Thanks for the update Jose! Always appreciate your update videos as it help get a better idea of the cool changes. I just checked and the update already came in on my R1T. Installing now.
Glad they finally allow you to change the fan separate from the auto temperature. Was hard keeping consistent temp with it turning off the fan once it hit temperature. Every other car could do this, happy they finally addressed it. Looking forward to that accent lighting!
Please what we need is multiple music (e.g. Spotify) profiles connected to the driver. Soo annoying have to log in and log out every time my wife and I switch off in the car
Preach! This functionality works flawless on my wife’s model Y. When we get in the R1S we need to log in and out of each others profiles. Listen to the people Rivian!
If you share your playlists with each other (it’s in the send menu on iPhone), you would have access to each others playlists and not have to switch. It’s a work around, not a fix, but hope it helps!
Hey Jose, great info! Thanks for sharing! BTW, Horizon West in the house! Looking forward to delivery of my R1S this month! Maybe I'll catch you on 27 or the 429!😆🚙
Jose, consider getting a small tripod to hold your phone while you film. Charge Overland just did a full overview and had his camera (presumably a phone) on a steady tripod the entire time. It was a joy to watch.
Yup. I charge at home 99% of the time, so annoying that when i navigate to home it sends me to a stupid useless electrify america charger, when i have plenty of range to get home. But the NAV as a whole is completely useless to me. Its so bad!! luckily I don't road trip the Rivian.
Jose, it may make sense for a new video about multiple bugs and regression issues in this update. Large number of people reporting this, including black navigation screen , I need to do multiple restarts per day myself on R1T quad.
When will Rivian add the ability to separate settings per the user. For example, when I use Spotify and then my wife drives the R1T, she has to log me out and then log herself in. Also, with the abillity to change the interior lighting, it would be nice to also separate that to individual users so my wife can have her favorite color when she drives it and then I can have mine.
Great review as always. Still waiting for Apply Play. The Rivian is by far the nicest car I have ever owned but my next car must have Car Play. Such a simple thing. Not sure why they are resistant. I would even pay for it even though no other company charges for it. Thank you Jose.
@@NicholasDoering You very well could be correct. The experience is not great and will affect sales. Other EV companies are catching up quickly and its too bad Rivian would let something as simple as Apple Play stop them from being better. Point in case, the iPhone is great but if it didn't have the Apple OS sales would sink. Same will happen to Rivian if they don't improve on the software/media experience. Currently the apps they have are worthless with the exception of Spotify. No Waze, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Zoom, Teams, etc. Sort of embarrassing that a $22,000 Kia has that but my $100,000 Rivian doesn't. All the best.
Would be nice to browse through music apps without stopping the music when you change an app. Every time I listen to Spotify for example and I want to search for a station on TuneIn, the music stops until I push the station on TuneIn. Also Rivian, PLEASE let us watch videos on the screen while we park 🙏🏽
Glad they finally reworked the nav settings. I cursed every time I needed to change them it was just so annoying to get to. Glad they are a first class citizen now. Guess I was lucky, Apple Music worked extremely well for me, only a few hiccups.
Awesome job Jose, keep up the good work, this is highly appreciated by everyone in the community! Do you know if there’s any chance Alexa won’t default to Amazon music or Spotify? When I ask to play on Apple Music it says it’s not supported
Jose I have a question. since the last update have not been able to shut down my truck. Doors do not lock or unlock when I walk up to or walk away from truck. I also have an issue with charging truck charging to set point it stops and drains the battery. Rivian has not been much help its been several weeks they have me schedule sept. 25th for service in Baltimore. I am not happy with service saying they will call me back and never do. how do I fine a formal complant with management? I have asked for a supervise but that never happens. I hope you can help. Thanks Nick
What do you do when you have a passenger in the vehicle and need the climate control to stay on and infotainment while you do something like run into the grocery store and they stay in the vehicle?
Rivian bills itself as an adventure vehicle. Trailering stuff is a part of adventuring yet the navigation wont keep you off roads that dont allow trailers. The vehicle knows when you have a trailer connected so why does it send you on prohibted roads? Also, the EVolve charging network in upstate NY is not shown in the navigation. I cant get the vehicle to battery condition because the navigation is not aware of any of these chargers. These small fixes would help drivers who navigate thru NY/NJ
Just loaded mine. The map traffic data actually looks real-time as of now. Last week I was driving to my shop and the data from the night before was still showing up. If this truly is Google Map data, I'd really like it to look like a Google Map. All colors, including green, so I can make real-time diversion decision, not rely on the default turn-by-turn route, which is usually not the best. I really don't really care about any of the other updates, certainly not the interior lights. One more thing I would like is to have the settings and phone icons stay permanently on the screen, rather than have to swipe up to restore them. That and my previous request to add the time and temperature to the driver's display. :)
Always appreciate your content. Here is what they really need to fix next in my opinion. Biggest changes they need to make ASAP: 1. Make the Conserve Mode seperate from All Purpose for Dual Motor owners. Front wheel drive as the default is not what I bought an awesome all wheel drive vehicle for. Also, terrible for tire wear and torque steering issues. 2. Auto A/C mode needs to not change the recirculation mode out of what I set it to. I live in Houston and it is too hot for it to keep turning it off on me. 3. (This might be a Gen 2 thing only) Auto A/C mode should not open the defrost vent at all. Again in muggy Houston heat it fogs my windshield up bad in the mornings. It does not do this with Auto Mode off. These are the only items that really aggravate me on a daily basis and seem like they should be easy fixes.
I agree on 1. In the mountains the thing insists on staying in FWD and understeers badly due to it's weight because only the front wheels brake/regen. One solution, if you don't have sport mode, is to turn off stability control and it will use the rear much more. The other solution is off-road mode but then you lose a bunch of other features. Unfortunately the EPA has things to say about default modes when a car is certified for range.
Thanks Jose. Rivian - instead of wasting resources to incorporate Google data, just suck it up, admit you made a mistake and move to Google maps. No matter how much lipstick you put on it, your maps will always be significantly inferior. Google maps is a far superior experience for your customers.
Sure wish they’d fix the fact that in my 2023 R1S, the AC vents do not always point in the direction shown on the display. This is a reported problem from early 2023 that Rivian has apparently not addressed. I have to move the icons to all four corners or turn them off and on again to try to get the vents to align. Turning AC off/on doesn’t help. Most common in hot days. Perhaps you have inside contacts to find out (since somehow you get early software releases).
@@riviantrackr I had them in the summer of 2023 and now 2024. It’s very annoying to have to turn each vent off and on again almost every time I get into the vehicle. SC pulled up the bug report, wouldn’t show it to me, but did tell me that Rivian is aware of the issue and doesn’t know how to fix it. To me, this is apparently a non-priority to Rivian. SC won’t even look at it due to the bug report.
Why does it seem like Rivian does everything out of priority order? For instance, more details in maps is great... except that the nav is unreliable. What good is having more info if I can't get there efficiently and reliably? Everyone (that cared) asked for a color wheel and instead got themes. In the day and age of customizability, why is Rivian hellbent on forcing people into categories? Also, I'd rather they stop with all of these nonsense updates and prioritize all their engineers onto things that actually matter like a nav that works, being able to talk to text, and syncing calendar with maps.
Agreed. Frustrated they don't prioritize more important features. Also don't understand why it takes so long to push out a few minor ones that require less than a day of programming.
Thanks for the update Jose! Always appreciate your update videos as it help get a better idea of the cool changes. I just checked and the update already came in on my R1T. Installing now.
Fast rollout this time!

