Ah yes, the release date, such warm memory of childhood, sitting upon the living room floor excited about Christmas and Rubber Soul playing on our 'Hi-Fi, all was right with the world. This is one of the songs, not played 'as much' thus bringing back even more of that wonderful memory.
Your back story for each of the Beatles' songs you recreate is as fascinating as learning the songs from your videos is satisfying! What a contribution to music overall, Mike! Love this stuff!!
Well Mike, another 56 year old mystery solved. I've gone on to other things in my musical career, but learning these are the core of it all. And their cleverness never ceases to amaze me. Thanks again.
I have always LOVED this song--thank you! I love the way you show how Lennon and Harrison complimented each other. John is so underrated, and your videos show his guitar genius. Thanks, as always.
I was listening to Rubber Soul today thinking “Wait is such a rockin’ and underrated song!” and “I wonder if Mike did a tutorial on it”…and sure enough, here it is!
For years now, if anyone asks me my least favorite Beatles song, my answer, with no hesitation, is Wait. It's always sounded super-gimmicky to me, its placement after In My Life (a contender for best song ever) grinds my gears, it sounds like a reject from a lesser album, and I don't like the lyrics (especially the bridge). Side one of Rubber Soul (UK) has always been my favorite Beatle side- I love the order of the songs! So yeah, Wait's position has always bugged me. HOWEVER! I am a fan of your station and paused my day to watch one of my favorite youtubers dissect one of my least favorite Beatle tunes. Sometimes I'll find myself debating with someone who thinks that analyzing music kills its spirit- this video proves the opposite can be true for me. You are a terrific breaker-downer of the taste, style, method, individuality and accessibility of these two guitarists we love so much that it can be easy to take them for granted or not notice that really cool little choice one of them made. Maybe my favorite thing about this band is their ability to stand up to scrutiny- the closer I listen, the more I am rewarded (and I've been listening pretty close for YEARS). Wait has been the Beatle song I "love to hate". Today, I'm confident that later on, when I listen to it, in full side 2 context, I will, for the first time maybe ever, appreciate and even enjoy listening to it in a whole new way. Nice work Mike! Thank you
Have to agree with you on a couple of your points. On the album that I bought continues ago, side two ended Wait and Run for Your Life. These two songs will eternally go together in mind.
Hey Mike your sound alike on this one was one of your best. I am a huge Rubber Soul and Revolver fan. I thought that was their most outstanding period . Help was the start of this era for them. Its so fantastic you share all of these back stories along with explaining how to play each Guitar part . You certainly have made your mark on the music world .
Love this era with the blue Strats and volume pedals. I Need You comes to mind. Also the famous trebly solo on Nowhere Man. Never knew George used 2 tracks. Thanks Mike!
Wait is another of those Beatles album cuts that could/should have been a single/ It was in heavy rotation on WLS Chicago when Rubber Soul came out. One of my favorite Beatles songs. SUPURB vid. Thank you!
Thank you so much Mike! I’m watching your videos every night after work With a cup of coffee these days. I’ve learned so much about how The Beatles arranged their Music and the very sophisticated chords they used, by watching your videos! I Wish you could do a Paul bass-special, especially his ”Rickenbacker-era”, his basslines on the Revolver and Pepper-albums. That would be so cool !
Mike, this is superb on every level. The song's backstory, the breakdown of the guitar parts, and your painstakingly accurate transcriptions are top notch. I know you're a big Beatles' fan, and that this is a labor of love, but the time and effort you put into this can only be imagined when we have the luxury of seeing the finished product in a 17- minute video. Thanks for your passion and the hard "labor-intensive" hours you committed to this lesson!
Great lesson, and interesting back story! I like the fact that the tape they used in November for “Wait” for Rubber Soul was recorded on the day I was born - June 17, 1965.
BTW, I finally checked out the website.. Had no clue you were from Youngstown. Wow, small world! I live not to far away from there, a little south, along the river. I'm sure you know local legends Dave Morgan and maybe Keith Williams from East Liverpool. Anyways, just thought that was pretty cool. Greetings from Ohio! ✌️
After watching McCartney on the Recent Hulu Special breaking down some of the Beatles music, I would have to believe he would love and appreciate the detail you bring to these songs. I think Paul would be amazed!! Great job as always Mike.
What a wonderful song. particularly what the volume control does. I always heard two tracks playing that part, and the subtlety and feel are quite remarkable !! Thanks Mike !
Great musical analysis as & performance always Mike! I continue to be blown away by the creative musical genius of the Beatles! It just boggles the mind. Imagine having to come up with 14 songs for an album in such a short time period. Just freaking amazing! Hope that you are doing well & staying safe over there! 👍😉
@@MPfrance I meant it as a teacher a lot of the songs I wanted to know how to play and all they had is in these piano books yeah I was the lead singer of myself back then you could almost pass for John Lennon in 1967 lol
I love the Mike Pachelli Brady bunch lessons! Best of all they are freeing UA-cam! I make sure to watch all the advertisements. Only on your channel though.
Definitely one of the catchiest songs on Rubber Soul! Wasn’t expecting this one, but hey I’m just a 17 year old Beatles fan and guitarist so I guess anything can happen, as always thanks Mike! Your work is always appreciated ☺️Also nice Strat! I own one myself and it’s probably my favorite guitar of all time! I hope to have a Beatles guitar collection someday
It's amazing to me. When the fabs came I was lucky enough to witness it on Ed Sullivan, (in those days performers performed live on TV). By that time no young people really listened to our parent's music. Here we are over 60 years later and young guys like you are still into them! Keep on rockin' kid!
@@justiceforall6412 Thank you for the comment. I love reading up these, and seeing different generations come together. I'm 32 years old and learned to play on my dads guitar. My favorite guitarist is George

Mike, absolutely excellent! As others have said, your presentation with chords and backstories is superb. Heck, do 'em all! Present them as albums. :) I'd buy 'em.
I think your fast becoming known as the ‘6th Beatle’ Mike😊 Really appreciate your effort, time and talent to recreate these timeless classics and breakdown the arrangements for us! Unfortunately I can only chunk out a few chords but love these lessons so much!!😊😊
Mike Any chance you can cover “While my guitar gently weeps” I appreciate it’s a George song but the tune and the lyrics totally captivate me Cheers Carlo
Great lessons and background, as usual, Mike. I've learned a lot from you. Interesting thing regarding Wait is that, in my Beatles Complete Chord Book (an ancient tome inherited from a late brother), it's played with a capo on 2.
Stephen - Thanks for the kudos. I appreciate it! And yeah - those old Beatles books tried to make it as simple as possible to play the songs. They weren't interested in showing exactly how the lads did them.
Paul wrote it, John put his touch on it, George perfected it, and then Ringo finished turning it into a Beatle song. Four geniuses at work
Eduardo - "Four geniuses" indeed!
John wrote it
@@ideadigital11 na, paul wrote it, but im guessing paul thought johns voice suited the song best

This is such an underappreciated song. Thanks for doing this one. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada.
The 5th Beatle, Mike Pachelli. Keep up the great work!
'Wait' is a brilliant song. One of their best.
Agreed absolutely it's a brilliant track
Really great Mike! Rubber Soul has to be a contender for best Beatles album. "The Word" would be a great track to do!
I said above that 'Wait' was one of my favourites on the LP. But 'The word' IS my actual favourite.
Love The Word
