The genius of your ‘lessons/walk throughs” over all other UA-cam vids is how 1) you give such great back stories 2) you highlight the little nuances of the strumming/intricacies of how they play. 👍🏻
Mike, Thank You, Thank You Thank You, For All Of Your Lessons. You Make Guitar Playing So Easy. The Great Ones Make It Easy. And You're So Knowledgeable Of The Lads, Their Playing Stylings And Techniques. I'm Without A Doubt, That You Are The 5th Beatle. Thank You Again For Your "User Friendly" Lessons And Insights On The Beatles, Their Music And Song-Writing Magic. 🎶🎸👍😎
i so appreciate the back stories, and yes those nuances and extra details make for an exceptional beatles song play. once you have it down, it makes for a good music session w other beatles fans/musicians. Thank you for all your work. you're a musical genius yourself!
Hi mike..just came across your you tube channel. Love it..the way you explain things..just watched you on tge bestles "" girl video""".. loved it. This was recorded. 3 months after. Their 65..shea stadium concert. N their. August 27th.. 1965 famous meeting with the king..Elvis presley in california..
There was me thinking this must be the most simple and straightforward Beatles song ever, then along comes Pachelli to highlight the myriad of subtleties that makes this song so great! Another brilliant expose’ Mike and such good fun to play. Thank you. Btw, I’m off to Perth WA next week and will be jamming with my Beatles loving Son in Law for the first time in 3+ years and he’ll want to know where I learned all this shit! Another new fan heading your way Mike!
Brilliantly done! George’s parts are Melodie’s on to themselves. The sound they got on guitar here particularly George’s was so “continental” I have seen claims it was a Bazouki! Obviously a 12 string acoustic.
Mike your videos are so enthralling, and make me appreciate The Beatles' songs even more (as if that was even possible!). Each video is a absolute treat. Thank you so much. I've no idea how you can hear each part so accurately, but somehow you do, every time.
Very, very impressed with the instrumentals and your voice on this track. You do an extremely credible job on John's lead vocal, and the others as well. One of your best!
Yes. Totally enjoy the background info and to learn We're not alone in loving the Beatles catalog. "Plastic soul" is so one of my favorites... and your singing is lovely..
Brilliant job, capturing all the little subtleties that separate a Beatles' song from everyone else. You describe John's playing as "nice and loose, just fun playing". My favorite description of his guitar playing on songs such as this one as "Practiced nonchalance". Anyway, you nailed it. Brings back memories of 1965.
It's so puzzling how the Beatles chose the songs to perform live. They tackled almost impossible things like Nowhere Man but didn't do simpler but excellent songs like this.
Here was me thinking I knew how to play all these songs and then you come along and show me how it should be played, cheers Mike keep up the great work!
Very nicely done. Thanks for the history lesson too, in addition the guitar lesson. Love this song, the album, and basically anything and everything Beatles!
Hello Mike - I'm a huge Beatles fan and I love your videos. I love how you tell the story about the song and little facts that no one's heard before. And your talent is amazing. Thank you for all your hard work on making these videos and how to play the songs. You are my go to for all Beatles songs and tutorials on how to play them. Thank you Mike!
Been waiting on this one Mike . I agree with John . This happens to be one of my all time favorite Beatles songs also . Awesome lesson as always . Thank You for all of the hard work Mike .
As usual, a great lesson on a beautiful Beatles song. I’m always amazed at how much detail you show in all these songs. I was always a Beatles fan since they first appeared on the Ed Sullivan. I’m about the same age as you are ,Mike and played the guitar since I was 12 years old but I never got anywhere close to the level and proficiency as you are. I love your UA-cam Videos and they inspire me to try to improve. Happy belated Birthday Mike.
Thanks, Mike, well done as always. I was 4 years old when GIRL came out in Germany on a .45 single backing MICHELLE, and my Ma was dancing to it with me in her arms. So GIRL is very much soundtrack to my life and - happy or not - the lyrics too :-) Wodda a Boobietrap that I started with guitar ... tit tit tit :-)
nice class as always, love watching your Beatles lessons. this band helped me a lot to play the guitar, and you are being my teacher who teaches the music of the Beatles. So I really appreciate it.😊
Absolute magic as always. Thank you! John was able to generate an emotion in this song which is brilliant. It's a combination of the chords and melody but it creates an effect that is bigger than those two elements. This is one of his best works next to Strawberry, Universe, This boy ah the list goes on... On a less then perfect sound system I always thought the inhalation of breath was a wave breaking on the shore and was the sound of water surging up the beach.
I’m and have been since I was young a huge Beatles fan , now 62 years old. I love your videos on all these great Beatles tracks . You do great work my friend. You and I would get along great in the real world as fellow musicians. Keep up the great work.
Great. Great. Great. I would love to hear your take on “I’m Looking Through You”. I can play the chords that Paul is playing, but his voice is too high for me to sing along. It makes me sad because it’s one of my favorite Beatles songs.
Hi Mike. I really like you "doing" these early Beatles tunes in a lesson type format. The one main guy I play with (I am 67 and only 3 years in) is into metal. I play acoustic. Conflict. I will say my situation is better with my metal friend than without. Always better to have someone to "play" with.
Once again Mike you showed the hidden nuances of George's subtle yet perfect Guitar part s that permeate in so many Beatle songs. He is the master of less is more in his playing. I think John was never given credit for how solid his Rhythm Guitar playing was. Geoff Emerick ( Beatles Engineer) said he almost never made a mistake in the studio when they recorded his Rhythm Guitar. I would like to Thank you again for all the time and background info you put into these Outstanding videos
al - Thanks. I too read Emerick's book. I think he's a bit biased on some things but on how solid John's rhythm playing was - Geoff hit the nail on the head!
I can only agree with previous comments. The Beatles are not loved around the world still for nothing - so much wonderful music - pure genius. Thanks Mike great job as usual
Gorgeous harmonies, rhythm guitar and an ever present alignment between subject matter and melody. He obviously did fantastic work in the late 60's as well but this is prime Lennon as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the walkthrough!
Fantastic rendition as usual Mike! One of my favorite songs on the Rubber Soul album! The pure musical & lyrical genius of John & the boys will never be even remotely duplicated IMHO! Hope that you are doing well & thanks for these awesome lessons! 👍👍👏👏
I remember some soap opera dork sang this on some afternoon series when the LP was new-don't blame me I was home too sick to change the channel (no remote back then) I'm AMAZED you can tell when an upbeat is played as opposed to a downward strum! Actually, you sound like George.
I really enjoy your lessons and especially the back stories. I found it interesting that John was so proud of this song but was so ashamed of It’s Only Love, (your previous lesson). While both songs were originally on the US version of Rubber Soul, I must say I like It’s Only Love better. Not that I hate Girl, though. I used to play George’s parts on mandolin back in the day. Sounded really good. Keep ‘‘em coming Mike. You always makes me get my guitar out and have fun. Thanks for your efforts!
Great Cover Mike! the capoing on a Good Acoustic always sounds so Good! Oh! 95 here in N.Y. today..... good day to put in the " Bucket List " CD while driving!!!
Nice job Mike! I love this song! My favorite part of the song- the deep inhalations! Dit dlt dit, er, tit tit tit!! Btw, everybody got one! Thanks for all the Beatles breakdowns!
I used to perform this song solo and played the two George Harrison parts as double stops, picking one part with a pick held between the thumb and first finger and picking the other part with the ring finger. It took a little while to work out and practice the double stops, but audiences were pretty impressed by it. Try it.
Another corker of a video Mike. I absolutely loved it. You have picked apart one of my favourite songs from my favourite album not only of the Beatles but of anybody. I have just finished reading the massive book ‘The Lives of John Lennon’ by Albert Goldman, which really reveals his genius and gullibility, his bravado and sensitivity. Just when I thought I’d read everything there was to read about the Beatles, and about John Lennon this book digs even deeper.I recommend it.
The genius of your ‘lessons/walk throughs” over all other UA-cam vids is how 1) you give such great back stories 2) you highlight the little nuances of the strumming/intricacies of how they play. 👍🏻
Julian - Thanks very much. And yeah - for me, it's those little nuances (that sometimes go un-noticed) that truly exemplify the genius of the lads!

