Thank you so much for this video. I'm going through it now and it is upsetting. I'm 6 months post op and it's good to know it will get better, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I had gastric bypass in October and my hair loss has just started to slow down. Yes, I lost a lot of hair and my hair looked like it was getting thin. But you know what, so am I!!! I’m down 84 lbs and would do it all over again.
You're so close to 1000 subs! MY hair loss started way later then everyone's that I had seen mention it. It went on for three months and it forced me to wash my hair way less and my hair looks so much healthier then it had. i still have super oily hair but baby power takes care of that.
SO CLOSE lol. My hair has also always been pretty oily so it makes washing it less frequently a bit of a pain. I haven't tried dry shampoo - some people swear by that between washings.
I lost hair during my WW years from just regular weight loss. People freak out after WLS but its because its the hyper-focused topic. It was never even discussed at WW, we were just worried about finding the lowest zero point salad dressing on the shelf. Great video!
It's definitely true, the hair loss can happen for a lot of different reasons but is such a HUGE focus of people in regards to WLS probably because it's talked about, so people are hyper aware of it going in.
Always use a microfiber towel and comb your hair with a large comb not a brush!! Make sure you take your vitamins! Do not dye your hair during this process. Keep it chemical free. My hair is to my waist. I had sleeve 8 months ago and some has thinned but I’m doing as much as possible to keep from losing as much as I can ❤
I lose as much as your hair ball every time I brush my hair. Thank goodness I started with a load of thick hair. I just hope it slows down soon because it’s getting thin now.
This is my biggest fear looking at VSG surgery. I have been thinning up front for years and cant really afford any more loss. Thank you for this video.
That is my fear too - have thin fine hair, thinning at the crown and as my hair is white - it shows my pink scalp. I am just getting things lined up for a surgery and am so nervous.
Awesome video! Pixie cut works for me! My hair was thin before surgery! I am suffering from the arm flap! I can now fit cute clothes but the wings are so ugly!
I'm trying to embrace my flappy arms lol. I'm slowly starting to let them hang out more and more, and I imagine as the summer gets here and it gets hotter, I'll eventually say SCREW IT and let them fly free haha
I mean...that's just not a true statement. It's high in starch but is not JUST starch. It's also a fairly good source of fiber. The outside of the kernels are not easily digestible, but that's hardly the only part of corn. It's no leafy green, but come on.
I have naturally EXTREMELY thick hair and I always would complain how long it took to wash and dry and style. Every stylist I’ve gone to has basically charged me double for the service. But now Ive lost 75% of my hair… and still falling. I hate this surgery in every form of its existence. I feel terrible all the time.. my knees don’t hurt anymore from my weight but that’s all. I hear the word food and I panic from knowing I’m gonna feel sick after and probably throw up. I know many people who are so happy with the surgery but it didn’t work for me. Mentally emotionally and physically I am in actual regret.
Reddit sent me here. So informational, thanks. I'm almost 3 months PO and I just started noticing really bad hair loss. I'm thinking about cutting it really short, pixie or bob. Still debating haha. Do you think dying it will make it worse?
Oh my gosh, it's exciting and terrifying to hear I was mentioned on reddit lol welcome! I cut mine shorter with lots of layers and felt like it helped me at least stay sane. I would worry the stress from dying it would damage the hair and potentially nake it worse - could be a good question for the hairdresser to be sure but keeping what you have healthy and strong is probably the best bet to ride it out. The more dramatic stages of my hair loss didn't last too extremely long and it's certainly growing back great now thankfully!
My hair is snail 🐌 growing right now haha but I excited about the baby fly aways haha 😂 hair loss is for sure a mental health! It’s truly sad but we got this!
To be fair, not everyone does! But yeah, the odds are good there will be some loss. Just focus on meeting your protein and calorie goals. People get so worried about "eating too much" after surgery and try to keep their calories super super low, and sometimes it's inevitable because you're re-learning how to eat and you're at the mercy of your body, but getting proper nutrients and fueling your body is important too, not just weight loss. Those things affect hair loss too. You've got this! Mine didn't make me look like gollom, it was just a bit thinner, so hopefully that would be the case with you too!
@@1FatBeet thanks so much for replying! Honestly at this point im willing to lose hair to be able to play with my kids again. Its 100% worth it. Ill make sure to meet protein/calorie goals if i can! Im hoping this surgery will relieve me of all my stomach/intestinal problems. Most of what i have is paralyzed (85% of my stomach and the first 7 inches of my small intestine is also paralyzed) so this is both for weightloss and as a possible cure for gastroparesis. 🙌

Congrats, that's amazing! Great progress and I agree, I would do it all over again even if there's some hair loss and loose skin!

@@1FatBeet try rubbing baby powder into your hair... it 100% works without that filmy feeling

Corn on the cob is just starch. Corn isn't even digestible, unless you eat it in the milk-stage, before being ripe. It just tastes good.

why did u do bypass and not sleeve?
I’ll take the liberty to answer, with my example. For,me was not possible to a sleeve because I had acid reflux
@@Janecas thanks i didnt know that was a thing
