1) Your laughing but can you afford it? 2) You know how much it cost to manufacture and design and all new system like that for just 1 model? 3) I'm not rich but I know for a fact that 180K for a super car these days is nothing. You want everything bespoke on a car, get ready for a $500,000 price tag (think LFA).
Mike A I can’t afford it but If i was rich and paying 180K for a car like that I want a nice back up camera with a warning when I’m parking just saying!
Its really cool how a lot of its features came from a normal Acura, and it makes sense because they are trying to show of what Acura as a brand knows, the super car is the crux of there knowledge. I noticed the same thing on the corvette, its platform extends to a lot of cars, some of the corvette cheapness also extends but the performance is quiet good.
As for infotainment I guess tesla is the only company that can do right and that's because they are software heavy. Want the Tesla bad but having to charge it seems like it would be a hassle.
13:55 "and the tires are getting warmer too, so they'll get a little more slippery". I was always and under the impression its the opposite in that when you tires are cold they are slippers but gain more traction as they warm up?
Yeah what the other guy said, if you warm them a bit on the track they get stickier but too warm and they will start to lose all traction quickly hence why drifting and breakign tires loose under power in a track racing scenario is considered very bad technique. You want the tires warm not hot.
I know what you mean bro, but even as someone who loves hondas I wouldn't play 189k for a honda/acura (same thing ya know). The whole point of a japanese sports car is to be cheap and still destroy the competition- at least thats how I see it.
vtec kickedin - I'm a Honda fanboy too but I think you have the wrong mentality about it. The original NSX was designed to compete with Italian exotics at about a 75% of the cost. Keywords "compete with" not destroy. This car starts at 150K which is nothing these days for a super car. Have you seen how expensive a Hurracan is or a new McLaren? This car is a bargain bro and can hang with them.
Hugppyz I was only making the point that Honda would jump on the opportunity for some publicity. I think its a fine car as far as performance is concerned, i just dont like the interior/exterior, heavy hybrid system, and (relative ofc) low hp combustion engine. Id take a 570s, r8 v10, or any porsche gt car over this, which are all in the same price range(ish).
Yeah, isn't it? I had always wanted the original NSX since before he was probably born and he gets to drive the new one for a week - and other supercars too.
You're one of many that don't seem to understand the effort it takes, AFTER receiving the car. He can't just park it in front of his house and look at it for a week. He needs to deliver. Acura wants him to show certain parts of the car, mention some of its features and they may have even rented the track for him. He's expected to return it in pristine condition so there's the extra pressure of driving a supercar on a track you've never been to, without track experience, and having to perform at least decently. There's hours upon hours of footage to select, cut, edit, put together, render, send to Acura for approval, make changes. It's not all fun and chill.
Paul G Sorry about the wall of text I’m about to drop on you, but I like sharing my experience with anyone. You don’t have to read it if you don’t want too, I don’t mind. Anyway, I stopped uploading videos on my channel for several months now I think, and after a few short years of being a UA-camr, I learned first hand experienced how time consuming and demanding it is to just upload one video a day. People who’ve never done this before thinks UA-camr has it easy and think it’s mostly just playing games and screaming into the mics and making easy cash from it. But honestly it could be just as tought as a regular full time job IF NOT MORE. So again hour wise it’s like a full time job, maybe more. It took my friends (who are also relatively new to doing UA-cam) anywhere from 2 to 3 hours recording session a day, then it can take anywhere from 5 to 6 hours to fully edited it down to an 8 to 14 minutes video, and depending on your computer spec it could take you another 30 minutes or hours more just to convert it to files for uploading, and if you also create your own thumbnail it could take another 30 minutes to an hour worth of your time. And depending on your internet speed it could take you all the way up to hours to completely upload your video to UA-cam. And if you could be looking to do that all over again tomorrow. So you could potentially looking at at least 40 hours work week like a regular full time job (8 hours a day 5 days a week) or even more. Unlike a regular job you don’t benefits like 401k or health and dental, also you don’t get weekends or nor holidays off if you build a large fanbase and they demand you upload at least once a day every (otherwise they get mad and might even drop their subscriptions from your channel) so yes, UA-cam can be extremely demanding on the body and mind if you don’t have the passion or have what it takes to make a successful living of from it.
