Thanks man! I appreciate your videos. Really helpful. I have a 2019 maverick with kohler engine as well and use it over about 6-8 acres. One thing I did find helpful with blade removal is battery powered impact wrench has made that super easy to change.

I have the Maverick HD with the HONDA EFI engine. I haven’t even used it yet. Had it for 4 days. I detailed it with a ceramic Cerakote spray and after researching different ways to protect the underside of deck I decided to proceed with ceramic protection on the under decking I enjoy your videos and comments. You take really good care of your equipment. Good tips. I put gator blades and the advanced chute on mine to mulch grass. I can’t wait to use it. It’s built really well. Looked at Scag and Hustler also but the Maverick is os accessible and easy to do maintenence on. Nice job on the videos again!

Thx for the good video. I've watched a bunch of these, trying to decide what brand to buy. Just picked up a Bad Boy MZ Magnum 54". After one mow on 2.5+ acres, I'm impressed. What a dream. Amazing improvement over my old J-D LT180 48"er. Just added a Trac-Seat to help smooth out the ride abit. Can't believe I'm wishing for the grass to grow quicker so I can try out the Trac-Seat.

@@south_coast I'm very happy with it. It really does suck up the bumps. If you don't have a seat with adjustable slide rails, make sure you use 3/4" spacers between the Trac-Seat and the mower. I just cut some 3/4" PVC pipe for the spacers.

I don’t have as nice as a machine as yours, but I have two old riders to mow my 5 acres. One is a 7 yr old snapper with about 205 hrs on its Briggs and a 25 yr old Murray 48 inch cut ( When Murray was actually Murray and was ranked number one in reliability in 1999 when I bought it. While it unfortunately does not have an hour meter, it’s on its second seat and tires, and the Snapper was added 7 yrs ago due to the fact the Murray was getting very very old and I wanted to lighten the work load for longevity. I do all my own maintenance and I recommend strongly to have a fuel cutoff on what ever you have and keep the fuel shut off between mowings . Hopefully one day I can afford a Bad Boy with that air ride seat and save my back. Great Vlog, thanks.

Hi thanks for a great video. On the subject of slipping tyres on the damp or wet grass. I have a 6000 series Diesel Toro and it has always done the same thing(my guess, all Zero turns slips!). Thanks for the terrific video. Peter (Australia)

Thanks for the update. I haven’t reached 100 hours yet. I just bought my 22” early last spring. I have the reaper tires on mine (stock) they look so aggressive, but the do slip a bit. You wouldn’t think they would, looking at the tread. Good luck with your home build by the way!

I sold my 21 mav 60” with a kaw an got the 22 rogue 72” with the big kawa 1000…the mav is a great mower but the rogue literally cut my mowing time in half I mow 6 acres an it takes me right about an hour with the rogue with the mav took me about 2 an a half hours…the suspension and speed on the rogue is amazing man if ya ever decide to upgrade id suggest trying the rogue out! Got a killer deal on it in February key is to buy before mowing season at a small dealer

Yes. I keep all tires at 12 psi. My deck has a tendency to get unlevel too and I have to adjust at times. I use the method described in the manual with 2 x 4 but like watching videos of how other people do it. For some reason I can’t find a single bad boy mower deck leveling video.

Nice video, I'm around 70ish hrs. On my 21 maverick Kawasaki 60".... getting ready to do my hydro gear fluid. Unlike yours, I do not have the reservoirs. I was able to buy a kit that hooks directly to the fill cap. It's from the ZT hydro gear company, so it's not some gimmick bs.
My biggest complaint is my armrest are now held up by rope. I'm too fat to use them, and they began falling down after 10-15 seconds after I put them back up... I do not see access to tighten them...
Complaint #2 are the tires, they were decent off the get, now warn I'm constantly getting stuck. And there aren't any other tread choices in this oddball size 23x11x12...... now my polaris 500 rear tires are 25x11x12, same thing just a tick bigger. I have a set of SUNF that I got for a decent price off Amazon, I plan on buying a pair for the mower, I just hope they clear the deck

Anybody know if the 2024s are still carbureted? I'd really like to get one of these puppies, but I only want it if it's carbureted, 'cause I do my own maintenance and repairs, and I am NOT investing in a specialty diagnostic scanner for one mower when the EFI or other electronic engine controls go south.

    • @south_coast

100hr? I had that almost within a month of ownership 🤣
I've been running bad boys since they came out. The one I use right now just turned six years old the middle of May.
When I stepped off the machine yesterday it had 2864 hours on it almost 3000 hours, front yard and backyard that averages about 6.7 acres not to mention the additional 5 1/2 to 6 acres up at Meyer and Hanger
So every time I mow is about 13 acres
I can mow it all in roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then I loaded up and go mow my daddy's place which is about 2 1/2 acres and then I drive down the road and do the camp house which is another 2 acres. And living here in East Texas mowing season starts generally around the end of February or first of March and goes all the way just about until Christmas
The bad outlaw XP that I have has a 38 fuel injected rig with a 72 inch cut and not a single dime has been spent in repairs on this machine just blades and belts and believe it or not I have not changed a single spindle on the deck.
No I'm not saying it isn't wore out or like brand new but it's still running like a champ
I went to purchase one brand new last week but could not find one in the entire state of Texas that was a 72 inch cut with a fuel injected Briggs they all had the junky kohlers.

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast  4 місяці тому

That’s incredible. Glad to know they will last at least that many hours. You’re definitely cutting way more than me. So you are saying you can cut 13 acres in 1h-45min?
