Five Star Car Stereo Dean, did you ever compete in the old IASCA circuit? I did and what you show me is the level of expertise I saw back in my day of competing. If I weren’t leasing, I think I’d be crazy enough to buy a pre owned car down there and have you do a small decent system and bring the car back to NYC!

This what ive been waiting on... I have a lexus GS 400 and wanted the wire config. Every shop i went to had no clue.. they would say just remove the amp and run all new speaker wires to all the inside speakers. Glad you guys take the time to actually do real stereo system installs. keep up all the great work.

Wow! So much work involved in a stereo upgrade. I have saved this video link for when I get mine done. Can't read the LCD readout anymore on the radio/cassette and want to upgrade to a digital media system. Great job and video, guys! I'm in the process of getting a double din installed on my '00 Gs300. One shop I took it too couldn't get it to work, so I found another shop that can hopefully get it installed

Very detailed info... As of 12/23/2019 I've installed Axxes Tyto-01harness in my 2002 gs300 and it utilizes my complete speaker system. I installed it along with a 10.1 Android car stereo, what an awesome setup it is now. Luv it.

Hey guys, love your work! This video helped me immensely doing my GS.
I have a question, I'm quite sure I bridged my 445u output correctly for the sub, I've got a RCA split from the mono sub output from my Sony ax1000, into the rear RCA inputs of the 445u but I'm hearing nothing from the sub.
I checked the sub and it's reading a solid 2ohms so it's not blown. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

In the gs you could actually extend that harness back to behind the radio you just gotta cut back the black tape
*That extra amp was definitely not needed, but hey, you nicely made them feel as though it was. Even 4 years ago NO aftermarket radio didn't come with a built in amp*

Great video but you left out... the backup camera install. I'm stumped at the reverse, brake switch wires on this car? And is powering the nvx back up cam sufficient from the reverse bulb wires?
I definitely learned something about these cars. I have a 05 with the navigation and want to put an aftermarket radio in it with its own amplifier and subwoofer. Any suggestions?
Question: 2008 Gs350 with full navigation,backup camera and sensors, and the full audio setup worn to Toyota pioneer factory amps. Will removing those amps and using a traditional 4 channel interfere with factory navigation, sensors and security system?
Great vid as always! I get the factory sub needed a separate amp, but why use the KTP-445U to power the sub and front speakers only and leave the deck to power the rear speakers? Why not use a monoblock amp for the sub only (or 5-channel amp for all speakers)?
I was wondering this as well.
FYI, this is a 97-00. 01-05 has a different harness.

I have a 98 gs400 ive already done the radio install have you ever done speaker install on one of these cars? on my car there is a connector of some sort blocking the passthrough boot hole what should i do ?

DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR FACTORY RADIO! I could not get sound from my factory amp using the ALpine ilx650 head unit because I had to have the volume set to half way and bass and treble at zero on factory before quickly switching the harness plug from it into the new unit. There is like a 3 second window for this to work. CRAZY!!!! Whenever battery is disconnected the BIOS gets reset. From what i hear this only happens with Alpine. Great Video!!!

I really wish you could retain the OEM amp, multidisk, and the factory sub instead of having to work around it. I like it oem, I like my multidisk, I just want a screen for bluetooth. Ig I gotta do rnd and tear apart junkyard stereos to make something work.

Thanks.. But I've found my answer. I purchased the Metro Tyto-01, 01-2015 models. So for my 02 gs300. It allows one to use the factory amp with an aftermarket radio. Works Awesome.

The factory radio has two antenna and powered, your new radio might not have good reception?
This is the most complicated way to do this... but good video, install a setup.

Need some help guys. I have a 2006 gs300 with a mark amp, the radio is not working so i decided to replace. I was unable to find the factory power or constant, no 12-14 volts anywhere. So, I uesd the power from cigarette lighter. The aftermarket Radio is working, I ended up running the speaker wires straight from the radio. Now my a/c control unit isn't working, Do you need to plug the factory radio wires back in? Ive tried googling gs300 radio wire diagram, no. any help be greatly appreciated

It as about 2 hours at the end of the day. It gets dark quick

I’m confused a bit. Doesn’t Metra make a direct plug and play harness to retain factory sub? I have a 99 Avalon with premium sound. I did an aftermarket radio and just metra harness. I’m in no way anywhere near professional, but my factory sub still works. (Or so I think) lol. In other words why did Dean have to create his own harness and replace the Amp?
Yes they do, just not for that year. That is why we had to make the harness.
I had to do the exact same. Custom harness and bypass the factory Pioneer amp.
I was looking at the video and my 1998 gs300 luxes radio has four plugs in the back of it and my amp is located in the trunk of the car I have a CD changer behind the glove compartment I want to know if y'all have a video that will help me out with my car thank you and keep up the good work

@@rcsaechao Most likely, all standard Pioneer sounds system have amp at the bottom passenger kick panel.

because you need some of the wires from that harness, some of them go from the stock amp to the stock head unit from what ive seen... peace
The only device that can signal the OEM amplifier to turn on, is an OEM head unit. Many have tried and failed. Technically you could probably just replace the OEM amplifier, but you'd need a new head unit too.
@@anotherpewtertahoe Exactly forget the factory amp, when I first started my audio upgrade with new radio, I bypassed the factory amp and got a separate amp for the aftermarket sub. Then I upgraded with another new radio, new 6.5 speakers, 4 channel amp for the doors and new wires. Sounds so much better.

So I have the same car, and installing the same headunit. But I’m using amps in the truck and not using the rear deck sub. Wanna pin me up those harnesses and mail them to me for a fee?
Very nice work.. but not worth the trouble and money on car that prob your work cost more than the car..
i don't know why need all this extra stuff. why can't just plug new radio in with the normal wire harness. is all the extra stuff you put in every care really needed? there is a harness that they make to keep sub too. there is no need for all the extra stuff.