I enjoyed this one more. The original NSX was what you said this one was, an everyday supercar. Doesn't mean you want to drive it everyday but you could. Being an Acura it'll probably last 100,000 miles. Thank you Marques.
A lot of tech reviewers aren't car guys... And some of those aren't.. umm.. athletic. MKB is a n0ob at the car thing, but he's athletic and willing to learn, which means he's ready to advance quickly on track in the hands of an instructor (as apparent in the video). Big kudos to MKB for attempting this the right way. Some UA-camrs are heading out to press events with fast cars on track with next to zero formal training and it shows in their reviews. That said, the non-car-guy techy viewpoint is a perfectly valid one for car reviews (Mr Mobile, etc).
i mean he sees it from a tech guy point of view., so theres that. He doesn't see it from a experienced car guy point of view. u gotta take this in consideration criticisim him.
Yeah, and you can tell he's not really a car guy, and he's just jumping right into the craziest cars. I know that having crazy flashy cars like this and the Lambo is more interesting to a non-car enthusiast audience, but I would love to seem him drive some much more barebones cars, master the basics of car control, and then drive some super advanced cars. Then he would have a frame of reference to compare to. If he went to just a few HPDE days and learned how to drive at the limit, maybe track a manual Miata or something where you can fully exploit the performance of the car, understand weight transfer, understeer/oversteer, rev matching/heel toeing etc., then a supercar review would be much more interesting because he would: A. Be able to at least drive the car aggressively and see what it's made of, and B. Talk about the improvements with all the power/tech. If he got used to driving a stickshift car and then jumped into a dual clutch with shifts in the milliseconds, and electric motors filling those gaps with torque, I'm sure he would have a lot more to say about those systems as he would see the improvement they bring-not just have that improvement as his baseline. I understand not doing it though because most of the audience won't be that into just seeing him learn car control in a 150hp roadster, but I would. Maybe on a second/bonus channel or something. Also he's obviously a super busy guy who maybe can't commit that much time to fucking around on a skidpad at a driving school.
toaster and noise has a lot to do with fun factor. Porsches flat 6 is one of the best sounding engines currently on the market imo next to a Ferrari V12. another thing is the fact that it revs to 9000rpm and doesn't drive as fast which make for a more fun car in my opinion
You did such a good job showing this car off. I'm buying a civic type r soon. The type r and this car are just my dream cars. You do such a darn good job man I'm so extremely passionate about cars Honda being my favorite manufacturer.
If he's using regular street tyres (which he probably is because it's the only way he can drive in the rain while living in jersey) that's correct. Tyres with grooves get slippery when they get hot
@@marckost2000 exactly, street tires are not designed for track levels of heat and will lose traction where actual racing slick tires will increase grip at track level heat and slip at cold temps. One word, compound.
@@mattbray_studio you're welcome man, just think about f1 rain tyres (which would in racing something close to this), can't use them for long if it's dry because they'll overheat and you'll spin really quickly
Coming back and watching all these again, this one stands out because I really don't agree on your definition of "supercar". A supercar does not *need* to make any tradeoffs whatsoever to be a supercar, it just needs to be faster around a track than virtually all other cars 'below' it's class when all are stock. You absolutely *can* have your cake and eat it too with a supercar, it's just that doing so is *really, really* hard due to physics and so I would argue that the most impressive supercars are the most 'liveable' ones, and they usually have the pricetag to boot. That need to beat almost all cars in the lower 'tier' is also what sets hypercars apart from the crowd- they need to be that much faster that there is *barely* any room at all for it to be 'liveable' now, and again I would argue that the most liveable ones in that category are by far the most impressive.
Knowing you and your editors spent hours making that 3-second intro, shaping and keyframing the car front into an animated silouhette artwork makes me appreciate youtube and modern times. Quality.

