My nose runs A LOT in cold conditions, so I bought some fleece head bands from Outdoor Research and cut and hemmed them for a snug fit around the wrist of my mittens (but loose enough not to affect circulation). Now after I do the open-air blow I can wipe my nose on the soft fleece of the "snot band". When part of the band gets too gross I just rotate it to access a new clean area. I bring multiple bands so I can change them out as needed. And best of all, I only have to wash the bands instead of having to clean the whole mitten or glove.

We call that maneuver the "farmer's blow". Indeed, mind the angles so you don't get covered, lol!

This is an important real life problem that isn't easy to solve.
I've never mastered the snot rocket technique.
So I carry a "linen-weight" paper napkin in cold weather. It is strong like a paper towel, the right size, comes in colors, and I can throw it away when it gets nasty.
It's better than a bandana or handkerchief (because I can throw it out or burn it).

It's a tough one for sure. I've had to master the sneeze technique, it's awkward for sure.

Nothing more annoying than that runny nose in cold weather. Canadian Army mittens had fuzzy backs that could be used to either hold against the cheek to try and warm it but more often than not it would be used to catch a runny nose about to drip if nothing else was handy. Quieter than snorting it out. Just wipe it off in the snow. Probuably helped that it was white so if you had that clear snot on there it wouldn't show as easily as a dark colour.
Also agree that fleece on those gloves you showed is meant for goggles, which is why it is so soft, but I am sure it is used to catch drips as well.

Hay Aaron, question do you keep your exped pad rolled up when not in use or keep it flat? Thank you 👍

I keep the Exped loosely rolled in the closet so it's not compressed.

That bit of fabric on the glove is for wiping your goggles 🥽 😂 Snot rockets 🚀 are what you are supposed to do. If you can carry a bandanna of buff to wipe the runny nose 👃
