  • Lamborghini Centenario - Full CG Behind the Scenes achieved with Unreal Engine 5 (Preview 2).
    Playing around with the features of Unreal Engine 5 Preview 2 for automotive, using Nanite and Lumen, and so far having a blast !
    Rather than posting the final render, I thought this quick clip might be more interesting to see the power of real-time rendering, and see how fun it can be to choose the best lighting and camera angle in seconds.
    The mountain was created using World Creator 3, leveraging the World Partition technology system of UE5. The scans are from Quixel. Inspired by the beautiful art direction from Forza Horizon.
    Car model by Rex Fu
    (Music by Odesza)
    Running at 25fps (in-editor) at 4K on the NVIDIA RTX A5000.

    Fh4 music, it's very clean

    looks amazing! Im surprised that its running at 25 fps only, I wonder what takes so much frametime on a gpu such as yours. With Nanite and Lumen I would expect much better framerates.

      Thanks ! I forgot to mention the car is using the full raytraced reflections that eat quite a lot of performance. Also this is captured in-editor, keep in mind that performance is always a better when it's packaged :)

      @@davidbaylisdesign I see. Makes sense, the reflections are so crisp looking. I wonder how lumens reflections stack up against it, gonna have to try it out myself. The only thing that throws it off a bit are the default clouds, if you would throw in an ultra dynamic sky plugin there or some of velarions skyboxes it would take your scene truly to next level, along with the rest of your high quality portfolio.

      @@DatGuyGLK Lumen's reflections were pretty bad in comparison to real ray-traced (at least in last UE5 version)... That is why I am unfortunately still sticking to UE4.27 for automotive viz.. :/

    • @DatGuyGLK
      @DatGuyGLK 2 роки тому +1

      @@aleksandarmiletic150 yep, I had same issue in archviz, lumen mirror reflections were unusable, and switching to standalone raytracing doesnt work with skylight, so im sticking with 4.27 aswell

      Also want to take part in the conversation about performance and reflection issues to ask for advice.
      Im looking for learning Unreal for archviz actually im interested in the DVIZ course i guess some of you have heard of them?
      So the newest course is in Unreal 5 so brings some questions your comments about reflection issues because of lumen?
      And any advice about pc config? Does a 3080 or 3080ti would still be good? Vram wise and how much PC ram and cpu also is needed.
      Im planing doing mixed use 20-40 levels Buildings for developers.
      Any advice would be so well recibed 😁

    Did you import the model directly in unreal or did you use a tool like blender to assign textures, etc. before import? I’d love to hear more about your process.

    Hi David. Would love to see some of your Material graphs! Are you using the ThinTranslucency shader model for glass? What about Strata shaders, are these being implemented?

    • @davidbaylisdesign
      @davidbaylisdesign  2 роки тому +3

      Hey Jim, just using the Automotive Material Pack for the car, no major tweaks besides adding extra roughness maps for the tires.
      The Automotive shaders will see some updates in upcoming releases.
