  • This is ripped from the audio of a DVDRIP of the movie and is likely higher quality than other videos of this song that I have seen out there (This version includes SFX - like the girl laughing!).
It really is a shame that a version of this song does not exist out there in CD medium, for example. I do not personally own the rights to the audio or the image but if you'd like a copy of the mp3, message me. Thanks for watching!

I'm traveling blind trapped in darkness
Kept trying to find easy rules to win the game
    Going round and round
    An old disguise
    So full of doubt
But I'm turning around 'cause now it's my time
I'm standing on the edge of tomorrow
    Leaving far behind my yesterdays
    Each shadow's disappearing
As morning light is near me
And tomorrow will be more than just another day
    I found my way
Been playing it safe for a long time
So afraid to find the courage to be me
    But with each new day
I finally learned to face the pain
Now it's time for a change
    I swear it's my turn
I'm standing on the edge of tomorrow
    Leaving far behind my yesterdays
    Each shadow's disappearing
As morning light is near me
And tomorrow will be more than just another day
    I found my way
    And now
    With a love I can't explain
    Somehow
He gave me faith to find the way
Standing on the edge of tomorrow
    Leaving far behind my yesterdays
    Each shadow's disappearing
As morning light is near me
And tomorrow will be more than just another day
    I found my way

It is a crime against humanity that this song was never released properly.

You can probably blame Universal (or whatever music studio they used) for that one. Had they actually *GIVEN* Ms. Dworsky a copy of her song when it was recorded back then, it more than likely would have been made available for today's media formats, as it rightfully should have been. Hell, it clearly didn't even occur to anyone working on this film that people might want to have and/or own an official soundtrack CD or cassette. :/

Great Song! It's happy and yet sad and sentimental to me at the same time. The sound of healing and a new beginning but yet at the same time it feels like a kind of farewell song to the 1980s decade. I miss the feeling and spirit of those times a lot. On another note the guitarist in this song sounds like the guitarist in Journey?

this song makes me sad, because I was born in 85, and got to grow up through the awesome late 80s and into the mid 90s, and now I've entered my 30s and I'm a cubicle junkie. 😥

It's alright; such is life. Do you get to at least wear a suit to work? ;) I was born in '82, have a desk job too and it's not a very glamorous one but it's stability and it provides. Plus there's no dress code. Keep rockin' and livin' the dream!

I was barely out of Jr Hi when this song came out, and it was when Nintendo games were still a hot commodity. This makes me remember the end of the Awesome 80s and always brings back the most bittersweet memories.

I loved this movie back in the day. I was 11 when it came out, so I liked it for the video games mainly. Watching it 32 years later at the age of 42, I realized how much more awesome of a movie it is, beyond the video games. Great family movie and makes me cry at the end when Jimmy honors his late sister. Love this song.

to go back to like 1987 would be great . but its nice to remember that time as a 10 year old when life was just about school in the fall winter and spring and them summer days saturday morning cartoons swiming in the local lake playing tag in the woods hanging out with friends but now as a 43 year old u have to face forword and just keep living life now i have 2 children of my own and wouldnt trade for anything .but this song is like a reminder of then and now .

The 80s had all the good stuff. And kids do say and do the darndest things.I think the end scene reminded me of the end of the 80s.THE DECADE THAT HAD ALL THE GOOD STUFF.This movie represented the end of my childhood in the 80s.I graduated ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in 1989 THE YEAR THE BERLIN WALL CAME DOWN.Having that poor boy committed was WAY WRONG.But I'm glad he won the tournament and got the clousure he neeeded. In the end he became a NES CHAMPION and got an adopted Sister. His Brother got a girlfriend. It is so true childhood goes fast like sand through a sive. This movie reminds us
    to crave adventure.

just eager to straighten the facts out only when it has to do with 80's hahah. other than that, i don't care about particulars. but my comment says exactly how i feel; i can certainly tell the difference between '89 and '90 or '79 and '80s media even with stuff i've never seen or heard before - i'm just that good :). but thanks for watching and commenting!

this movie came out in '89, dude (and I think it clearly feels more 80s than 90s). all the same, what DID happen to the 80's - and 90's too. seriously, most of today's media is heartless drivel IMHO
