CRKT definitely did. I bought an M16 (can't remember which exact model) from Walmart when I was in my teens and it was a decent knife. I decided I wanted another one but this time I bought it from CRKT directly and the quality was much better.
@tacticalteamkilling6539 agreed, the CRKT's from Walmart suck compared to from another retailer. The Walmart ones dulled super fast compared to the others, I'm imagining if corners aren't cut in actual material stock, I'm betting they cheap out on the heat treatment.

Not unusual for large retailers to strike deals with manufacturers for products designed for a specific price point. For example you can buy a Weber grill at Lowes - but it’s not the same quality. Then they sell the same product to customers for whatever price they deem profitable.
Except that does not make any sense.
I got to give it to her or whoever came up with the idea, great way to let people know the knifes are at Walmart. FYI I do have some of these knifes.
I just bought the CRKT M16-01ks from Walmart. Got it for $35, like $20 cheaper than Amazon right now.
Bought a civivi mini praxis from walmart.... Good low price for a great sharp little knife.
I’m such a fan. You do such a good job on educating and your passion is amazing. Don’t change and keep it going 😊
I would watch any videos you put out. Great comparison ❤
I love Civivi! Thank you for doing this test. I was wondering if they were the same knife. My biggest worry is that since Civiv is hitting the mainstream and being sold at Walmart they are going to lower their quality standards. I have several and love them, but many product's quality seems to downhill once they get into Walmart. Love your channel, thank you for all the great reviews.
Hey thank you! The idea for the video came out of genuine curiosity myself, you never know!
Walmarts big brand items are typically considered to be defective or have some type of manufacturer defect.
Thanks for another great video, and for making me smile! You did good, Melissa!
Great video Melissa! Been watching your videos for years. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I try to make them fun and informative :)
All that knife smarts and drop-dead good looks.... If I was only 50 years younger.
What kind of steel? There could be a $50 or more difference with a high end steel versus a cheap, low carbon steel. I think the steel is the same in your demo though. Thanks for making it!
Oh wow! Cannot believe you actually went into Walmart? I didn't see any deals in the one I went to. Id just get mine from a real dealer. Thanks for the great comparison!
I, like so many others, appreciate your videos. I wondered if there was a difference also. Thank You.
I can rest easy now knowing that knives I would never buy at a store I never go to are the same as the ones I wouldn’t buy online 😂
It was still the best show I ever saw!
Wow, sharp looking knives! Thanks for the video. So, is there a difference in pricing? Thanks again for the video!
Always good to know there is somewhere close to home to get on line gear including knives. Thanks.
