When we used to tear edges of our art in the late 60s we would use a lighter and burn them for this edged look then decoupage the art to other surfaces. Now, of course, your looks much prettier!
Hi there. I used to do that too. I actually set off my smoke alarm a few times...lol...Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Isn't the cardboard the same one that comes inside some shipments? Shipments also have some that has a raised dotted texture which is also fun to use..
I am ticked! I never got this last week and I thought you didn’t send out a video. I was watching your last video with the three dimensional peacock and thought I should check your playlist, and there it was. It’s the first time that happened and hope it’s the last. Anyway, I love this craft with its beautiful muted colors I favor. I am also excited seeing you one step away from 30,000! I’ve been there with you since the beginning and I couldn’t be happier for you. It’s been a wonderful ride so far. Here’s to the next 30!
Hello my wonderful friend! I always love all the wonderful things you tell me. You always seem to make my day! Yessss soooo close to 30,000. Another couple of weeks and I should be there. You have been there with me through this whole journey. It's been so nice having you along with me 🤗🥰💖Thanks so much for always being there 😊💖
That's really odd. Must have been some kind of a glitch. I've been doing one every week, on Sunday mornings. If you don't see a video just check my channel. If I skip a week for some reason, I'll let you know 🥰
Hi Nancy my friend! Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Peacock is next week! Thanks for always watching and taking the time to send me messages 😊💖
Hi Felicia! You are very welcome and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! That's awesome that you found me because of Decoupagenapkins.com I love them too, aren't they amazing? Thank you for subscribing, I love making crafty new friends! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Hello from Zephyrhills Florida USA this is my first mixed media art video I’m very interested in learning this technique. I’ve loved all of your videos I’ve watched and always feel very inspired and very ready to try once I’ve watched your tutorials. Thank you for the inspiration and sharing your talent.
Hi Sarah! Thank you and I'm happy you're enjoying my videos! And I love it that they inspire you to get crafty. Let me know if you ever have any questions. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
This is beautiful! I can't tell you how excited I am to try this! I'm a beginner, but I'm inspired to work up to it! I just love your channel, it's fun and relaxing to watch ❤ The peacock project sounds awesome! How about something with flamingos and kind of tropical? I'm Jodie from North Carolina 😊
Hi Jodie! Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! I'm thrilled to hear you say such wonderful things about my channel, thank you so much. I just finished up the peacock project. It will be out Sunday morning. I can't wait for you to see it. I'll work on something flamingo/tropical. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Hi Jane, thanks so much! There are a bunch of fun techniques in this one. Which ones are you going to give a try? Thanks again for watching and sending me messages 😊💖
Hi Melody! Thank you and I'm happy you're enjoying my videos. I have plans to do a mixed media bottle in a future video. Hopefully that will give you some inspiration. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Hi Catherine! Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! You could mix some silver and gold paint together and sponge that around the edges. Or you can use just gold or silver without mixing them. I mixed them because that was the color I was going for. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Hi Linda! Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! I'm a fan of mixed media as well. I'll be doing more! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Hi Bonnie, thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed this video. I enjoy sharing my ideas and thrilled when someone enjoys the video. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to send me messages 💖😊
Hi Laura, I'm actually working on it right now! Hoping to have the video completed and edited by next Sunday. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Mason Creations, that is the best Mixed Media project that I have ever seen. You make the instructions easier to understand and not intimidating. Please do more of this kind of work.
Hi Evelyn, Thank you so much. This is one of my favorite projects too. It's hanging in my bedroom. I'm so glad you found my instructions easy to follow and understand. That's so important to me, so I appreciate the feedback. I will note your request. I always end up doing a lot of mixed media. It's my favorite thing to do. Thanks again for watching 😊💖

🇨🇦👋 Good Sunday morning Donna! 💐 Finally able to catch up. This video is on my saved list to follow when I can spend more meaningful time in my studio creating my Christmas/ Birthday gifts. I’ve missed spending time with you. QUESTION: Do you sign/stamp your identity on the back of your projects? Many have asked this of me, but I find this so vane. Thoughts?
Hello Ginette my fabulous friend! You'll have to let me know what you think once you watch it. There are a lot of fun techniques in this one. Yes, I do sign and date all my projects. I wasn't doing that and my son said that I needed to. So I'm doing it now. I don't actually do a signature, it's more of a scribbled "D" lol... Thanks for always watching and sending me messages 🤗🥰
Could you dream up something with tiny clay molded angels? I have a ton of molds and am drawing a blank if you can believe it. They are all maybe an inch tall. Temu haul here
Hi Melissa, Thank you so much. More mixed media it is! I'll plan some more projects. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
@@masoncreationsetc Would you be able to do something mixed media type with a rooster or chickens with chicken wire also in it? So many people I know love their chickens and I have some beautiful rice paper roosters, but I don’t know what to do with them.
Hello Natalie, I'm very sorry that you weren't able to find a technique that you would like to try. I do not tout my channel as one that does upcycling. I make elegant one of a kind art pieces, and use top notch quality products. My channel is all about teaching techniques. Not all of the techniques that I demonstrate in my videos need to be used on the project. With some imagination and thriftiness this project could be made for very little. For example you could purchase a canvas and glitter from Dollar Tree, rip any cardboard box and instead of rice paper you could paint the picture. However that is not what I chose to demonstrate. There are many channels on UA-cam that are upcycling channels, but I am not one of them. Thanks so much for watching 😊
I would think you could use the technique she is teaching on a repurposed project. That's the point of learning new ways to create; make it your own. But we can still appreciate the sharing of skill and talent
Very close minded comment as you can use any parts of these ideas to upcycle, even if the creator never said she upcycled. 🤷🏼♀️. Last time I checked my wallet, I would not claim to be monetarily rich. I am rich with ideas though!
I once copied a Halloween craft she made for Pennies. If you craft at all, you can achieve the same results cheaply and make it your own by using your imagination and shopping at Dollar Tree or Good Will. Sounds like you don’t do much crafting. I’m thankful for all she does and teaches, for free I might add, and I’m all the better for it. Even if I didn’t craft, I just love watching her work her magic. Challenge yourself and see what you come up with, make yourself proud at what you can do. Have fun. Just don’t be negative to someone who is giving so much of herself to so many voluntary. She has always helped me when I had questions with patience and grace.
