Being a trucker. I've been in and out of container yards for years. Your mind would be blown away if you seen the operations going on around those yards. Sometimes it's crazy as it can be. I model the transitional area, God God, if I had to do container yards, I would chang hobbies!!!😅😅😅

On another point, a considerable amount of container traffic moves by barge along the east coast. Newark north as far as Maine, and south all the way to Miami. Some of the Miami traffic, I think, gets forwarded into the Caribbean.
New Orleans is the same. Containers from Houston and Galveston also continue this way.

Another awesome episode!! Intermodal night! 😊 once I get the layout up, I do plan on an intermodal yard of some sorts. I had a good laugh, though. I made it on the Spring Creek video. I was caught talking to George at the soundtrax booth. That was a great show too.

Thanks for another great episode. Long Time Listener, first time commenter. I do not model or collect anything USA based, I live in Australia and model HO Scale Australian Outline, New South Wales early to mid 1990's diesel era. In between layout at the moment, with a young family. Just about to start my next layout in the spare bedroom.
Would be great to see some running sessions on your layout for say 10-15mins after each show, showing off the models you have featured in each show.

Love your shows. I just started watching this episode. Regarding containers: why is it so difficult to find containers for the stack trains. If you have any pull please request all manufacturers to increase the production of containers. Thank you.
    Respectfully,
    Woodrow

I'm heartbroken that you started the episode by commenting on having a bad hair day! I would've never guessed that would enter your mind since it's not train related!😁

It may take a while to get it out -- i've barely started going through the plans -- but once I have a good working 3D printer file, making several copies should not be a problem.

Ken, From simple observation over the years I have watched "What's Neat", I feel your shows tend to focus on modern Railroading. Is this intentional? There are around 150 years of railroading that could be covered. If what I propose is intentional, your oosing me as a subscriber. These comments are my simple observations. Your opinions might vary!

    • @JamesRegiersModels
      @JamesRegiersModels Рік тому +2

Any specific era you would like to see better coverage for? When does “modern” begin? Mike is set on a specific point in the 1970s. I am all over the place Santa Fe with my collection, probably 1930s to early 1990s, with the future layout’s era likely to vary by the operating session. Austin models the present.
I can say that the eras we talk about have to do with either whatever product a sponsor has sent for Ken to show or with what interests folks sitting around the table.
We are not snubbing any eras, intentionally or otherwise. While we can’t satisfy every interest, it is always better to at least know where those interests might be.

@@JamesRegiersModels Any other eras would be good, If I say where my interests are, then I'm attempting to lead the program and that is not what I want.

@@markdeschane4467 not at all! We love seeing people’s layouts from EVERY era. There are a lot of facets of this hobby that band us all together as they are a common thread through both scale and era. You are welcome to provide your input and model photos. Thanks for the comments, and thanks for watching. 😉

@@mikebudde2570 Mike,, Thanks for getting back to me! My layout is really not good enough to show. I just think that the What's Neat show shoud diversify and not focus on the Modern era.

I know you think you can’t cover the topics in less time, but your videos are too long. I cannot, nor will not commit the time required to watch. Hold your time to less than 20 minutes.