there should really be an "arrive with enough energy to make it home" button
or a "home" option in the search area for when dropping multiple locations into the navigation.

Jose, how do you get these updates before everyone else?
great video! hope we get some driver+ updates
Me too!
Would love traffic lights to show up on navigation
Jose, it may make sense for a new video about multiple bugs and regression issues in this update. Large number of people reporting this, including black navigation screen , I need to do multiple restarts per day myself on R1T quad.
Nice updates! I'm still waiting on basic odometer information on the driver screen. 😂

They will never add it because they want to control the experience. User feedback likely won't change this unfortunately.

any news on SiriusXM Satellite Radio yet?
Any update on xm radio?
@1:40 - That's what she said
I love you for this!
I noticed you still have your garage button on your dash mine disappeared and I tried a reset and can’t seem to get it back. Any suggestions?
I know a few others have reported this but you can do a hard reset to see if it appears again.
Can you confirm the audio quality has not changed since last update?
Don’t want to downgrade
No audio quality changes
@@riviantrackr awesome, thanks! I’ll start my update now
Why can't we see lyrics in Spotify app? I can do that in the web and phone app, so why not in Rivian app?
You want to see lyrics whiled driving?
Hmm obviously not, but we don't have that capability even when parked

Very s00n

Yes, it’s coming to Gen 1 Quad

Is the Gen1 accent lighting the same intensity as Gen2? It doesn't look particularly bright in the video.
It doesn’t feel as bright