s7 Tayko No, he still has the tesla and he's still getting the new Tesla roadster when it comes out.
Draven Alexander Damn. Tesla cars have absolutely no soul. It sounds like a vacuum going into overdrive. If you’re like me that is a big downside.
He is waiting for the holy grail Roadster haha
Love the car video Marques. This was a very enjoyable automotive video. Keep it up.
Well I checked my bank account and it looks like I wont be getting this car any time soon.

Lol 😁 😁
It's a honda sooo makes sense too share parts
1) Your laughing but can you afford it? 2) You know how much it cost to manufacture and design and all new system like that for just 1 model? 3) I'm not rich but I know for a fact that 180K for a super car these days is nothing. You want everything bespoke on a car, get ready for a $500,000 price tag (think LFA).
Mike A I can’t afford it but If i was rich and paying 180K for a car like that I want a nice back up camera with a warning when I’m parking just saying!

„This is the new 2017 Acura Nsx“, Doug DeMuro 23.05.2017.
NicoNicht *this* is the *two thousand* seventeen *acura* nsx
Omg this is the perfect video in 4k. Thank you for the eye candy.
Auto Focus is like Dope Tech for cars it's so awesome.
Nice helmets tho. ;)
Bad you 😂😂😉
Its really cool how a lot of its features came from a normal Acura, and it makes sense because they are trying to show of what Acura as a brand knows, the super car is the crux of there knowledge. I noticed the same thing on the corvette, its platform extends to a lot of cars, some of the corvette cheapness also extends but the performance is quiet good.
Honda/Acura always gives great value, never screwing over there customers. Great company!
As for infotainment I guess tesla is the only company that can do right and that's because they are software heavy. Want the Tesla bad but having to charge it seems like it would be a hassle.
THIS. IS. WILD. *This whole series is like.....the MKBHD version of Top Gear* lol
This is better than the new one
I bet he just caught a bug and we can plan on seeing many more track day vids/ project car videos in the future.
13:55 "and the tires are getting warmer too, so they'll get a little more slippery". I was always and under the impression its the opposite in that when you tires are cold they are slippers but gain more traction as they warm up?
If tire warm to much then become slippery also
Yup, there is a happy medium. ... . . I miss track days ...
Depends on the compound of the tire. If they're street tires, they are less grippy when warm.
Yeah what the other guy said, if you warm them a bit on the track they get stickier but too warm and they will start to lose all traction quickly hence why drifting and breakign tires loose under power in a track racing scenario is considered very bad technique. You want the tires warm not hot.
That's why drag cars do burnouts to heat the tires for better grip
The New Honda/Acura NSX is one of the most underrated and overhated modern Cars, honestly that makes me pretty sad as it really is a fantastic car
Christopher Nicolas Viertel because it’s overpriced
I know what you mean bro, but even as someone who loves hondas I wouldn't play 189k for a honda/acura (same thing ya know). The whole point of a japanese sports car is to be cheap and still destroy the competition- at least thats how I see it.
Christopher Nicolas Viertel the old gen was the shit way back
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.
vtec kickedin - I'm a Honda fanboy too but I think you have the wrong mentality about it.
I love how you do your videos. Very good work man.
Honda sold how many last month? 5? of course they reached out
The car was already "used" when honda finally decided to sell them. A used honda for $189000, of course they only going to sell 5 every month
Graham Williams the nsx is slept on like rich people only buy Italian exotics or German manufacturing but rarely Chinese manufacturing
@@evaluna122 the nsx is built in the USA not in china.
@@grahamwilliams2494 exactly, that's what people don't get, the nsx has no business costing 180k even though it's a well engineered car
Your life is so awesome! Car companies just giving you a car like this baby for an entire week.
Yeah, isn't it? I had always wanted the original NSX since before he was probably born and he gets to drive the new one for a week - and other supercars too.
It's not all fun and games. He works very hard to earn that opportunity.. and he had to work hard to review it.
You do know he has to shoot and edit fuck-load of footage, right? Also write script. Narrate whole thing...

Sorry about the wall of text I’m about to drop on you, but I like sharing my experience with anyone.
Can you drive a Tesla Model X or the semi truck from Tesla?
Semi truck won't be coming out for a while
I enjoyed this one more. The original NSX was what you said this one was, an everyday supercar. Doesn't mean you want to drive it everyday but you could. Being an Acura it'll probably last 100,000 miles. Thank you Marques.

Tech guys apparently don't know how to throw a supercar around...
was it not obvious to you that that was a joke?
He doesn't see it from a experienced car guy point of view. u gotta take this in consideration criticisim him.
jaystwocent is probably the exception, he does track days
To throw a supercar around? Is that english?
But what’s the Doug Score?

I want to see you drive a super car from the 80's or 90's. Just to compare the rawness of them to these modern super cars.
King_tazz Should I stop making yt videos ?👁
So would i, i bet he hits a tree as soon as he hits some classic 80s/90s boost with no electronic aids.
Images of my first Diablo drive jump to my mind, with all sweaty bodyparts and unrelenting fear of death...
if you're not on the verge of getting killed it's not a super car.

I kept waiting for the doug score lmao
He's like black Doug Demuro
Doug is the type of guy ............
I'm really glad he addressed that a good many people don't consider the NSX a supercar. I disagree with them, but I'm glad that it was a addressed.
IS THIS DOUG DEMURO ?
Piotr O what is the doug score on this one?
But where are the quirks and features?
Right?
Now you gotta drive a Porsche
Julius Peoples 918 would be awesome
GT3 would be a great experience for him, especially with a professional driver to show him what it's all about
LamboPlays then he has to experience a GT2RS but that’s probably not going to happen
Marc Degasperi GT2RS doesn't have the fun factor of the GT3
toaster and noise has a lot to do with fun factor. Porsches flat 6 is one of the best sounding engines currently on the market imo next to a Ferrari V12. another thing is the fact that it revs to 9000rpm and doesn't drive as fast which make for a more fun car in my opinion

"The tires are getting a little warmer so they'll feel a bit more slippy" ... yo Marq you sure Chris is a pro?
I was thinking the same. He meant sticky
@@marckost2000 thanks for the info, i was confused why they would get slippery
@@mattbray_studio you're welcome man, just think about f1 rain tyres (which would in racing something close to this), can't use them for long if it's dry because they'll overheat and you'll spin really quickly
"I love this series"
Stops uploading this series
