Secret Muskies of The Appalachian Wilderness
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- My brother and I hiked down to the banks of a free flowing river in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains for some late winter musky fishing. The water temperature started at about 40F and rose to 41F throughout the day. The air temperature reached about 50F. Muskies were found in slower pools near deep water. Most action occurred mid afternoon.

That place looks beautiful, bet it would be amazing during peak fall foliage. Would love to check that place out sometime.
I've had a lot of fun on a few trips to West Virginia's stretch of the Shenandoah River for smallmouth, but I bet there would be musky as well in the right areas. You sure had a scenic spot on your river.
Awesome stream, awesome video, thanks for sharing...
Thank you
Another great video. Excellent work!
Thank you!!
Beautiful day, thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I love this atmosphere of appallachia and movies from this river, in Poland we heard legends about these mountains and a monster prowling in the mountains 😄 some kind of humanoid creature like a big foot or something 😄 ps beautiful musky congratulations I'm waiting for more movies from this area and river greetings from Poland and welcome to my channel 🙂
🙏
That's a sweet spot!!
Too cool of a spot
Agreed
The illusive Musky is a bucket list fish. Recently moved to Western NC and they've got those "fish of 10,000 casts" around here. Maybe I'll inadvertently hook up on one while targeting large and small mouth bass?!?!
It could happen! Might wanna beef up your leader though. If I’m walleye/bass fishing and I think that might happen I’ll use a 60-80 lb fluorocarbon leader…as long as the water is murky enough that the bass won’t care
Nice work guys!! Beautiful place, beautiful fish! BTW,I love sardines!
Never understood the bad rap! 😂
Beautiful spot! Cheers from Italy!
I’ve gotten skunked on this stretch of the river twice i’m not going back lol. Glad to see somebody having success.
Thanks man…ya its definitely a lot of effort per fish
What river is this?
@@dbrown3217they could tell ya, but then they would have to kill ya!!! Haha 😂😂😂😂 Never let them know your spots!!🤪🤪🤪🤪
Do you know what river this is?
Johnny with the J ! killer vid

Someone in the comments suggested I try in fall with the foliage…excited to try that this year
@@absoluteunitmedia dude without a doubt the fall would be gorgeous there and fall musky bite 🔥 🔥 🔥
Awesome atmosphere. What river is this?
is it good catching musky in the Will Smith mountain lake?
Johnny started off the day right. Looks like a great trip and J- Vision was dope.
Thanks!! Johnny’s gonna love these comments 😂
Rewatched these a few times great vids.
Thank you, I appreciate it
Awesome vid! Bummer you lost that bigger one but congrats Johnny!
Thanks Sam!
Looks like Arden?
I’ve never fished in West Virginia. That water looks so green. Is it usually that color?
Ya unless it’s muddy
To answer the question about the bricks. Long time ago a huge brick factory was here. It lasted from the late 1800's till 1950 when much of the buildings burned.
Do you know where this river is located?
Hey man love the content was wondering what type of net your using and what size you recommend
Mine is a stowmaster musky net. But with a heavy duty bag to replace the one it comes with…not sure of the size but not the biggest
Where did you get the replacement bag? I’m not happy with the one it came with. Thanks
@@KillerRock616 this website. The H at the end of the model number stands for heavy but make sure you get the right size hoop to match your net

J-vision provided some phat footage there!👍

Did you get a ride in with the Train track workers?
Not so lucky this time! Had to walk
Bro that is a 550 dollar combo holy hell
I bet there are beautiful smallies in there!
Dang I felt that pain of the first fish
My heart is still racing after watching this
Way to go boys!! Love it!
Thanks Aaron
It’s not “appalasha”
That clear blue water really gives those fish nice colors. That one you lost looked nice!! Great looking spot too!
Keep him in there! 😂
near asheville?
Lunch on struggle mode when big fella ain’t around smh
We make do 😂
That net ... as A. J. McClane put it, "muskie are big, razor-toothed, slimy, and active."
I got two muskies out of the tug fork river with a 4 inch finesse bait. A 37 and 38 inch both right around 15 lbs. Got one and the next day i got the other one both in the same spot.
Spot looks awesome! Every video I’m hoping to see you stick a musky on that minnow😂. Great work as usual!
Soon!
💪🏼
Sardines and an apple. Fucking savage lol
Keep your rod tip down to keep it from jumping. You’ll lose less fish.
Tough break on that one, sorry dude! Jealous you are out chasing already! Awesome your buddy got one!
Yep that’s my little bro. He’s got 7 on the year! I gotta catch up!
@@absoluteunitmedia well it’s nothing but ice over here to the west of ya, count your blessing, I’m ready to grind!
Put some hot sauce on the sardines
Noted
Should be throwing that king in there now that’s money just saying 🤷🏼♂️
Ya I haven’t used it enough. Gotta get some confidence
Where are you going?
Sorry but I don’t publicly name spots on this channel , I hope you understand
Bro I live for this level of excitement when us as anglers hook into a good fish. And to be there with your buddy when it happens is so awesome. I'll never forget the memories we make on the water. Nice vid guys! Tight lines 🎣
Thank you!!!
I love the action on that glide. I wonder if it would work on largies. I bet it would
I caught one on it the other day. Definitely would be good with a slightly smaller version
What type of net was you using? Awesome video
Thanks! Stowmaster musky net
I wonder what the story behind all the bricks
🤷♂️
That was a great musky.

Maybe get some waders and get in the water so you don't have to drag them across the bricks. Pretty fish pretty water over there. A bit different than here in northern Wisconsin.
