The other thing about a Chinese Subway is that it links with the High Speed Rail Network, meaning in theory you could go "Point to point (Building to building) between different cities on Electric power only.
E-Bike, or E-Cab to the metro, link to HSR, then the reverse at your destination.
    .
Then of course there's the cost to use the system.
Many in the West try to force a narrative of "Low wages in China". BUT, the availability and low cost of Public Transport and other services means you really don't "need" personal transport, which reduces the cost of living and raises quality of life.

Why metro in Moscow is the best:
    1. You can make a payment using FaceID without any stops for payment or waiting in line. The camera will do everything for you.
    2. Only Soviet stations look old like "old wine". New ones are so amazing and futuristic. And each station has its own theme. For example, there is a station with a complete history of TU series aircraft or a station with free books of world classics.
    3. New trains with all you need: usb-chargers, displays with touch screen with maps of the metro and the city, and any info that could help you.
    4. Man/woman voice calls station name depends on the direction you ride.
    5. Trains run strictly on schedule with an interval of 1 minute and 40 seconds and are never late. There is a timer at each station and the train arrives to the nearest second.
    6. The metro is mostly underground, but there are places where it becomes aboveground and aboveground.

New York's subways are not maintained at all, and American money is used to produce weapons and bombs. Russia's subways are beautiful and museum-like, but not practical. The subway needs to be electronic, modern and standardized in order to be built quickly. The most important function of the subway is transportation. Have you been to the Great Wall in Beijing? It was built in China more than 2,000 years ago. At that time, there was no mechanical equipment and it was all made manually. The total length of the Great Wall is 21,196 kilometers. It was a miracle in ancient times. The Chinese actually realized it. Therefore, the Chinese have had the gene of "infrastructure mania" since ancient times. It has continued into modern times. The United States brings war to the world, and China brings infrastructure and peace to the world.

Chinese subway systems often surpass American systems in areas like modernity, punctuality, cleanliness, and affordability. Some individuals prefer American systems due to lower concerns about data tracking and surveillance compared to the high-tech monitoring in many Chinese subway systems. Chinese cities have built extensive, efficient networks with state-of-the-art infrastructure in a relatively short period. The "better" system depends on priorities and perspectives. Nd Unlike many Chinese subways that stop running late at night, the NYC subway operates 24/7, offering unmatched convenience.

In defense of NYC rail systems in comparison to some countries in Asia it is better than Bangladesh and just as good as India the largest democracy in Asia. NYC rail has lots of interesting looking people you never get bored with the craziness, interesting smells, iconic wildlife/rodents that make NYC subways home makes you feel like your in the zoo and the crumbling infrastructure gives NYC character like wrinkles on a elderly person. There's also a sense of danger to walking around those subways for those thrill seekers looking for adventure

Another great thing is you can throw your rubbish on the floor and everywhere can used as a toilet what really takes the stress away from searching for a trash bin or restroom and if your feeling tired or don't have a place to stay the subway is a great place to sleep especially in those cold winter nights. For those movie lovers you can pretend your the character Snake from Escaping New York as our subways looks just like the dystopian landscapes from the film. No, London.... (Short and dirty, but the first)
      From "Le internet"
The first line of the Paris Métro was opened in *1900* , but *PLANS* to build an underground railway were hatched long before, in 1855.
Engineers Edouard Brame and Eugène Flachat proposed a line to serve the market at Les Halles, but the project failed to win approval.
*So while London opened its subterranean Metropolitan Railway on 10 January 1863, and Berlin opened the U-Bahn in 1871, it wasn’t until 1896 that the Parisian authorities gave the go ahead for an underground transport system*
It was Fulgence Bienvenüe, a Breton engineer, who impressed with his electric underground railway. Quite literally a ground-breaking project, work began to bash out the necessary tunnels on 4 October 1898.
The new railway might have been a star in the Universal Exposition in April 1900, but inevitably there were delays on the line. Finally, on 19 July 1900, the Métropolitain railway carried its first passengers between Porte Maillot, in the west of the city and Porte de Vincennes, in the east.

      @George-k6o9t Місяць тому

@@CptNemo-l3s It is easy to do a search online for the historical development of the railway system to find that -
George Stephenson, an English engineer, developed the first successful steam-powered locomotive and laid down the world’s first public railway to use steam locomotives. His work on the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825 and the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in 1830 were pivotal moments in railway history.
Richard Trevithick, another British engineer, built the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive in 1804. Although his early locomotives were not as successful for passenger transport, they laid the groundwork for future developments.
Following on from those, the world’s FIRST Metro system was developed in London as a natural progression from Trevithick's and Stephenson's inventions and subsequent innovations. The London Underground, also known as the “Tube,” began operations on January 10, 1863.
France didn't get into the picture until much later - some 37 years later - in Paris with the Paris Metro in July 1900, coinciding with the World's Fair in Paris of that same year.
So, no - the British were first. We learned this actually in school as well back in the 1960s (I am giving away my age).

I live in NYC and I see guys peeing and pooing on the subway platforms at least 2-3 times a month. Once when the subway door opened and I saw and smelt the poop coming from a guys ass. One of the most traumatic sensory events in my life🤮

Subway stations in China are really boring cause they all look the same and nothing exciting happens such as 🐀 🐁 🐭 running around 😂

It is suppose to be efficient n right on time...bringing high vol passengers from point A to B....so do you really need to spend much on intricate designs?

"They all look the same"? Really?
I'd take Clean, safe, and basically "fantastic" over "exciting" any day.

Subways and the stations are to provide efficient transportation to the people. Not entertainment stations and children theme parks.
People don't stay in the subway station to be entertained. They're there to board a train to where they are going.
So, you mean US subway stations are interesting with all the walls painted with colorful graphics?