Another "out of the park" break down of a Beatle tune, Thanks Mike, Rubber Soul has always been my favorite Beatle album.
One of the songs that made Rubber Soul. Thanks!
A prime example of a superb Beatle album cut. Another great lesson Mike.
Another great lesson from the best Beatles music teacher on UA-cam. And a lovely song. :)
Sören - Wow, thank you!
There was me thinking this must be the most simple and straightforward Beatles song ever, then along comes Pachelli to highlight the myriad of subtleties that makes this song so great! John was rightfully proud of this composition - great tutorial Mike as always.😎🎸✌️☮️👏
Brilliantly done! George’s parts are Melodie’s on to themselves. The sound they got on guitar here particularly George’s was so “continental” I have seen claims it was a Bazouki! Obviously a 12 string acoustic.
ABSOLUTELY SUPERB, IN YOUR OWN RIGHT, MR. PACHELLI!! I COULD NOT MEAN IT MORE RESPECTFULLY, SIR!!
Thank you kindly
So well done Mike, as usual!! The guitar parts sound a lot more complex than they really are, part of the Beatle brilliance! 👍👍
Mike your videos are so enthralling, and make me appreciate The Beatles' songs even more (as if that was even possible!). Each video is a absolute treat. Thank you so much. I've no idea how you can hear each part so accurately, but somehow you do, every time.
David - thanks for the kudos. Nice of you.
Very, very impressed with the instrumentals and your voice on this track. You do an extremely credible job on John's lead vocal, and the others as well. One of your best!
Mike, I've been playing guitar & piano for literally 50+ years -- and I always love watching/listening to you. SO Clear!!!
SDon - glad to hear you get a bit of enjoyment from my lessons!
Yes. Totally enjoy the background info and to learn We're not alone in loving the Beatles catalog. "Plastic soul" is so one of my favorites... and your singing is lovely..
One of my absolute favorite Beatle's songs. Thanks Mike
Thank you, Mike. I really appreciate your in-depth lessons and great background on the songs themselves.
Brilliant! One of my absolute favourite Beatles songs. Thanks, Mike.

