Nice Fit I was thinking Of doing this to someone's GS but nobody wanted me to do it. I took one look at the 9in Tablet and I know it would fit flush I was able to squeeze in a Ipad 2 then I relocated the AC controls to the ash tray location and added a 10.1 Samsung tablet. with this radio I would just go to the junk yard or ebay and order a replacement ash trey and grind it down to fit better. Ill give you a Sub keep it up I miss MY GS some times but I love my LS more lol
The ash tray trim had to be shaved very minimal, my wide body has a 11in model and had to move the climate to the ashtray area wich is where I had my air suspension switches
Looks good just really not practical for me, just my opinion, I wouldn't like to reach over to adjust, I would have relocated to where the map light are
Thanks for that video, it’s inspiring, the screws on stereo the two top one with gold colour is anti rust or moisture resist screws because they near the vents and other two is normal interior screws. Hope that’s the answer.
@@pandagaming8819 its just a 10mm socket with a extension long enough to reach the bolts, the radio screws a Philips screw driver will work or a 8mm socket
I Wonder if this would work on my 1999 LS400. I'm Really Big on my Music so I would add a DSP(Digital Sound Processor) to it and it would still be a whole lot cheaper than the Sony 6.95 XAV AX5500 that I am debating on getting. I just want a clean look and fill that whole double din space. I already have JL Audio C1 Components in the front and 2-ways in the back with a Blaupunkt 4 channel amp and a Skar 2800:1 amp to a Alpine Type R 12" sub. It's all running to my stock head unit. SMH... However Definitely Needing an Upgrade!

Yes, you would need to buy the climate control from the non gps gs300 gs400, on the navigation models the climate control is built into the GPS/radio unit, you can find the climate on ebay or junk yards for cheap
Not really much more, I belive the amp is in the trunk vs behind the glove box but I belive there is a junction behind the box since Toyota used the same harness, you will also need to buy a climate control from ebay from a non gps version gs300/gs400 the rear plugs are the same, appreciate you watching
I have the same system...ML with GPS and the amp is in the trunk...do you happen to know which harness have the speaker wires? Such a PITA when installing it.
So I purchased this Android unit on eBay. I got the combo that comes with the bezel with the AC integrated. Anyway... I'm curious as to how to make the harness work. The provided harness doesn't fit with the car harness. Please advise
Its usually found by searching Android car stereo on Amazon but there is variations, there is a Amazon link in the description to the one I used on this install.
The 9 inch is the perfect fit there was no cutting at all i only had to sand/shave very little on the ashtray trim where the ashtray and radio meet took me 2 min
Thanks for the knowledge bro, I'm really tired of looking at 6.95. Now you said too need and external amp for the door speakers, reason being there's no amp on the 9 inch?!
I was actually considering doing a standard double din in my 95 LS, but this makes me want to reconsider and possibly go with a big boy.
Thanks man!
Your welcome, it makes the dash look more modern and clean vs the ordinary 7" double dins
@@Ricardo_Wade funny enough, it also looks like your climate control is the exact one used in my car. So this might be a near direct fit.
@Birch_ON yea I belive 95-97 LS share the same as the 98-05 GS300 NON NAVi models, wiring might be diffrent but should measure out the same
Very well done. Definitely need to do this to update the look. Thanks you 🙏
