I own two of every Swiss Tech “Walmart” knife. They are PHENOMENAL VALUES and are exceptionally well made and durable. These are the real deal. I just ordered this new one thanks to your video.
Fixed blades are the outside working mans/farmer's companion. I was an engineer building large power transformers for ten years, mechanic through high school and college few years after, now farming where I cut my teeth on hard work as a child, my dad gave me my first blade at age 5, and I've been in love ever since, through all careers a goos knife has been a must.
My wife just exclaimed “not another knife!” - thereby elevating the Swiss Tech to my “must buy” list. Great review - you stand out in a field crowded with knife review.
Never heard of Swiss Tech. I'm a buck knife and leather sheath fan for fixed blades. I have to disagree with the notion that being real sharp(shaving sharp) is not essential on a so-called bushcraft knife. The number one necessity for ANY real knife is sharpness, because knifes are NOT hatchets.
It’s D2 steel. It will take an edge that is very sharp. How sharp is a function of the sharpening skill of the owner with everything but absolute junk steel.
Swiss tech has been around awhile, surprised you haven't heard of them. They are usually right next to buck knives in any shop or selection. They get sharp as hell, but you have to do it yourself on the cheaper ones, as they sell them in places like Walmart and stores where a lawsuit is a real concern. Get one, they are fairly cheap, very useful for many things.
I have a Swiss Tech folder , great knife , good steel , well made . I think the Bushcrafter is on my want list , looks like great camp / hunting option
Curious what the heat treat is, that BPS knife is 56-57hrc. As a camp knife, it doesn't have to be so hard its brittle, as long as it can put in work for $40.
I am a BUCK knife guy & I rarely buy folders (but I do have a few) , this looks like it might find a new home in my collection. I just need to keep an eye out for it. Tanx for showing it
No knife ever produced is as good as a old #119. I need a new leather case , we got a new heeler pup and he chewed the hell out of it ,all I can find on Amazon is the nylon garbage . I did see a diy kytex case kit might try that
Been looking for just such a knife, but due to various major medical problems, can not afford anything as yet...Even one as low-cost as this one. The thickness of the blade, handle material and overall ruggedness makes this knife a real stand-out, especially at this price point.
Had the Stahlern in AUS8. After re-sharpening to an 18° angle I was able to get about 10 cuts on sisal rope then dull. Very soft steel. Hopefully this one D2 will have a better heat treat and be stronger.
I like Swiss tech when the pocket knife (and a lot others) was dropped at Walmart last fall love my pocket knife with the disc thumb stud and I still want the matching fix blade
Nice looking blade. Haven't found one locally but did find a stash of the flashlights in case. Unfortunately, they disappeared before I could go get another one.
Thanks for doing this review. I'm new to your channel. I've been bushcrafting since the mid 80s, and I flintknap, so I don't always use "modern" knives, but I do use them quite a bit, specifically for bushcrafting I especially like low-cost surprises, like the Gerber Bear Grylls knife and a couple of different Ontario Knives options. I carry a Gerber 600 folder that I've carried all over the planet since 1991. I also still carry my Kabar, even though I ABSOLUTELY HATE the rat tail tang.
I picked up several of the Swiss Tech knives, and they're legit good. I replaced my SAK Classic SD with the Listig and haven’t changed back. Will keep an eye out for this one.
Thanks for your content. I"m lovin' the knife reviews. I have so many knives, I've spent years and $$$ collecting and/or acquiring. I still am a sucker for an inexpensive knife to carry to keep my more expensive knives new or "newish". It's an immense character flaw and I blame channels like yours for enabling me! ;)
I watch all your throwing videos and shorts and it was because of your videos that i went and got the stalhern, i just ordered the kraftig , the machete and the hatchet and they should be here soon 😎
Hi Beez, the fixed blade looks nice. Oh, by the way, the 1066 is the steel used on the BPS knife 🔪, I have one that I am going to patina to help keep away rust
Fixed blades are making a huge come back and Swiss Tech is helping lead the way. It's D2 steel that's good working Steel and that's great Bushcraft Steel.
The bowie knife we know of as a bowie today is most likely NOT what Jim bowie used that day. Any large knife I'm the old west became a Jim bowie until one was held above others. All knives then were made by a small black Smith, only one made, and we never will know what Jim bowie had in his hand that day.
@bobcollie8990 I know what you said brother. All I said is Jim bowie wouldn't know it as a bowie knife, nor was it even the sane style as the one we know as a Jim bowie knife, it woukd have looked more in line with a large bushcraft knife on steriods , then what we today thunk of as a bowie knife.

