Very touching. As a man entering my " golden " years and all of my elders having passed on, I find this reviving some fond memories of my youth and a time long gone. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all.
My grandmother passed away last December. She was not Scotish herself, but her granddaughter (me) was born in Scotland and she had held an affinity with it ever since. She wanted Scotish music for her service, but due to the service-providers we couldn't. Her ashes will be scattered tomorrow, at the place where she was most happy. I won't be able to be there, but I suggested to my family to play a nice version of Auld Lang Syne. My dad asked me if I could find a nice and appropriate version. This rendition made me cry. It is gorgeous. Thank you for making me feel I could be part of her send off.

I've been listening to this a lot too... My adoptive father, Darrell and my ma's brother, Richard both passed away recently and this has been kinda my go to when I hit the low - lows.

I'm listening to this from the great Lone Star state of Texas. Very impressive singing. Very clear, true tones, no distortions or competition, but an expert blend and nice harmonies. The closest thing to a Heavenly choir.

Stunning vocal harmonies, brilliant changing levels of sound. Compliment to a perfect arrangement by Desmond Earley, performed by an outstanding choir, another milestone of choral music.
I will never get tired of listening to this song, once, twice or ten times in a row. The interpretation of this choir is unique, divine and deeply moving. Un immense merci depuis la France.
I think we all need this song right now, this year has been rough, and we shouldn't forget those we lost contact with during lockdown or those we lost for good this year, best wishes for the next year And finally a version that doesn't abandon the beautiful melody
For all those people we couldn't save this year... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry we're all full up with selfish and self righteous fools. I'm so sorry we didn't do more. I'm sorry we didn't fight harder against this disease, that we weren't more cautious. Your loss falls on us, those that lived. So as I listen to this song once again at the end of year, I say this. We won't forget you. And I swear, we'll do better. We won't forget you.
These guys are so blessed with such beautiful voice. Gifts from God almighty. I was in Scotland some 20 years ago as a tourist and toured around the country for about 2 weeks. Beautiful country, beautiful sceneries. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to visit Ireland. I'm sure it's beautiful too. Love from Singapore.
Great globalist finance controls politics (conservative, labour, SNP, greens are full of great finance puppets) and wants to destroy family (gender theory, LGBT ideology, pornography, ...) because family is the greatest obstacle to the full control of people; muslim immigrants in Europe are also instruments for this satanic project; SNP has nothing Scottish about it (except the name). Read G.K. Chesterton, a great defender of family and freedom. Wake up Scots: protect your families, children and freedom!

