- I'm late with an update, but I didn't fall off the face of the planet! I promise I won't go 8 months between videos again :)
I had RNY Gastric Bypass on December 1, 2020 at Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Rodriguez Lopez.

Well done! I'm 7.5 years out from my mini-gastric bypass. I've been very fortunate. I'm still yo-yoing but am happy that I am very healthy. No diabetes, low blood pressure and low chorestorel - no medication at all. I am overweight but in the process of losing the last 50 pounds - seems a lot but I had over 220 pounds to lose. We've moved to Portugal from the UK - we have now retired in the sun and basically I'm half the size I was when I started. I still take supplements and manage my MGB. Good fortune to you!

Girl, you lost 175lbs! You look fantastic..more importantly you’ve made so many wonderful changes…I’m praying I’m as successful as you physically and mentally!
My surgery is next Monday….November 27th…I’m nervous and excited . I’m really glad I’ve watched your journey, you have answered so many of my questions and calmed my fears.

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today….I’m 18 months out and have stayed at this weight seems like forever. I’ve been really upset about not losing more. My doctor is happy where I’m at. That should be enough for me. I just need to get my head around it. Thank you for sharing!

Being one month out and watching your previous videos, glad to see this update. The surgery is not a quick fix process. Changes to my lifestyle are required and I have learned this fast.
You should be proud of yourself with all you have going on with the stress and not gaining more is a win!

Did you get the bypass or sleeve done? Just wanted to know because I’m thinking about getting the bypass with Dr. Ceja at MBC.
@@victoriaandres9946 I got a mini bypass with dr. montalvo. no complications. know that the after is the biggest struggle, if you can mentally prepare for that, then you will be fine. make sure to do your research. and by biggest struggle (for me personally) it has been all mental hurdles. nothing physical.

I have looked on your channel for months for updates. So it was wonderful to see you. Thank you for updating on your job change. It sounded like a very stressful time. Glad you made the choice to put yourself first, before your job. I am waiting for a surgery date to have the bypass. Your experience has helped me so much. Your trip to Ireland sounded great! Aww! Good for you, honey! Im so happy that you are enjoying your life again. So sorry about your furry son, my condolences. Do you and what feels right, always..... unless it involves a case of thin mint cookies, then do moderation! lmao Anyway, thank you so much for the update (I was one of the people who asked for one). I too, am trying to concentrate more on the effects the surgery has had on my abilities and health rather than what is or isnt happening on the scale. I was 59, post menopausal and insulin resistant when I had my RNY 18 weeks ago and the weight loss has been slow, to say the least. However, my abilities and mobility were back to almost normal in about 8 weeks. And although I do want to lose a few more pounds for my own additional personal confidence and vanity, if I didnt lose another pound, I would be happy to have had my surgery just for the mobility, health benefits and ability it has already afforded me. Weight loss now, to me, is just the frosting on the sugar free, fat free cake! 😂
Omg I was so happy to see a video from you. First, let me say how sorry i am about the loss of your furry buddy😪❤. I feel like your shadow... except for the marriage part lol...I'm way past that stage in life. I've had the exact struggles with work balance, and I'm 2. 5 years post RNY also and up 8 lbs. I've accepted the gain also and am maintaining. It's where my body needs to be. I love your insight and your honesty. All the best with moving on and all the wedding planning. I discovered your channel during your break away - I’ve been waiting for your return. You helped me gain the courage to care for myself and I had my VSG surgery last week, Thursday, 8/10. 6 days post op and doing my darnedest to rest and recover and take it all in baby steps. Seeing you back made my heart smile, sis!
May your new journey with work keep you work a good sense of much needed balance. So crazy, after 18+ yrs in a role, I accepted a huge promotion in a new Dept - not entirely ideal timing considering my surgery was already scheduled - but hey - SELF CARE 1st!! That's an incredible update! You should be so proud of the amount of stress you went through without regaining weight. I'm sure we can all relate to stress eating and it sounds like you've coped with everything life has thrown at you beautifully. Oh Stephanie, thank you for your update. I always learn so much with the wisdom you share. Change is difficult, but I am so glad you prioritized balance. I’m sorry you had to let go of your precious cat. I still miss one of my cats so much, she was special. I realize she died over 20 years ago! Thank you about the reminder that this is really a mental game. I finally have a surgery date for the gastric bypass next month. I’m rewatching your early videos to help prepare. Oh, and a Disney wedding 2/4/24! Very cool!

I had my check-up last month! I had been losing too much weight! I'm down to 137 😮. Total loss 140#

I've recently started following you from the UK and I just want to thank you. I am currently on the NHS waiting list for gastric bypass and you have been so helpful and easy to watch. the things that I related to the most was week 6 and 7 when you referred to losing 'new weight' I think I shouted YES at the tv😂. being a yoyo dieter(not sure if you have that expression in the states) basically weight going down then back up and a bit more for years and years.. I can really relate to that. I thought I was just me that felt like that. anyway thank you so much again. I am just about to watch your week 8 update. Well done and keep going. I cannot wait to have my bypass and I know I will re watch your videos at each week of my progress. ❤😊 Tina xx

OMG Stephanie! I have missed you girl. I have been worried about you with your absence from UA-cam. I'm so happy that things are working out for you. I didn't remember that you were getting married at Disney, how exciting! I am so relieved that you have found balance in your life and are happy again. Money isn't everything, especially if the bills can be paid and there is enough left over to tuck a little away for a rainy day. I'm glad you were able to make the hard decisions and do what was right for you. I know that wasn't easy (I've had to walk away from a past teaching job that I loved but it was creating too much stress in my life), so good for you dear. I am very sorry to hear about your beloved pet. It's hard to lose them and so unfair that they don't live as long as we do. At least he isn't suffering anymore. Well, please try to update us every month or so, I truly get so much out of your videos and I appreciate the time and energy it takes to make these videos. Yo go. I just had the slave two weeks ago. You do what you want.
I really feel for you with the cat situation. We went through the exact same thing with our cat who was also 12. We kept throwing money after all of the tests and treatments the vet could think of. Finally, the vet told me that the cat was suffering and we had to put her down that day.

Start at the website for the place you are interested in, they will have the steps you need to take to move forward.
Hi, I’ll be getting my bypass on April 17th 2024 I saw one of your other videos where the dumping situation was going on. Do you still get dumping?
Hi! I don't personally get dumping in the same way as I did in that video, but I still sometimes have an unpleasant experience and feel a bit ill if I eat too much sugar. It still goes away after 15-20 minutes, though.
You probably could have transitioned to a supervisor position in another company or department.
I think when you take that on in a position you are already known as an expert- people take advantage and you can’t be get rid of the assumed expertise given by your colleagues after. You also can’t continue your old work load - that’s crazy.
What do you do for a living?
Girl if you don’t want to give your stats, don’t. You don’t owe anybody anything! You got this.
