Lyrics:
Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side,
The summer’s gone and all the roses falling,
It’s you, it’s you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow,
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow,
It’s I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny Boy, oh Danny boy I love you so!
But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying,
If I am dead, as dead I may well be
Ye’ll come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel and say an Ave there for me;
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me,
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
My son, Danny, was born 6 weeks early. He and I stayed in the hospital four days. Upon release I walked out the front doors and to the nearest bench to wait for my ride. An elderly man sat beside us. He asked to see him and commented what’a wee little fella’. He had a bit of an Irish Accent. He asked his name and when I told him, he asked if he could gift him something, curious, I of course said yes; he sung this whole song too my enfant. I just knew he was Danny’s Guardian Angel !!! What a truly lovely moment and a Gift from God above! I knew that he would be fine and grow up strong! And he has. Thanks 🙏 for listening to my old tale. Blessings to all of you. Amen 🙏
Amen!
Blessing of Christ Jesus to you and your Danny boy 🙏. What a beautiful story, thank you for sharing.
Blessed by the Irish darl'n. The Angel Isle.. ;)
Thank you sir 🙏
Bless you and your son..
This was my grandmothers favourite song. She was Catholic of strong Irish Ancestry, but born and brought up in England. Everytime I hear, O Danny Boy it reminds me of my grandmother..
Seventeen years ago I left the hospital where my wife had just passed and the local radio station was playing "Danny Boy"! That was heart touching and yet a blessing.
Ten years ago a DNA test showed I am 98.1% Irish. I am 86 years old now and am planning a trip to the Emerald Isle with my son & grand-son this summer.
Mr. True, I am very sorry for your loss and am happy you have found comfort in this song. I look my own DNA test a few years back, which showed that I am one-third Irish/Celtic. Ever since, I have dove into Irish songs, sports, and the culture itself. I hope to travel to Ireland in the near future, and I hope you have a great trip!
@@roryhoward5018 Thanks for your comments. I am 86 so please pray that I will make the trip to Ireland soon!
Blessings.
That touched my heart my friend. I have been married just over 30 years and the idea of not having her struck me
🙏🏼💜🙏🏼 May God bless your path.
Best regards from eastern Oregon ♥️🇺🇸
I'm so sorry for your loss I'm praying for you to have strength to carry on don't feel bad about having little a cry
Timeless song of love of a father for his son who went off to war.
My father sang this tune to me when I was a little boy, it never gets old.