Swiss Tech makes great knives. I have two already!
Enjoying my swim listig, was hoping to add to the collection., this knife would make a great addition.
Been looking for just such a knife, but due to various major medical problems, can not afford anything as yet...Even one as low-cost as this one. The thickness of the blade, handle material and overall ruggedness makes this knife a real stand-out, especially at this price point.
Bought the Swisstech folder last fall, great economy pocket knife
Had the Stahlern in AUS8. After re-sharpening to an 18° angle I was able to get about 10 cuts on sisal rope then dull. Very soft steel. Hopefully this one D2 will have a better heat treat and be stronger.
Thanks for the heads' up. I have only used mine for camp food prep so far as my Gerber Strongarm and KaBar Mk. 1 do most of my camp work.
Polymer Sheath a looks like a nice knife. Swiss Tech makes Quality on a Budget!
Thank you for the GAW opportunity. And thanks for comparing the merch.
I like Swiss tech when the pocket knife (and a lot others) was dropped at Walmart last fall love my pocket knife with the disc thumb stud and I still want the matching fix blade

Very exciting New brand that’s not just knifes. They have some other very cool gear out and I hear more coming.
I picked up several of the Swiss Tech knives, and they're legit good. I replaced my SAK Classic SD with the Listig and haven’t changed back.
Will keep an eye out for this one.
Have the Swiss tech folder and it's an everyday carry/work knife. Pretty well made tools. I'll have to check this out.
Thanks Beez for the info. I don't even have a fixed blade yet.
I have several ST knives... love them
Tactile is the feeling of the handle in your hand the little grooves speckled dotted handle provides a tactile grip
Thanks for your content. I"m lovin' the knife reviews. I have so many knives, I've spent years and $$$ collecting and/or acquiring. I got the swisstech stahlern from Walmart about a year ago it's pretty nice. Aus 8 steel, sheath and ferro rod for $40. Got the listig too
Their little flipper models are smooth as glass
Nice Knife. Must have! Thank you!
I own the Swiss Tech Stahlern fixed blade. It is phenomenal.
Awesome looking fixed blade. I think I have maybe one or two fixed blades total. Need to change that! Thx!! 🙏
Tactical grip, used to give better handling to reduce slippage when wet hands/knife handle...🤠
Both knives are very nice.

Hi Beez, the fixed blade looks nice. Oh, by the way, the 1066 is the steel used on the BPS knife 🔪, I have one that I am going to patina to help keep away rust
Great knife review. I collect knives and watch a lot of reviews. Yours are on the “better” end of the spectrum!
Looks better than expected. Box says sheath is FRN. Fun!
I have their pocket knife and their last fixed blade. I was impressed with both so I’ll definitely buy this one too.
Cool looking knife. Thanks.
It refers to being blacked out for tactile use or military etc. kinda like dlc or black paint, it's saes jingo
A very simple and nicely styled fixed blade.
Fixed blades are making a huge come back and Swiss Tech is helping lead the way. It's D2 steel that's good working Steel and that's great Bushcraft Steel.
Looks great! Especially from Walmart!
Very nice Swiss Tech blades!
The Bowie knife is commemorating its namesake, Jim Bowie, who died in the Battle of the Alamo fighting for Texas independence from Mexico in 1836.

never said it was same knife. It’s a commemorative knife. They used to sell them in the gift shop at the Alamo.
