Thanks mike this really helped me out im 13 years old and been trying to learn this song for a while i watched all your lessons and learned a lot from you. Thank you so much
Would have been so nice to have this video when I was 13 and starting out! You picked a song with soul - and that says much about you. Glad to see your interest in guitar and The Beatles, truly a golden sound forever. Best of Fortunes!
As a relatively older cat it’s great to see younger players learning these timeless songs! Good luck and keep learning great music. Learning The Beatles songbook not only helped my playing but turned me on to singing and songwriting.
Mike I am a keyboard player have been watching your engrossing videos for years! For aficionados of the Beatles your videos bring us great joy and a huge appreciation of your deep dive, spectacular and myriad skills in producing these delightful videos!
I am impressed that neither guitarist hogs the limelight. Rather it is sections of tasteful chord variations (some fuller, some not so) and little licks. IIt all fits together so well.
Im almost 60, lately, everyday i listen to the rooftop recording. I love it. Ive been a Genesis, PG, Roxy music. 801 live kind of person. This recording on the rooftop is just awesome. Its new and fresh to me. From so long ago, is just amazing. Thank you for this breakdown, i now watch you everyday on top of the rooftop. Very enjoyable the rooftop and you. OMG bro your awesome!!
I remember one time my professor of Calculus, uttered the famous line 'I've Got a Feeling"!, while solving a simple integral problem! I don't know -- I think that he might, subconsciously, have been a Beatles fan! :)
...this is one of my all time favourite Beatle songs...have never quite known why but its got something to do with that opening Lennon riff and the absolutely jaw dropping McCartney vocal..thank god they recorded the rooftop concert..a defining moment in music history😊
This song is such a great example of the Beatles going with “ feel” on a song. Noted of course it’s totally LIVE, which is why it’s so cool in my opinion. Great job of course on the video!
Mike, oh my! The similarity was astounding! You have once more demonstrated this band's brilliance; I regret that they split up because collectively, they are the best rock and roll band ever. And you totally killed it!
Reed - Thanks very much and yeah - it'd would have been great to hear how they'd progress with the advance of recording technology. What they did on primitive equipment was outstanding and today, most home studios FAR surpass what the lads used.
Mike thank you so much for this amazing lesson, I am a twelve year old and I thought I could never learn this song but then I found your channel, and it's been helping me learn so many Beatles song's; including this one!
You are THE best teacher online on Beatles songs, my goodness, jaw dropping really, the way you can tell and recreate all of their songs, I just love it so much, BIG THANKS!
I’ve been waiting for ages for you to do this. Brilliant work Mike. I honestly think the live version they did on The rooftop is arguably their greatest live performance of all time.
Mike, It has to be said, you are the absolute best on The Beatles. I got to tell you that your John Lennon voice is awesome! Thanks for continuing the journey & the great lessons. Peace!
Hi Mike. I've been following your videos for quite a while, and it's impressive how talented you are. It's always so fun to watch you, and I love those little moments of Beatles history you do, it feels like going back to the 60's. Thanks for your hard work. Rock on!
Mike, you are fantastic at this; history/trivia, dissecting rhythms and melodies...etc. You are the best! I love the music part of the Beatles as much as you do...Oh! and I'm totally jealous of where you live AND your studio!
Mike, you do a great job--better than anyone else I've seen--of showing us some of how the Beatles made their magic--that's what it was. Plenty of people were making music, and a lot it was very good. But only the Beatles made magic. You've obviously invested a lot of your time and your immense talent in sharing this with us. You allow a hack guitarist like me to sometimes convince myself I can actually play. Thank you.