I think nowhere man was a single and Girl was not ( I could be wrong) so perhaps they wanted to promote the single 🤷♂️
In the UK neither were singles if my memory serves@@MrBuc128
How I love these amazing back stories!
Glad you like them!
Another Beatles favorite of mine. I'm so psyched up for learning this! Thank You Mike! 👍
Thank you for an excellent lesson on "Girl" you did a great job on this Beatles classic 🎶 quality Mike! - James
Lqqq - Thanks so much!
You’re being ridiculous Mike……..your singing is plenty good enough and the way you nail the harmonies is ridiculously good 😉
Lovely song. One of the first Beatles songs i did start to play. Just brilliant!!
Here was me thinking I knew how to play all these songs and then you come along and show me how it should be played, cheers Mike keep up the great work!
paige - Glad to be of some help!
George's guitars part has a strong ''greek spirit'' , like a bouzouki. Great guitars duet!
They were very specifically trying for that sound, which they attained by using the capo so high up.
Very nicely done. Thanks for the history lesson too, in addition the guitar lesson. Love this song, the album, and basically anything and everything Beatles!

“She’s the kind of Girl who puts you down when friends are there you feel a Fool”…..Truly a Beatles “Under Rated” Masterpiece….

Mike. Your Beatles breakdowns are the best. Thanks.
Fantastic lesson....honestly, I'm blown away....thanks Mike...
Excellent lesson excellent version of the song
Great Mike! Thank you for another amazing story telling of a Beatles song!

Finally I know how to play this beatifull song right! Thanks Mike
Awesome video again Mike. Thank you
Beautiful reverb Mike. (And masterful tutorial as usual)

The production quality of your videos is first class. The back stories, lessons and sound alike inspire me to keep playing.
@user-jc - There's NO better compliment than to read that my meanderings "inspire" another guitarist to "keep playing" - thanks!!
The most comprehensive tutorial by far on YT.Thanks
@Mike amazing job ! We are running out of ways not only to recognizing George’s contributions but also yours to us as Beatles obsessed fans
Amazing song, mesmerizing. Great lesson too Mike!!
I’m and have been since I was young a huge Beatles fan , now 62 years old. I love your videos on all these great Beatles tracks . You do great work my friend.

Amazing! You really bring us into the studio 1965
One of my all-time favorites!
So glad you did this one. It’s a unique tune.
Thank you Mike for this great lesson ,you are a great guy love from the uk
Great. Great. Great. I would love to hear your take on “I’m Looking Through You”. I can play the chords that Paul is playing, but his voice is too high for me to sing along. It makes me sad because it’s one of my favorite Beatles songs.
Mike you are the Beatles Guru! I've enjoyed every video you have put out on the Beatles music! Keep it coming!
Douglas - thanks. I'll try my best as time allows.
Yet another great story and lesson, Mike. You have outdone yourself, literally !
Wow, thanks!

Wonderful stuff Mike. Thank you.
Great lesson as we have come to expect. Additionally that Charis guitar sounds amazing.
My phone listening in the background said "Girl" by The Beatles while listening to this video. Great job Mike!
I love these videos, Mike.
Mike is so interesting to listen to and girl is a terrific song off of a killer album.

As usual Mike …… absolutely fantastic I had an old song book used to destroy the song …. But now I still destroy the song but more elegantly.
Great work Mike, once again! Cheers from Paris!
Rubber Soul and Revolver: john lennon’s prime melodic creativity period.,
Nossa que trabalho lindo. Parabéns pela aula. Todo na versão original
amazingly helpful lesson
Mike, you are really good!!
Mike, jesteś wielki. Uwielbiam twoje lekcje. Pozdrawiam fan The Beatles a Polski.
I also think that Ringo hitting the crash when George goes Venetian on the twelve-string was a clever contribution on Ringo's part!
Yep!
Great Job! Thanks for that