It’s been so hard and lonely. But this, this right here, moved me to tears and gave me some peace during an awful period in my life. Thank you.
@Laura Elliott I'm 14 and I thought the exact same thing about the funeral. 😅
Hi Josh D, will keep you and your partner in my prayers when praying the Rosary.
find your strength back, Bro. Praying with you right now. email me if you can kcym2012@gmail.com. Much love, Bro.
@Josh D. Just remember, the lowest ebb is the turn of the tide. Best wishes sending across the waves from Ireland.
This song reminds me of the fact that nobody is unimportant. You may be forgotten forever but what you do while you're alive WILL matter. Weather it be you, your family your child grandchild or friend. what you do will eventually lead to something important. We all leave a legacy behind.
Love it - simple, traditional, beautiful. Their voices move. No flash or over the top.
My Irish pride swells when I hear the choral scholars sing - I have been watching the videos for years - this was beautiful !!
Mine too. And I'm not even Irish.
@@alankilen6646 Someday I'll be there for sure. Thank you!
Why? Do you not have any accomplishments of your own?
@@jb76489 I don’t quite understand how a compliment to a chorus group inspires you to write a underhanded slap back to me? I guess one of my accomplishments is not to be an ass while online - too bad you can’t say the same.
@@bdc2178 oh go cry to someone who cares. I asked a simple question. Why do you feel pride in something you have no connection to?
So good I'm listening to this twice, back to back, in June.
how does June feel about that?
I see a pattern forming 👀
Same here.
Half New Years day is on July 1st and half Christmas is on June 25th so no problem at all.
I've been listening to this a lot too...
My adoptive father, Darrell and my ma's brother, Richard both passed away recently and this has been kinda my go to when I hit the low - lows.
I'm writing this particular version into my will. To be played as the last hymn at the service. All royalties to be divided between these divine singers.
No wonder there's not a single dislike. Flawless arrangement, flawless performace. Flawless music. And sympathetic people there.
I cry for Scotland. they have had such a sad history yet have made such fantastic contributions to mankind
I do not think we have a sad history, just history but yes we have made a great contribution to the world
I cry when I watch them playing football - another year, same garbage.
I am Turkish and strangely I have a passion toward everything Celtic. You know, it is so beautiful 🇹🇷❤️🇮🇪🏴
Not that weird, the celts (Galatians) actually expanded in to Anatolia at one point.
Me too. I love everything Irish and Celtic. I'm a Bosnian, went to Trinity College Dublin for my uni, played Rugby and Gaelic Football as a student, support Fermanagh GAA, etc.
I m from Kosovo but Love extremly Scotland Music. Bravo very heart touching👉🏽❤️👍🙏🏼
The older I get the more I appreciate this beautiful song. Old friends and memories.🇺🇸🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🌌
Happy New Year 🎉 2024
Oh my god. Just absolutely gorgeous performance.
This has to be the most incredibly moving & most spectacular song I have ever heard in my entire 63 years of life! I have tears pouring down my cheeks . . . I feel like I’ve entered a magnificent cathedral & this stunningly beautiful chorus of angels was waiting to greet me. Thank you for such a timeless piece of musical perfection. 🙏🙏😇❤️
Thank you. You might like our upcoming project on James Joyce that will release on 20th September lnk.to/JamesJoyceChamberMusic
From an American Irish gal, this is worth every wave and tide across the seas!
This song is synonymous with New Year's celebrations but this particular rendition, to me at least, sounds heavenly & ethereal. It's what I would imagine a choir of angels would sound like.
I lost my partner March 11th of 2021. This song is emotional. He won’t be with us in 2022 but his spirit lives on forever.
My Grandparents used to play this. I still have no idea why almost 30 years later, I still break listening to this.. Beautifully beautiful..
Because you loved them. And love never forgets. It never fades. It never dies.
@deblosey811 Thankyou. You are right, albeit, I soon discovered it was because of heritage. My Homeland, and how it had been destroyed. 2024 will be a revival year.
Beautiful young people, beautiful voices. If I were one of their parents, this recording would be a lifelong treasure.
For Betty White. RIP. A true Lady.
I'm listening to this from the great Lone Star state of Texas. Very impressive singing. Very clear, true tones, no distortions or competition, but an expert blend and nice harmonies. The closest thing to a Heavenly choir.
When I find videos like this Im just so blown away by the beauty and the culture in this song and performance.. human beings are capable of such wonderful things especially during this time of year it's absolutely such a blessing that we can be able to share culture and music and art and love and happiness between one another.. happy holidays everybody God bless.!
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And the days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll drink a cup of kindness yet
For the sake of auld lang syne
And surely you will buy your cup
And surely I'll buy mine!
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For the sake of auld lang syne
We two have paddled in the stream
From morning sun till night
The seas between us Lord and swell
Since the days of auld lang syne
For old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
For the sake of auld lang syne?
For old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
In the days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll drink a cup of kindness yet
For the sake of auld lang syne
0:53 what a beautiful and pure voice. I still have goose bumps
Yes
Absolute perfection! Without doubt the best arrangement and rendition I've ever heard in my 65 years. Even the acoustics were beautiful. Well done!
My 91 year-old grandfather thought this was absolutely brilliant ! Thank you so much to all of you, angelic voices, for offering us such a precious gift ! May you have a very merry Christmas and a blissful & happy new year !
as long as there are these bright faces and such songs are sung, the end of the world will not come.
Wonderful! Such a hauntingly beautiful rendition, redolent of Celtic sweet melancholy, truly moves the heart.
Brings me back to where I was a kid sitting in front of a warm fire place in the living room with Mom, Dad, and family during X-mas.
If only people really understood the meaning of this song... world would be a f***cking better place. Beautiful words, voices and young people. Let's just raise a cup for all that's good in this world and forget all, that went wrong. Cheers from Poland.
Happy New Years From the United States of Amnesia -
Right!!!
Tribute to my dear companion Wallace Li, who passed away on 10/31/2023, gratitude for being able to share our time and love together and all the lessons we went through. Missing you so much
My first video of 2022! Thank you and God bless us, every-one! ; )
absolutely beautiful. a heartwarming rendition in a crazy world.
The opening is....ethereal in its beauty. I felt like I was in a cathedral and hearing the voices of angels.
Üdvözlet Magyarországról! Gyönyörű dal. Mi magyarok is muzikális nép vagyunk, a történelmünk pedig sokban hasonlít a skót és ír nép történelmére. Emiatt is kedves nekünk ez a dal.
Quite one of the most magnificent performances I’ve ever heard.
I remember watching this few years before. Things for me has changed for the better definitely. I hope 2024 will be better for me and for everyone else
UCD's choir is really awesome. Wonderful voices which make this version of Auld Lang Syne awesome.
Stunning vocal harmonies, brilliant changing levels of sound. Compliment to a perfect arrangement by Desmond Earley, performed by an outstanding choir, another milestone of choral music.
Please do not ever delete this video, I'd like to watch and listen it in my whole life and after!
I will never get tired of listening to this song, once, twice or ten times in a row. The interpretation of this choir is unique, divine and deeply moving. Un immense merci depuis la France.
Such a beautiful blend of clear voices and acoustic. Couldn't be better, IMO.
May 2024 bring us all good fortune, fellow travellers! Long we may live and journey on.
I think we all need this song right now, this year has been rough, and we shouldn't forget those we lost contact with during lockdown or those we lost for good this year, best wishes for the next year
And finally a version that doesn't abandon the beautiful melody
Amen!! My thoughts exactly. Happy New Year !
One of my favorite songs and my favorite rendition of this song. It gives me goosebumps.
@BladeRadius Yea right, so the refrigerated semi-trailers used as morgues on hospital grounds shouldn't be there.

A very happy new year 2024 to all reading this.
Thank you! Wishing the same for you! ♥️
I'm not cutting onions - you must be doing it. Absolutely beautiful and it resonates with the Irish blood in our family way over here in Sydney, Aust - many thanks and regards - David
Such an incredible blend of voices. Well done all!
Einfach wunderbar. Mit den besten Segenswünschen von Deutschland nach Irland.
For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we’ll take a cup of kindness yet for auld lang syne.
Stimmt! Die beste Rendition des Lieds, die ich mal gehört hab. Freut mich sehr, dass so viele auf der Welt das Lied zusammen genießen können
Grüße aus Australien :)
Frohes neues Jahr von Amerika!
It's a blessing to be able to listen to such a beautiful song sung by such beautiful voices ☺ 💙
A close, long time friend just died, suddenly. I had the urge to listen to this beautiful song, and for the first time, I really cried. I’m far from being Scottish, but I want this music played at my memorial, whenever it is.
