    We went fishing in the French River in Ontario, Canada for 4 days. We spent 3 days strictly targeting musky and it was very tough. We eventually had action using large glide baits in neck down areas (pinch points) with current or main river points with rocks and weeds adjacent to deep water during mornings and evenings.

    Me and my dad camped there for a week In June of 1987. Had a cottage on an island, no tv's, my dad brought steaks, chops, chicken, bacon, sausage so much great food. It didn't rain once that week. We ate breakfast, fished, ate lunch, fished until dark, had dinner, and went to bed. Rinse and repeat. I lost count of the Pike I caught. Caught a trophy smallmouth and even a big largemouth and a bunch of walleye. I miss the old man, but treasure the memories of that trip.
    Never forget the trip to our cottage, guy driving this boat full speed in between all these huge boulders in the water. It was anazing.

    I'm from a area that had alot of steel mills back in the day. It destroyed our local big river and most the smaller creeks leading into it. The water is orange. Well recently started fishing it amd caught 3 trout over 20 inches. A small mouth 24 inches. Caught more trophy fish in this river recently then any other body of water I ever fished. I don't usually keep fish. But one of the rainbow trout I caught didn't make it. Damn thing is 26 inches amd fatter then a football. Recently started fishing for musky with giant jerk baits. Just had a fish empty a entire spool of 15 pound test. It bite and pulled drag till I was out of line. Got the encounter on video. The fish was 4 foot long easily. I don't see a carp grabbing a massive jerk bait. It's hard to tell what kind of fish it was. But I found my dream river. No one else fishes it. And I'm fishing inside city limits. The river is massive also. All to myself. I'm located in sw Pennsylvania.

    What size & type line are you using when targeting musky & are you using a stainless steel litter, so you don't get bit off?? I used to do ton of pike, walleye, small mouth fishing. When I lived up north & took trips up to Canada few times. Now living down south. I don't think there's pike walleye down here? I haven't came across any, I have caught chain pickerel but small ones. Definitely good largmouth, striper & crappie fishing though! One my new spots I found is loaded with 14-15" crappie & I've caught ton of monster largmouth! This summer I've caught many 4's & 5.8 - 5.10 - 6.1 - 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 & my current PB largemouth an 11.4 she was 26.25 inches long & 17 inches I'm girth. Pulling my kayak extremely hard! I broke my largmouth PB 3 times in past few months. All released most importantly! That area your at is beautiful & looks like a blast to fish in the kayak

  • @thebigbaiter
    @thebigbaiter Рік тому

    Nice video! Can you advise me on this - when I'm working a jerkbait, the line on my Tranx 400 tend to create sort of a cone on the spool, not a nice even line distribution. On your vids I see it doesn't happen. Can you please share your opinion on that?

    • @absoluteunitmedia
      @absoluteunitmedia  Рік тому +1

      Hmm so it doesn’t happen with other baits? Not sure why that would be. Since the line guide doesn’t move when you cast, sometimes I will end up with line built up on one side or the other. When that happens I like to make a really long cast and if the line remaining on my reel still isn’t flat, I’ll strip out a few feet by hand until it is and until the line is lined up with the guide. Hope this helps