A much needed dose of soul-healing beauty in a world that's filled with unprecedented amount of ugliness. Thank you...
Bravo!
It’s not unprecendented. You just live now. Incidentally the amount of beauty is the same as well if you care to look.
It is darkest before the dawn. Foster a vibrant light inside of yourself and it will radiate outwards and become a beacon for others. Remember always that darkness cannot exist where there is light, but even a small flicker of light can endure and be seen in the darkness.
I'm one of those people who can't hear Danny Boy without immediately bursting into tears (the 80% of my DNA that's Scottish/Irish, I guess?). This is such sublime perfection. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful performance.
A truly beautiful song. It's the first tune that my father sang to me at the age of 6. I've sung it many times, and have never finished it without a tear in my eye. Long live 'Danny Boy'.
☘️ Sitting here this day in tears…☘️
Thank you.
This video has my Irish Catholic Mother crying from Heaven. God bless you Mom! You guys and girls are amazing!! I love this!
Adding a few tears for my Irish Catholic Grandma Mildred and her granddaughter, my sister Kerry
For my dear father whose heart stopped beating on 20 Dec 2020. We miss him in this realm but he is surely watching over his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. RIP John, best dad ever.
Nobody goes to Heaven when they die. Everyone will be resurrected and judged at The Second Coming.
If there is any music on our beloved planet, that truly touches ones soul, it is... this.
To me, this is beauty at it's purest, filled with heart, soul and love. I will proudly say, I shed a tear or... five, when I listen to this, simply cause it touches my very soul.
Thank you ever so much, Choral Scholars, for sharing your talent and passion with us.
The women have a beautiful grasp on Danny and deliver so complex delivery of mixed men included for perfection and sacred beauty
Such an astonish voice and wonderful women over there. The Irish people are really amazing.
Although I am not an Irish, I am deeply toutched with your chorus bringing me to a nostargic world. I am a pure Japanese. I love Irish songs.I appreciate you so muc.
its an English song /written by an Englishman
@@chrissydidit811 it’s not an English song; it’s a very old Irish (to be specific, Derry) tune. However, the lyrics best known to the world are indeed written by an Englishman, hence why those are sung here. Check out Sean o se - Maidin I mBéarra for the original Irish lyrics.
@@vancerefrigerations6891 a tune is a melody ------- a song is complete, so its an ENGLISH song !
@@jspee1965 there are many good and bad things oirish this is NOT one ,you can claim it but you don't own it !
@@chrissydidit811 Actually I revere the song from way back. The Irish are in all of us. Yes my family is from Scotland and Ireland, centuries of history. My Dad born 1935 in old Hastings (Southern England) before WW2. I have photos of him with my Grandma walking in Brighton when he was 7 years old during the war. It's an amazing capture, and yes it belongs in a Museum.
Everything I hear by this magnificent choir gives me chills! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
I could listen to this all night long.
Any time I forget my irish heritage I swear these people pop up on my feed again to bring me back in
Right?? Same here.
Same here. Except I'm Nigerian. So weird.
@@exclusivefresh yes you it right, it is so weird, isn't it? 🤣🤣🤣
@@ravenbonanza1522 lol i am joking. i don't want to be irish. drop your silly nationalistic pride, you're a country of 4 million people. cheers lad.
@@exclusivefresh at least we didn’t lose got the Central African Republic
What a beautiful rendition. Well done, ladies and gentlemen.
As always, the arrangement is terrific and the aestathics of the production is spot on. It is always a joy to my choir-singing heart to experience a new release with you!
which one are you fucking?
One of the most beautiful songs in the world.
Heard this song first by Gary Moore on his album "Wild Frontier". But this choir takes the song to another height...
Your two new leads are phenomenal! I expect both of them to lead brilliant careers well after they graduate!
Further, the harmonies are otherworldly. The chorus is dressed like saints and angels, and the music fits!
I come running here as quickly as I can as soon as I see a new video; these never fail to add some magic into my day. x
I ALWAYS HAD ENJOYED THESE IRISH SONGS FROM MY CHILDHOOD BECAUSE I AM ALSO IRISH LISTENED TO THEM ALL MY LIFE EVEN WHEN I LIVE HERE IN CANADA, PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I ALWAYS ENJOYED ANS I SAVE THOSE SONG TO LISTEN TO THEM LOVE THEM PLEASE BRING MORE IRISH OUT LOVE THEM THANK YOU
I watch the live broadcast at 1pm and sense the peace and felt ready for 2022. It also felt like Ireland calling on me, so once the pandemic is over, I must visit Dublin. Thanks!!!
A song for the ages and beautifully sung.
Beautiful, I would love to hear them singing Ave Maria.
It as so warming to see the ranks grow with this years enrollment. I have the feeling we will hear some new lead vocals. 🌹
Sublime. The tears are sweet.
The first girl to sing her eyes are hauntingly beautiful. 😩 best version of Danny boy I’ve ever heard.
Such magnificent voices...what a delight!!!
Achingly beautiful.
Somewhere far in my memories I hear it as if it were yesterday, as cloudy as they become, I cherish all the old age songs that built our traditions and families. This song is such a sad farewell/sending off song. It just hits you.
Absolutely dynamite! These haunting celtic harmonies make the spirit soar.
que belleza... la composición, las voces, el país, el paisaje, su cultura y l@s chic@s cantantes.... todo de un grandísimo nivel estético.
Awe inspiring performance like the singing voices of angels. Beautifully shot video.
I imagined myself out for a little stroll, coming around a hill wondering what I was hearing and seeing all of you singing so beautifully. I'd stand there staring at you, open-mouthed but appreciative!
Absolutely beautiful. And the tenor soloist is so warm and even-toned. Beautiful consistency! More please!
Ein wunderschöner Chorsatz und gut gesungen!
Aaahhhhh I've been waiting for you guys to do this since forever!!!!! Yay!!!
I'm a nanny and I learned a ton of your songs to sing to my baby to put her to sleep. She really loves "Black is the color of my true love's hair" and "Wild mountain thyme"
I always loved my bonnie lies over the ocean. Hey can you make a recording and maybe share it? But if not, it would make a great keepsake for the kid for later.
Beautifully done, rich harmonies, soloists exceptional.
Clear, vibratoless sopranos, hitting that high note - aye 'tis pure as the water from which the finest whiskey is distilled! BTW, my family was from Monasterevin in County Kildare.
Spectacular and beautiful in every way. Took my breath away. Bravo.
毎回、素晴らしい歌声をありがとう。

This is gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing it. Listening brought tears to my eyes. The solo tenor is amazing. He makes the highest notes sound effortless. It makes me wonder how much higher his range goes. :)
Spellbinding. This brought tears to my eyes.
This is absolutly incredible.
I've heard that this language is dying. Not popular enough.
I beg you to keep this treasure alive as long as possible, it's marvelous to hear
The claws of Marxism are trying to kill Ireland, but all the evil of Hell will not destroy this soulful land of beauty.
The song is in English, not Irish.
Goosebumps all over. So good! As always, I can’t wait for the next one.
Beautifully arranged and performed, conveying so much heartfelt emotion. Thanks for such a superb recording!

Superb. Dignified. Worth the tears shed.

My Irish father named me Danny, after his favorite song. After 60+ years, I just listened to this version and now realize why it was his favorite. OMG, so beautiful. Tears are understandable.