What can I say that hasn't already been said about the immense talent that you possess?!! You're unbelievable Mike you are just absolutely unbelievable at recreating the essence of how great The Beatles were and still are! I have been a fan of yours since I found you on UA-cam 4 years ago and now that I bought my first guitar at the age of 62 I want to learn how to play some of these songs and I've never played guitar in my life and I'll never be able to play guitar and sing the way you do but I really got to say let the love that you put into this presentation and the dedication that you put into it leaves me Spellbound! You are the greatest the best I've recreating the sound of the Beatles hands down! Everybody else is a karaoke act compared to you! May God bless you with many many years of playing ability and health because you are a phenomenon and absolute Force recreating the magic of The Beatles note by note with every attention to every detail! I am a fan for life! Both you and Phil Keaggy should reunite for a Beatles tribute album! I'm telling you it would go platinum!
@@MPfrance your a freak buddy lol you even play johns mistakes lol love your stuff keep it up whenever I learning a new Beatles song I look u up, keep up the great work it’s much appreciated ❤
This is a great example of what George brings to a Lennon-Mccartney song. He never was super proficient, but as far as playing in a manner that serve the song, there is nobody better.
Hello from one beatles fan to another. Luv ya. Hey I think George was very proficient, his technique surpassed the others and he used his precision to season each song perfectly
THANK YOU! The guitars on this song have been haunting me for days. I haven't played for years, but this makes me want to try again. I have carpal tunnel so it's almost impossible to play very much. I learned on acoustic in high school and never learned electric guitar. The class was pretty basic so I didn't learn much of the stuff you talk about here. I hope to express myself again and maybe with your teachings I can do that. Thanks again. Heading over to your site after I listen to the roof top concert one more time.
Maybe I'm Amazed at Mike's talent at every level to put this video together---history, note-by-note explanation of every lick, and one of the best performances of this song ever! Thank you so much!
brilliant mike, loved it, hope you watched paul doing his duet with john at glastonbury this year doing this song, brilliant tribute to john from macca,
As usual, that was a terrific lesson and rendition of a classic Beatles tune Mike! I will never understand how they were able to continually produce all of that incredible body of music. Just mind blowing! Thank you so much for keeping their music alive! Hope that you are doing well! 👍👍👏👏🎸🎸🎤🎤
what exquisite, amazingly daring guitar arrangements to accompany the beautiful vocal melodies - incredible Beatles - and you explain it so well even for no musicians like myself. Thank you for this great video
Jerry - Thanks Jerry - you are too kind. I wouldn't say I "nailed it." There's nobody that gets anywhere close to the likeability, charm & power of a young McCartney screaming out some lyrics.
When these guys splice things together it takes some real talent.I studied recording back when tape had to be spliced .Haha.This song is so cool.I bought the album in 1978 and it blew me away.I have a Deluxe Reverb as well .Amazing amp that Fender breakup is perfect. The way the guitars intetact is magic.George pulled the coolest notes out
That's a cool story of how this song came together, and adds great context. Your diligence in researching and putting this together is much appreciated, Mike.
Thanks Mike. That's a lot of work. "I've got a feeling" you played a right handed bass and then flipped the image around for the play along. Very cool!
Well done Mike, you captured 👏 the total essence of what was once the most superfluous iconic band of the 20th century. Thank you for such a superb in detail rendition. Pure excellence.
Mike, this is amazing. I've been wanting to learn this song for 50 years! Now you have shown the way in this simple, yet amazingly complex song put together by the two musical geniuses! With George's part and of course the drums of Mr. Starr, this song has so much magic happening. Bravo my friend!!! (and thanks!!)
Fabulous! All the attention to detail is just so awesome and admirable! And the history lesson suggests a true connoisseur of the Fab 4...thanks much sir!

Thanks a lot, Mike, you showed it perfectly. I‘ve been waiting quite some time for you teaching this song that I like a lot. Again, what a lot of work you put into this. Very impressive. Over the years this song has grown and grown on me. You did a fantastic job with those vocals too. Thank you once again Mike for a great lesson.

Mike Pachelli is easily the best guitarist/basist/drummer/singer/teacher to ever exist. Ive never had any problems learning from you!!!

Paul's "woo hoo" before the outro is the most brilliantly timed and executed bit of enthusiastic ad libbing of all time.
Yeah - he was a GREAT screamer!
