I have seen those Waymo cars for 3 years anytime I visit San Francisco on weekends and I still don't know about trying one out. I would have to close my eyes. Last year they were having problems operating in thick fog and heavy rain. They also couldn't understand what a construction zone was. And for some crazy reason, some of them would drive onto Muni tracks (the light rail train system in the city) and stop. But I haven't heard of those problems in about a year. So I guess those kinks have been resolved. Last month there were problems at parking garages where they go to park for the night....they would blown their horns at each other as they were trying to get parking spots. All the honking horns kept the neighbors up. But that's been resolved now.

Loving the videos, glad you are enjoying San Francisco! We went in August and loved it!! Even though we weren’t sure whether to go or not because of its reputation but so glad we did!! We took a Waymo three times and found them to be brilliant!!! Felt very safe in them and they were all very quick and dropped us off at the exact point each time.

Buena Vista Café is credited with being the first to introduce Irish coffee to the USA in 1952. The owner at the time, a newspaper columnist and the SF Mayor did a number of trial-and-error mixes until the columnist was satisfied the drink matched what he had drank back in Ireland. To date it is estimated that the Café has served 30,000,000 Irish coffees.

The fact that stuff can go wrong such as a rudder actuator jamming or the throttle sticking at max on an articulated 30 ton truck isn't a valid argument for allowing driverless cars or pilotless aircraft.

That taxi was amazing but I don't think it would work in the UK because the English are used to the moaning taxi driver's that get a cob on when you ask them to help you with your shopping and then dumping it all on the ground before them driving off with a pissed off face, anyway great video Macmaster so thanks 😊

Passenger aircraft & all aircraft including military aircraft have various levels of manual override where the pilot gets to determine direction, height & speed or take full manual control if required when required.
It's been possible since the 60s to do a completely automated aircraft with no pilot required, it isn't done for various reasons & aircraft have always had the functionality for full pilot control.
The fact that stuff can go wrong such as a rudder actuator jamming or the throttle sticking at max open on an articulated 30 ton truck / lorry on the motorway isn't a valid argument for allowing driverless cars or pilotless aircraft.

I think keeping the steering wheel would help as I'm sure there must be a manual over ride. This would assist in repairs, maintenance or general upkeep of the vehicle. 😊
