Excellent video, I was really worried about the size of the MG4 boot, I watched so many videos but only tells you the size in litres. This video just showed me in practical and it’s my answer to what I was looking for. Time to order the car 🙏
I can confirm that you can get 2.4m lengths of timber in the MG4, with rear seat down and front passenger seat back as flat as possible. Can actually fit 2.6m lengths straight or 2.8m if the timber is thin enough to bend a little.
I moved from a first generation Nissan Leaf that had one, to the second generation that didn't and it was something I really missed! Hopefully picking up my MG4 in a the next couple of weeks so can't wait to have a sunglasses holder again!
I am still waiting for my MG 4, I was informed back in October that it would take 8/12 weeks for it to arrive in the UK/Scotland! I have an MG, which I purchased last year - I love it, But I need more mile range and this is why I am going for the MG4.
hi, for teh frunk you can take away the plastic and there is many many space. because the car have the space for an other motor in the front. for the back, you can take away the rear part where there is the pump. so you will have an other space to fit many object. the cable fit under the passenger seat. great video! have a nice ride with your mg4!
Thanks for tuning in and your comments Riccardo. That’s really interesting. Have you removed the plastic in yours? It looked to me like it was part of structural support for some of the parts underneath so I haven’t considered it. Great tips about the charge cables under the seat or in place of the tyre repair kit. Might have a go at that😊
@@stuart_thomas hi, it's not part of the structure but it's only a space to fit the kit. there are two screw to remove.for the frunk i haven't take away the plastic cover for now but i will do.

Hi Stuart, I feel I could contribute a little bit now. I collected my MG4Se one week ago and Wednesday drove from Colchester to Yorkshire Wildlife park, Doncaster. Started on 95% , fast charged at Peterborough then 7.5kw T the Park Hotel. I am over all very happy with the Mg4, but with one reserve. I don't really enjoy the Lane Assisting mode. Would like to see you do a video on this feature. Have already ordered a MG/ Trophy 🏆 hopefully 6 months, no hurry while I'm enjoying the current Se model. Always interesting to hear your thoughts and comments. Nick
Hi Nick thanks for tuning in and congrats on your MG4 SE and upcoming Trophy. I really wouldn’t entertain lane assist at this time, it’s incredibly unrefined and clearly in its infancy, although I hear an update is ready but for certain models at this point. However, not all is lost here, if you activate Traffic Jam assist (TJA) in MG pilot under Cruise Control this option will offer you some kind of lane centring. It’s less prone to jump about but it isn’t perfect. I only use it on motorways however, it will (even if you have both hands on the wheel) will repeatedly warn you to keep your hands on the wheel so I tend you use Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) instead but this isn’t ‘lane centring’. I have a video going live tomorrow which address the perks of TJA😊👍
@Stuart Thomas cheers Stuart, will give traffic Jam a go , personally I'm less relaxed with cruise control and happy to drive old style for 2/3 hours, let's face it the Mg4 ev is child's play to drive plus fun so responsive and smooth I enjoy the time behind the wheel. I don't have measurements sorry. But these are large cases and I can fit 2 plus a cabin bag in there. Done 3 trips to Heathrow with them and all squeeze in (just)
Thanks for tuning in and the question. Congrats on your order, love the black colour and was my top 2 but walked away with white 🤷♂️. We’ve had an EV for a few years so we installed a wall box (podpoint) at the point of ordering the car. We are with octopus on their go tariff. Our night rate is currently 5p a kWh/day 12.5p so to juice up this car is £2.50 (night). Daily cost probably 50p. 90% charging done from home so no comparison with electric vs petrol/diesel for us. Public charging is a different game and depending on your use case of the car it could be expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. Thanks for tuning in🤟
Good work as there are not that many reviews of the SE out there. Are you able to do a video on the sound system in the car, especially what it sounds like when sitting in the back of the car?
Thanks for following and tuning in Simon. I have a bit of a deep dive of the infotainment and driving aids soon, sound system will be covered in that 🤟
That’s certainly one thing I would have liked to have added to the test. I’m sure it would fit a modern day collapsable pram/pushchair. We used to fit a twin pushchair/pram in a focus 8 years ago. This boot isn’t on the same scale but it would have fitted it all be it tight. Thanks for tuning in and the grey question
I think the car looks good! Huge criteria for me is does it fit 2 medium size dogs in the boot. The Kia has a bigger boot on paper, but I think it's just a bit wider and the MG is a bit taller. How do they even measure those? :D
They don’t drop flat with the boot floor unfortunately. MG have tried to get the best of both worlds with a higher bench seat for passenger comfort (and battery shortage). I have a new video this week and I’ll demonstrate this including measurements

I'm actually surprised how small the boot is. I used to have a Clio and the MG is a bigger car than the Clio yet the boot is smaller. Cabin storage in the MG is very good. It's insane that EVs including the MG don't put a front boot in. I bet there is sufficient space to accommodate 20-30L if there was bit of thought put into arranging the electricals.
It’s certainly not as big as some rivals in its class. However ‘litres’ is misleading as boots are all different shapes. I’m currently reviewing a use eNiro and I can fit the same luggage in the MG4 as the eNiro. I think what needs to be noted is the cabin space is much bigger instead which has its value.
