Love the updates, only thing that I think was a miss is the front park assist camera having directional lines but it should be something that can easily be added in the future.
Thanks for the update. A small thing I’d like to see at some point is putting the time in the driver display. It’d be more convenient than having to look across the main screen. Also idk if you have mentioned this before but with Apple Music, there is a limitation on the number of songs it will display in my playlists. It will either show up to 50 or 100 songs but you can’t scroll through the entire playlist if you exceed 100 songs
So glad I will see directions with my left blinker on and with ETA. Though I learned the hard way on an earlier road trip that the ETA is in your current time zone, not the time zone of the person you are navigating to 😩. Rivian, at least give us a "this route may cross time zones" or something.
Great vid and walkthrough. I like the ETA added to the driver display. Would be interesting to add more useful data points. Maybe they could start with a standard clock/time. ETA is great but without a reference point, it can be difficult to estimate when to make turns or exit highways etc.
Does anyone else find it annoying to constantly have the "1" next to the "Hide" button on the map window? I assume most of us have that filter set to hide "Incompatible" chargers - can we request to have that option changed from "Incompatible" to "Show Incompatible" so that "1" can disappear and only have it on when you purposely want to show incompatible chargers? Otherwise, 99% of us will always have that eye-sore of a "1" next to that button...
Great video, as always. I do wish the mini pop-up widget for next song playing was permanent so you don't need to swipe in from the right of the main screen. The pop-up is long gone by the time you wonder "who sings this?"
You are the best. Thank you for another great video. I agree - the Apple Music integration is so clunky. I hope this update and future updates this feature gets better.
Anyone figure out the vertical efficiency bar to the right of the graph? I see no details about it. Sometimes turns green and the dot moves slightly up and down but usually in the middle. Seems like it turns green when you are running slower speeds like 52mph or slower and the dot is slightly higher on the bar. Not clear how it works for me....
@@mdbbox5660Agreed! maybe if it adjusts to your driving over the last 100-200miles or so then that would be useful but it’s a constant EPA rated range which is very unhelpful.
@@BenPellowMusic I found even with the Lightning that adjusts based on your recent driving that the estimate wasn't all that useful. I don't blame the system though. Unless I'm using navigation, the vehicle has no idea where I'm going or how fast I'm planning to travel. And if I am using navigation, just give me the percentage estimated at the end. I drive old gas cars and none of them estimate remaining range, though I know new ones try to.
I have two 2022 R1Ts, I notice a big difference between the quality of sound between them. Same songs set at same volume, one sounds muffled and lower all the time. I hope they can fix the system in the one that isn’t performing as well.
Anyone know how the new sleep functionality affects the resetting of suspension and drive mode settings during a sleep? It's bad enough that they're reset at all, but I don't want it to happen whenever I get out of the truck. If so, I will defer this update as long as I can.
Thanks again for your great reviews of some, sometimes, not-fantastic software. I regularly have people ask me about my R1T and what I think about it. For the technically minded, which is most of them, I say the vehicle dynamics software is amazingly sorted. The infotainment and such is still leaning disaster, in my opinion. I've never driven a Tesla, so I'm assuming I'd probably hate that too. I can see the push to moving more items to be screen-based. I do love buttons, but I think the Rivian has better balance than the newer Teslas. I am happy to still have real interior door handles. Push buttons to get out is really cheesy. A few minor things that I'd like to see, beyond a clock and a temp gauge on the driver's display would be: 1. Being able to push the wiper button prior to pressing the brake pedal. The audio starts, so I should be able to do a quick windshield wipe before I commit to driving off. 2. I love the "vent windows" button on the app. Why isn't there one on the popup screen in the center display when you put the truck in park? Similar to Florida, I live in San Diego where it's almost always too hot to leave the truck parked, without the window cracked. Thanks again and keep up the good work. -Mark
Good job RT. One request: still waiting for your update of the Nokian Outpost NATs. Timely topic, as I'm close to pulling the trigger on a new set of 20's. Nokians still quiet? How's the road handling and ride quality? Thanks.
I'm about 1400 miles into mine, LT275/60/20. I came from the 21s so definitely louder but not bad. Doesn't track to center as strongly. Efficiency is not bad after break-in period. Gen1 R1S suspension is much better tuned on 20s. For me 50 psi is the right balance on road, 38 is spectacular for forest roads. It feels great driving with basically no worries on rocky forest roads.
@@pfunk768 Thanks for the feedback. Exactly the information I needed. When you say 'Doesn't track to center as strongly", does it feel like they drift off-center on the highway to any objectionable degree? One of my beefs with the stock Pirelli's is this sort of lack of directional stability at highway speeds. And do they seem fairly compliant of small pavement imperfections? Thanks again.
@@pearldiver7 I put them on Dodge wheels which have a different offset from stock wheels. This seems it can cause a little bit of torque steer, so I can't say exactly how much of the difference is the tires and how much is the wheel. But highway handling is pretty good and easy, just not quite as precise or feedback-y as all seasons. Auto steer probably works better with the nATs, perhaps because they are less influenced by road imperfections.

@@riviantrackr thanks for answering! I am looking for new AT tires and this was one of the options. I am still trying to learn the pressures. How did you come up with 62psi? I know rivian uses 31psi min for scorpion ATs but it's totally unknown for other tires. I would like to go as low as possible without popping a bead. Thanks!
@lil.frog.the.rivian I have my cold PSI set to 60 because it’ll match the factory weight on these heavier tires. The ride is a bit stiffer but I’m okay with that for max efficiency

I get they are having issues with the sound but it doesn’t make any sense that 1 is barely audible and 2 is too loud. Can’t we go up to like 30? Can they not just make us turn it way up to make it to loud. Seems like a really simple fix
