Bart sitting with his feet up on the desk, smoking a cigar and randomly interjecting is one of the funniest things in this entire movie for me. He's a really cool character.
One of my funniest moments is when that Chinese guy collapses and the boss says “Doc that Chink a days pay”. I don’t know how the film was ever released but it’s hilarious. I hate racism but how it’s portrayed in this movie is just genius ( if that’s the right way to say it ) 👍🇬🇧.

So many good parts. My favorite is the denied payoff. He grabs Bart, catches himself at "ni-" comes back, grabs the correct person and still only says "ni". And it's not like the movie has shied away from it up to this point either so you have every expectation he's gonna say it. That's a great punchline.
It gets better, he doesn't actually say "ni" the second time, he says nit, like a nitwit, which is a great redirection since it's implied the first time around he was going to say the other n-word.

This movie could never be remade...should never be remade. I had the good fortune of seeing this very movie on the big screen in 2014 with my wife and niece...along with an entire audience. Everybody in the theater cheered, laughed, and applauded.

The irony is that Blazing Saddles is the ultimate anti-racist movie: the lead role and hero is black (among a mostly white cast), the white guys are mostly imbeciles, ALL the ethnic groups get roasted throughout the movie, but of all the cliches and movie tropes satirized in Blazing Saddles, the one that the movie takes seriously is good triumphing over evil; acceptance over bigotry. A true classic which I hope will be popular for a long time.
Sheer comedic brilliance that- sadly- could not and would not ever be made in today's repressive environment. So glad I grew up in the 60s/70s before the left lost their respective minds and still had a sense of humor.
Fun fact: his wife is actually an extra in the church congregation and also appeared in several other Mel Brooks films like “To he or not to be”, Silent Movie, and Dracula: Dead and loving it
Since then, people realized "They'll kill him in one day" wasn't humorous, but a true and sad reflection of the times. But Mel did make good on showing how stupid racism was and conservatives were in a funny way.

The black character has agency and is NEVER the butt of the joke save in two scenes designed specifically to engender sympathy in the audience. Brook's primary targets in the movie are always the rich, privileged, ignorant, and corrupt.THAT'S why this movie holds up so well.
