Thanks for showing that side of Pro racing. Good to see that he pushed through hard times without giving up on being a pro athlete. That uncertainty must have been such a tough time for him mentally. Also inspiring to see that tech isn’t everything :)
Well said 👍🏼 I will be watching Kyle and wishing him the very best... To GTN, please conduct more interviews like this, the side of Pros that's usually kept hidden..
Of course I do, the man is a machine. So much so, that we normally do these videos with only the bike. I felt it was important to bring Kyle in for this one for that very reason
GTN is turning into Men’s Triathlon Network. It is getting so boring and uninspiring for us women. Yes I appreciate a nice bike and I appreciate the athlete’s efforts. But it has become so one sided with almost entirely men - apart from an irrelevant swim competition between two women, who were not interviewed and the entire segment narrated by a man - and a couple of race reports. Come on GTN!!!
And presenter constantly saying stuff like "less than ideal kit" - the aerobar extensions alone cost like 1800 pounds. nice wheels, nice frame, good bb, nice pedals, nice crankset, its pretty sweet bike
He really wasn’t. He was incredibly humble. If it comes across that way, it’s down to the edit and way in which I questioned him. He’s a super nice and genuine guy
Who else is seriously impressed by this? 🔥
Man it would be an amazing thing of GTN could sponsor him with some cool stuff for Kona
Full respect. Plus the part about his gf being a pro and letting him borrow......and her being a pro explains why she said buy the frame. Ha!!
I hate it when I'm out doing something fun, just having good time and accidentally qualify for Kona. Definitely identify with this guy.
Canyon or a new upcoming bike brand should start sponsoring this man, like fully all the way!
What a legend!

What a nice humble guy. Good luck in the future.
The difference between Kyle Smith’s humility and many of the other athletes we see in triathlon is hugely refreshing.
This is brilliant, shows that a good athlete trumps expensive kit any day. Good luck, hope you continue to go far.
Hope he gets some rewarding sporsonship from this video.
Completely inspiring
A lot of respect for this legend!
Refreshing to see content like this...
Good luck to Kyle but I think luck is always on his side except for the crashes. A humble man he is and I wish him the best in his career.
Just love mend and make do.... Especially when it goes like a rocket 🚀
looks so much better than the new one
The new one is also really nice, looks simple modern. Plasma 5 is also so nice
This is a kind reminder that in the end of the day, the only thing that matters is watts and fitness
Can I get a like to I’m his brother but I have no whats
Seems like a real nice guy
Great interview!
Aotearoa's finest! How does this kid not have a sponsor yet? While we're at it, he also needs a sponsor for some new sandals/jandals there too! 🤞🤣
Neat video. You should do a video on his position since that’s more important than the bike itself.
Matching sandals?
👀
is this the guy who had to race with only one aerobar because the other one broke on the course ?
Yep
I didn’t realise Cervelo P3 he replaced was so slow
If Scott are watching surely they can afford to give Kyle a Plasma 6 and he can train on the one he got from FB marketplace.
ADAM HANSEN'S BIKE, LET'S TAKE A SWATCH AT THAT!!!
If we get a chance we'll try and bring that to you ✌️
What is the water bottle that he has
Looks like one arm rest is already bent or on a different angle to the other? Is this why it broke off in the race I wonder
Maybe even different arm length? 🤷♂️
Chuck him a sponsor GTN!!
This aged well
By the way… those same shoes… something going on there? 🧐
Was this interview sponsored by Birkenstock?
when the presenter has the better bike than the pro 🤔🥳
IT's the man not the bike and the Host just doesn't seem to get that. Interesting bougie conversation from the host perspective.

You're new to the channel, aren't you?

Bought a bike on fb marketplace then everything is sponsored.... Video done in 5 secs
Don’t be a prick. It’s his story that matters.

he seems super arrogant...

@@markthrelfall3577 Alright Ill take your word for it. Have a great day, all the way from Texas.
Where are you getting super arrogant from? I don ‘t get that impression, at all.
You must think all pro triathletes that have some form of confidence are arrogant then..
@@nickcoulter973 the way he answered questions, how he was sitting. It’s just my opinion. I might be wrong.
