz killed them, they're my favorite meta deck (historically meta not rn, obviously) since they kind of represent them. Not sure people would know about Fabled Unicore or Fabled Valkyrus without them.

Video idea: top 10 cards that are downgraded versions of banned cards (like tradetoad or the various pot of greed retrains) if there aren't enough, you could still go for top 10 retrains that are worse than the original card

I will always love the things that the Doriado cards can do. Besides Dark Doriado playing very nicely with Awakening of the Possessed in particular and Charmers in general, I have a reasonably fun Normal Beatdown deck with Enchanting Fitting Room and Level 3s like Mad Lobster and Tune Warrior. A Normal Summoned Dark Doriado sets up the Fitting Room perfectly. From there, you can activate her in the Pendulum Zone if you have another one to give everything else 1000 ATK, or Link/Synchro Summon everything away to use Palace of the Elemental Lords for the ATK boost. Either way, you can use the Archnemeses from there. Of course, Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan is also in there; Elemental Mistress Doriado comes out thanks to Pre-Prep, and again, the Normal Monsters are Level 3 for ease of summoning.
It's only fun but Mistress + Dark in the Pendulum Zone + Awakening = 3700 ATK on Mistress. At the very worst, you can use her for Spellbook of Knowledge if you don't have Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan. I've found that the deck's lack of active ways to exploit Mistress' multiple Attributes is a big problem.

Hercules came out first. Basically, the Gishki tried their ritual assimilation tactic on the Steelswarm . . . who are basically Duel Terminal's own zombie apocalypse. It didn't go well.

Part of the issue people seem to be having with this video, is the difference between an actual retrain, and a different/revived/story progressed/altered/corrupted monster. It's kinda how there's Winda, Priestess of Gusto who is also a part of Daigusto Guldos, and then later transformed into El Shaddoll Winda.
A retrain is more like a monster similar to the original with some differences, whilst keeping to a certain theme or spirit the original embodies. Black Luster Soldier is a perfect example of a monster that's been properly retrained a bunch, having Envoy of the Beginning (non-ritual, Effect monster, Chaos retrain), Sacred Soldier(non-ritual, Effect monster, Chaos adjacent), Soldier of Chaos (Link monster, not actually Chaos related. And also Earth, like the original)...
And finally, Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier is a ritual retrain of a ritual monster, which is perhaps the one that most fits being a retrain - it is basically just original BLS with an effect and also pays homage to the original BLS' first anime appearance, where Gaia the Fierce Knight was used as tribute.
Special note that Toon BLS is probably not a retrain, so much as just a toonified corruption of Envoy - one that reverts it to Earth and strips out the double attacking (then again, it can freely attack directly most of the time anyways).

I have a deck that discards quickly and runs every monster as a different name (1 copy) and a different attribute for each card as well as I can.
The 2 boss monsters for WinCon are "elemental Doriado Grace" in this video along with that dragon (I can't remember his name) that requires different monster names in GY. Similar to Doriados effect If using 1 copy each like I said

Cyberse wizard actually is an iconic crad. It got used as one of the strong main deck monsters in the Anime YuGiOh Vrains by the main character so the retrain of it makes sens.

A lot of the retrains makes sense when looking at the lore.
Plus let's be honest. Cursed Dragon isn't so out of place as main deck retrain of an old ritual monster. There are enough examples of it for it to not be unexpected.

You should do a top 10 list that compare the anime/manga/movie cards compared to there OCG/TCG
For example when Card of Sanctity when compared to the anime not only was it completely different but you had to banish your hand then draw 2 cards compared to both players draw until they have 6 cards.
He did that with "anime cards better than ocg/tcg. I think your ex. is #10 or #9.

About Blue eyes chaos MAX dragon:
You can search him and Chaos form by banishing the two little luster soldier monsters (The Light and the dark lvl 4 with 2K def), since one is light and the other dark and you can banish them with either CHaos monsters or even a BLS Ritual card, you can search this guy and chaos form in a BLS deck.
And since its lvl 8 with chaos form you can either ritual summon BLS or this guy using the other one if you have both in the hand, and I suppose Magician Chaos MAX too.
IMO, the advantage of OE Gravity Dragon is the opponent has to pay 500LP first before they even activate effect or card, so it would lock them down or even make them lose first, while RE Flare Metal Dragon would inflict 500 damage after the effect resolves which makes them get some relieving condition, like can recover more LP first before take 500 damage

Sometimes, as someone who recently decided to get into the TCG, I hear about these cards and have to wonder if the people who create them actually play the game that they create these cards for
I had an idea: magical rituals can be used for more then summoning things… communication, precognition, empowering/weakening, creating/destroying, mind control, time control, ect…
So how about a spell/trap that activates whenever a ritual card is used, to provide any other benefits in the event of a complete ritual, or instead of summoning the usual ritual monster? Draw cards, see into hands/decks, banish/unbanish cards, destroy them or retrieve them from the graveyard, buff/debuff monsters/spells/traps/players, etc….
Duelogs and rata are literally the Reason why i came back to Yu-Gi-Oh After 10 years.
