Living with the Land is the coolest! With all the wonderful fantasy attractions in the parks, it's amazing how much affection one develops for a ride based on the real world.
If Disney had a long boat ride, similar to the first half of ‘Living with the Land’, I would think the cast members would have to wake people up, at the end, to get them out of the boats. The ride would be so relaxing, especially on those exhausting hot, humid, Florida days.
Both times I've been to Orlando big storms prevented us from going to the parks. Now I will never get to ride Splash Mountain there. 😢 At least I have been on the Disneyland one many times. Thanks for taking us along to the end of an era, Adam!
Splash Mountain reminded me of Splashdown from the Apollo missions. The problem with the space shuttle is no Splashdown. I used to like watching the spacecraft parachuting down and then splashing in the ocean. Then the frogmen would help the astronauts into the zodiac and then into the navy ship.
Such a real pity that Splash Mountain is Closing. Heart breaking. At Disneyland; over at Pooh Corner, there was a little birdhouse right across from the exit of Splash Mountain. It was Mr. Bluebird’s house. 🏠 The door was latched by a magnet similar to a medicine cabinet. It was always empty. No Mr. Bluebird was ever home. During Easter, I used to stock up on Blue Marshmallow Peeps. I’d put them in a Ziplock bag, and sneak them in. I’d place the Mr. Bluebird Peep in there, and sometimes it would still be there 2 weeks later. Welcome home Mr. Bluebird. Welcome home.

Your video from yesterday inspired me to try the Five Guys in St. Paul. I got a burger and dog with everything like you did and it was really good but you were right, too much food! I may go back there just for the peanuts. They were very fresh and delicious. I haven't tried In & Out Burger yet but I have a feeling I would like it better.
